Carrion seems grateful for the contact, holding his hand like a lifeline as they shiver once again. ’It’ll be alright.’ This sort of coaxing, ultimately false but still so soothing words are achingly familiar to them. Words whispered under screaming voices, shattered glass and falling rain. Carrion nods, letting out a shuddering sigh. ”It- it is scary.. mhm… n-not alone. Kenji squeezes Carrion's hand gently in reassurance, and as he stands, he pulls his chair over to that side so he can sit down normally again. "That's it," he repeats encouragingly. "Between the rest of us here--" The limited number here....but that's not a thought for right now. "--we'll figure something out. Have you met many of the others here?" @Sauce | Gale🌪+Carrion🍄

Carrion takes a moment to breathe, weakly squeezing Kenji’s hand back. They wipe away the black tears with their scarred hand, calming down. ’Have you met many of the others?’ Well.. there was Evan, but he hadn’t seen him in a while, Cansu was.. mean, and so was that ghost lady, then Isi… Deep in their heart, Carrion knew Isi was gone. "Hmm..." Kenji hums, softly, giving himself a moment to think. "That's alright. I.. I wish you could've met Aarni," he continues, smile dimming a little but not fading. "I knew him before all this, too, though here he was closer to your age than mine I think. But the people that are still here, I think you can trust them too. Aarni.. the name wasn’t familiar, but if Kenji liked him, he must’ve been nice.. Carrion shifted, still holding Kenji tight, he brings his knees up to his chest and leans his head into his free arm. ”I- I knew.. Iss- Isi.. but sh-she’s… gone.. um, wh-who do.. why do you.. t-trust everyone? That’s a hard question. Kenji’s face softens, slightly, and he sighs as he leans back a bit in his chair. “I don’t.. really have an answer for that,” he admits, free hand drumming against the mask on the table. “I like to think the best of everyone when I can—give them a chance at least, I guess. I don’t really know that they’re safe for sure. When I was younger I avoided people so much I isolated myself, and…” Something is tugging at the back of his mind, something missing…but what, he once again can’t say. “I just..
