MASKTOURN

Carrion was flying around the mountain, attempting to ignore the rising smoke, the rage of the god within them. Their hands itched to cover their ears, silence the screaming, but there would be no relief. Clouds have been gathering for some time now.. A light drop of rain plops onto their face and Carrion’s throat tightens as the rain rolls down their cheek. Then another drip, and another- [‘DAMNED FALSE GOD!! IT WILL DIE, ROT!! IT WILL- WILL. WATER? WATER! WATER!! ’] Their body shakes and seizes, wings failing them, hands hopelessly grabbing at the air as he begins to fall down- down, down falling again into the water into the well- Instinct catches them, desperate beats of their wings keep them from entirely smashing into the ground below. Breath ragged as if they were being drowned, he pulls himself to their knees. Any pain from the landing is pushed down by the sensation of water soaking through his hair, through years of tangles and mess, down to his skin, chilling, writhing, weighing them down as they desperately crawl towards the temple entrance. The wind picks up, thunder roaring through the stone halls, urging them further into the temple, away from the storm. @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱 (edited)

Well, it seemed like someone, or something had been watching Carrion.. The half melted ghost was standing at the very entrance of the temple, extremely close to getting outside. It watched as Carrion pathetically crawled inside with a scowl, and made no move to help. An odor that Carrion would be familiar with would become more apparent as they got closer. Rot and decay of a human body. The source of it was definitely the ghost, which they would not instantly know wasn't a person in a very advanced stage of decay. From around where her heart should have been, her skin and muscle was melted away, revealing half melted bones beneath and a dark void in her chest. Her left eye was missing as well. Her bright green hair was extremely unkempt and tangled in to a myriad of knots. She didn't say anything as Carrion got closer.

The ringing in his ears, the screaming in his mind, it urges him forward, to get away from the noise, from the water. He smells her before he sees her. The stench of rotting flesh flooding his mouth with saliva, teeth clenching as he tries desperately to hold himself together. He reaches towards her. ”hha.. hh-hhhel…..” (edited)

The apparition did not move, though if Carrion tried to touch her, his hand would go right through.. "Who are you." The ghost asked in an accusing tone. She already looked kind of pissed off. @Sauce | Gale🌪+Carrion🍄

His name? What is his name? Nothing. Can’t remember. Choked up and wrong slurry in his mind voice-rain too loud to remember. He looks up at her through his purple mess of soaked hair, shivering. “hh- who are.. you. wh...y-you’re..hurt.” @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

"I'm not hurt. I- urgh-" She huffed and stepped away from the doorway. "I don't.. Remember much now. But I'm mad. About something." @Sauce | Gale🌪+Carrion🍄

Not hurt. Like him- can’t hurt anymore. He shuffled to his side, hair shifting to show his own eye, two long black scars running through it. He stared at her curiously. ”..hh-how are.. you mmad iff.. youu don’t.. r-remember..?” @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

"I think I saw something I didn't like. But I don't remember. I'm still mad from whatever it was." She huffed. She repeated what she said before "Who.. are you. Ka.. kal.. or.. al.. no, not her.. mm.." @Sauce | Gale🌪+Carrion🍄

He looked away for a moment, face furrowed as he tried to remember. Suddenly a shiver wracked their body and they coughed, harsh and wet as if trying to get something out of their lungs. ”hh.. hh.. ss..” He shook his head, water shaking off like a dog. “..ss- sorry- I- I’m.. I’m.. mm.. C-Carrion. Why are.. y-you’re not.. alive..?” @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

"Carrion isn't.. a name.." The ghost woman huffed irritatedly. "I.. died. A while ago. Maybe. I don't know." She put a hand up to her chest, over the exposed and half melted ribs.. And that dark void. "Something is... is.. Missing. I don't know.." @Sauce | Gale🌪+Carrion🍄

“It’s- it’s my name..” He huffed and moved to stand. They stared into the void of her ribs. “Mm, a- a lot of you is.. is missing.. How are.. you moving around? What’s k-keeping you here?” @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

"I don't know. It doesn't hurt. I don't.. feel." She said. "I only feel angry. And sad. Mostly angry. Why are you here. You're interrupting my brooding." @Sauce | Gale🌪+Carrion🍄

They look back out the door of the temple, frowning. “It’s- I’m here.. ‘cause it’ss r-raining..” “Um, wh- what’s.. brooding?” He looked up at her, head tilted like some wet dog. @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

".. Why can't you be in the rain." Something about rain.. She didn't like it either. But she couldn't exit the temple, and it didn't rain inside... And even if it could, she knew it would just go through her. But why did she dislike it..? Why.. hm.. "Brooding is-.. is.. Ugh, it's thinking. And being mad. They started to fidget with their fingers, frowning as they looked away. “Um… it- I..” His voice was weak, barely audible. “…hurts.” “..h-haha, um, w-well what.. what’re you.. thh- thinking about? R- are you t-trying to remember? Mmaybe I c- can help you?” @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

“Buh- wait- oh..” He watches as she walks away, frowning. With a sigh, Carrion gets ready to hunker down for the storm. “….Yoli, a-are you awake yet?” She wouldn’t hear anything respond.. @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱
