"Ah, I don't wanna put all that on you. It's really a downer of a topic." Kyrie hummed, "It's not that my family's difficult, it's just- a weird situation. If I could be with them, I would." She seemed relieved to shift back to the lighter topic. "Hah- yeah, we can do that. I like to make pistachio lattes the best, probably cause they're my favorite thing we sell at the cafe I work at. Ryu raised a brow and cocked her head. "Now I'm more curious than anything. I don't mind the topic at all, really. Trust me, whatever it is, I'll respect you all the same. Like I said though, only if you want," Ryu nodded. She smiled at the mention of the different lattes and she rested her chin in her hand. "Ohh, pistachio is good. "Ooh, I love matcha. Especially warm- I'm not the biggest fan of matcha in iced drinks, it doesn't blend in with the milk as well. And I can do latte art! At least kinda, I'm only really good at doing hearts and trees and flowers. I'm trying to get better, though!" She laughed. Her gaze grew more distant as she changed topic. "Well... ah, since you're asking. About six years ago, my murder's settlement was attacked in a military raid. I fled with some of my siblings, but we got separated in the woods. Ryu smiled warmly. "Ah, I see. Well, I hope you give me a pretty heart then. I'm sure you'll get even better as you practice too," she reassured. Ryu grew quiet as she listened to Kyrie and then gave her a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry to hear that, Ky. That must be difficult, not even knowing where they are or even if they're alive out there... Are you living okay on your own? "Heh... I'll definitely try." Kyrie smiled. "It's... definitely not easy. I'm much better at living alone now than I was when I first moved out, but it's still rough. I have a decent job, though, and an apartment, and I make enough to live. It's rough, but I'll survive. Surviving is what I'm good at." @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

Ryu's gaze flickered over Kyrie for a moment before he gently put his hand on her shoulder. "You shouldn't have to just survive, Ky. Living is more than just getting by, day to day," Ryu started. "I'm sorry it's been like that since you were forced from your home and family... truly. You're strong for being able to support yourself, despite everything. Kyrie startled a bit, but didn't react negatively to Ryu's touch. She took in everything he said, and was silent for a long while. "Ahh, mhm... thank you." Ryu offered Kyrie another sympathetic smile, and gently squeeze her shoulder before retracting her hand. "Of course. And I know you are. You've done a lot. You should be proud of yourself, Ky," Ryu nodded. It was then did Ryu hear the announcement play in her head and for a moment, his shoulders tensed before relaxing again. Kyrie managed a weak smile. "Thank you, again, really. Hearing that... means a lot." Her brow furrowed as she heard the announcemnt- she'd never get used to the way it played in her head. "Eugh.... "I try to be optimistic. It's a good attitude to have towards the rough things in your life... it sucks being sad," she laughed. Ryu's smile fell and she shook her head. Ryu sighed as well and stood up from her seat. She picked up a nearby rock and skipped it across the small creak. "It's always the same. People fighting, or doing something stupid and calling it a fight, then one of them gets taken or dies. It's the same." She stared at the running water as she spoke, her gaze a bit distant. Ryu shrugged, her shoulders sagging after the motion. "Entertainment, power... when you're a god, those are probably the only things you care about. That's why I was never much of a religious person myself. Why would those bastards ever care about people like us?" He huffed. She picked up another rock and skipped it once again. That earned a small laugh from Ryunoske. "Heh, for real. That's what I've been saying," she commented before turning back to Kyrie. "Of course she is... but I think it's more like she doesn't have much a choice to go against Naiyta. She's subscribed to the Lifebringer lifestyle now. I doubt it's easy to go against the original Lifebringer in it's own domain. "I trust Albanes only the slightest bit more than that other bastard, and that's only cause I knew another her in my world before she died. This Albanes... Ryu looked intrigued by Kyrie's wings when she stretched them out, but gave her a nod and smile. "I gotcha. Sorry for downing the mood," she said with an apologetic look.
