“Maybe he has some experience with weapons, he didn’t exactly say if he did. Though, it feels like he’ll be a beginner.” Zerada chuckled.

“Alright, let’s do this.” Zerada chuckled. Pulling out another blade from her side, she took a stance. With her left foot in front of the other, she kept her feet a good distance apart. Her right foot remained behind the other, firmly grounded on the floor while her left foot had her standing on her toes.

“You wanna have your feet kind of like this- That way, you’re quickly able to pivot or leap forward if need be,” Zerada explained. “And how to hold the knife, it depends on what you’re most comfortable with.”

“There’s the hammer grip,” Zerada held the knife like one normally would- Self explanatory, hold the knife in the same grasp as you would a hammer. “This one is good for strength and is inflexible. It’s best for chopping and blocking.”

“Next is the sideways grasp.” Zerada twirled the blade in her hold. Her thumb was pressed along the side of the handle of the blade. “This hold’s kind of weak, but it’s best for slashing by allowing your wrist to rotate in any direction. It’s good for stabbing, too.”

“Then, there’s the saber grip.” This hold had the thumb placed just below the spine of the blade. “This one’s a fairly strong hold. Just like the sideways hold, this one is good for slashing, downwards stabbing and cutting.”

“And lastly, my personal favorite, the reverse hold.” Just as she said, this hold was was a reverse of the hammer hold with the blade pointed downward and the sharp part pointed outward. “I think this is the best hold for me. While it gives you reduced range, my super speed makes up for that and helps me make quick attacks. By bending the wrist, too, you can even hide it from enemies and can do a sneak attack. This hold is best for slashing across, cutting, and stabbing.”

“So, test each of them out, give a few practice swings, and see which hold feels most comfortable for you.” @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Mhm. That's okay. Everyone's gotta start somewhere." Teya hummed.

She watched intently as Zerada explained the various grips and stances. All and all, she adapted to it pretty well, her stance was good, and her grip firm. Her previous expirence with the trident seemed to have paid off- even though it was a very different type of weapon, some of her knowledge was still applicable.

Teya tested out the various grips Zerada had demonstrated, thrusting at the air to try each out. Eventually, she settled on the saber grip. "This seems about right for me." @🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐

“You definitely look a lot more comfortable holding the blade like that,” Zerada hummed in approval as she looked at Teya’s stance and her hold on the blade. “Very good.” @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:10 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Mhm. I feel more comfortable with it like this... though, it's a bit strange, still. It's a lot lighter than what I'm used to." Teya hummed. "Are there certain timing patterns I should be aware of with this sort of fighting?" @🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐

[9:13 AM]🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐:

“Lighter allows for more speed, and for quick attacks, which are desperately needed in close-range combat,” Zerada said. “In close combat, timing is a must. There aren’t really patterns, per se, other than taking note of your opponents stance and if they may try to move closer or further from you. Their hold on their blade is important, too. With a hammer hold, they may try and overwhelm you with force. It’s good to take notice of things like that, but it’s all very quick paced. It’ll take plenty of training to get skilled with close range combat, but I believe that you’ll do a great job.” @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:16 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

Teya hummed in understanding, and did a few more test swings to work on her timing. She was still a bit hesitant and slow, but she was improving. "Everything takes practice. I do think I'll get the hang of it, eventually. Thanks." @🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐

[8:03 AM]🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐:

“I believe you’ll be great at it in no time,” Zerada smiled. “I’d offer to train you with it, but I’m sure I’ve dragged you from your duties for long enough, haven’t I?” @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:52 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Yes, I should probably get going-" Teya said, and listened as the announcement rang out. "Oh- shit- I have to go." @🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐

[10:36 AM]🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐:

Zerada frowned. “Uh- Sure, yeah. Good luck?” @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[10:37 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"If you see Isi, alert a staff member." Teya instructed before running off. @🌙Vanessa🌙 | Zerada⚡+ Kal⭐

“Sure?” Zerada watched as Teya darted away. “Bye..” @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)
