Chapter 1: The Beginning of This Dimension

Part A: The Spectrum

It’s a common misconception that this dimension is all there is within the grand scheme of the universe- that we are the primary factor in the balance of the universe. However, what little we know of The Spectrum’s existence proves this concept false. The Spectrum, albeit a vastly unknown entity, is one of surreal power and divinity.

The Embodiment of Balance

Although many details about The Spectrum are unknown, it has been proven that The Spectrum is a deity, although it’s worship is not particularly common in any part of the known galaxy. The Spectrum is theorized to be the ‘living embodiment of balance in the multiverse’ and it’s rumored that as long as the spectrum stays in a sleeping, semi-conscious state, the universe stays balanced. What this ‘balance’ entails is unclear to even the most knowledgeable historians and theologians, however it is commonly thought to have something to do with the levels of celeste, or liquidized magic, held within lifeforms and planets.

A Being Outside Time

The Spectrum is widely considered to exist outside the linear timestream, having seemingly existed and not existed at any given point in dimensional history. The spectrum is also said to exist outside of dimensional flow, supposedly in the gray space between dimensions. Those who have reported seeing or meeting the spectrum cite feeling as if they’ve lost all sense of time and place, even identity in certain cases.

The Spectrum as a Mantel

Possibly due to the nontemporal nature of The Spectrum’s existence, it’s theorized that The Spectrum, instead of being a specific entity, is a mantle of power passed on from one being to another. Due to The Spectrum existing outside of both time and a physical dimension, the progression from Spectrum- to- spectrum would flow in a similar, non-linear way. Theologians suggest that the ‘next spectrum’ is chosen from the billions of separate entities within the multiverse, then transported into the area between dimensions in which the spectrum exists. The Spectrum’s old identity is then permanently removed from the linear timeflow, erasing all knowledge of their existence as that being.

Theologian Marcus Reilfreid states, “The Spectrum exists outside the bounds every other being is limited by. Other gods (and every mortal in existence) can only exist at so many times, in so many realities. There are infinite realities without Ari and infinite times without her, the same goes for every other being in existence. But because The Spectrum is a mantle instead of a soul, it exists outside these bounds and is unaffected by time or the collapse of certain realities. For the safety and stability of the multiverse, the spectrum keeps itself in a coma-like semi-consciousness.”

Spectral Personas

It is said that The Spectrum, when visiting dimensions and specific points in time, must occupy a Spectral Persona. Occupying a persona greatly limits The Spectrum’s power, to a point where they are easily able to travel to a physical place and time. It’s theorized that each Spectrum’s personas are different, although there are consistencies in the personas demeanors, names, and color schemes. Some notable and recognized personas are Vir, who represents blue light and Mal, who represents red light. It has been proposed that Ari herself is a persona of the spectrum, representing white light.

Part B: Ari’s Origins

Ari Starburn, known formally as the Lady of The Cosmos, is regarded as the creator of this dimension, or Universe 7179. While we know very little about Ari’s exact origins, some rumors suggest she is one of the Spectral Personas, or was part of some primordial system of multi-dimensional gods

Ari’s Abilities and Powers

Ari possesses a multitude of unique powers and abilities, and is said to be the most powerful being in the universe. Some of her unique abilities include being able to create matter to a ginormous scale and even spark life into non-living matter. The exact nature of Ari’s powerset has not been studied in detail, however, as she tends to be somewhat elusive when interacting with mortal life. Ari also is known to possess the standard abilities of any deity, such as immortality and the ability to glow threateningly.

The Creation Of The Old Gods

Upon creating Universe 7179, Ari sparked life into a new order of gods, known simply as The New Gods. The New Gods then went on to create the rest of the universe. While Ari did not directly create the living systems of Universe 7179, she is regarded as the initial creator of the universe and worshipped as such. Ari is reported to be one of the most worshipped entities in the known universe, followed closely by Elion, the goddess of prosperity.

Ari’s Reputation

Soon after their creation, the new gods sorted themself into a sort of order, with Ari at the helm. After a long time spent leading the old gods, Ari grew bored with their endeavors and ran off to travel the galaxy and cause mayhem wherever she goes. Despite this, Ari is widely regarded to be a beacon of maturity, maternity and overall level-headedness. This is a blind interpretation of the goddess, as she has a reputation of sleeping with anyone. In fact, theologians state that it’s theorized that Caestor, the god of death, has a certain place in the underworld to house the souls of all Ari’s undead lovers, in hopes she won’t be able to break in and revive them.

Part C: The New Gods

The term ‘New Gods’, while commonly used to describe any of the dimension-bound deities roaming this universe, is specifically associated with the god system of the Ka’yoskna faith, also known as the Divine Order. While other gods and god systems are followed in small sects across the galaxy, the Ka’yoskna faith is by far the most followed, being the official faith of the Confederacy of Baron.

The Elemental Gods

The highest powers in the Divine Order are the Elemental Gods- Chirre of Earth, Laou of Air, Quiline of Water, and Shivon of Fire. Each is directly associated with one of the four elements, and rumored to be the creators of the Four Elemental Races. The Elemental gods are the most powerful of the Divine Order, and have been said to have been in charge of it during Ari’s absence. Despite this, they are worshipped in a lesser capacity compared to the lesser gods, most likely due to their affiliations with the Elemental Races. Theologian Rebek Arnold describes the Elemental Gods as, “Not as powerful as Ari alone, but together strong enough to defeat her. [The Elemental Gods] are like the elements they represent themselves-for instance, Shivon, the goddess of fire, is rather hotheaded.”
