Through magic, effort, or some other means, the once-empty arena had been completely transformed. Where there had once been an empty pit of sand was now a pool of bubbling lava. Standing over the pit were two rocky platforms- one where the two contestants started, and another, smaller platform- barren except for a singular gilded lily. Between the two platforms stretched two swaying, wobbly rope bridges, each dipping dangerously close to the lava. Yeonaixho sat in a private section of the stands, with Eli, Albanes, and Desmondus- though Petrai was nowhere to be seen. When people began filing into the arena, he stood. “Greetings, contestants and spectators alike, and welcome to the first official match of this tournament of Elements! This fight is between Kal Valdez, Master of Adrenal Manipulation and Darcy Sterling, Master of Language. Give it up to our first fighters!” After giving the spectators a moment to cheer, Yeonaixho continued. “There are two ways to win this fight- the traditional way, knocking out your opponent, or, being the first to retrieve the Gilded Lily on the other side of the arena. May the best competitor win!”

To move closer to the Gilded Lily, you will have to pass through three sections, each section consisting of three d20 rolls you must pass to move through three subsections . Any roll above 20 counts as 2 subsections passed, any roll below 1 counts as one move backwards. When you reach subsection 3 of section 3 [aka subsection 9], you will make one final roll to grab the Gilded Lily.

Environmental rolls will be against the lava bubbles and rolled after the competitors’ turns with a straight d20.

Kal strolled on into the arena and hopped onto his platform. He had his climbing gloves on and was bouncing from one leg to the next. He was chilling depsite the heat. When he spotted Darcy, he waved. "Darcy! Hey, Darcy! Y'ready for this?" Kal called out before he pointed to his hair with both pointer fingers. As Kal attempted to move, he wasn't ready for a bubble of lava popping. He had no idea that was possible! Crazy. It grazed his side, which brought a wide grin out of him. As Kal was knocked unconscious, he swayed off to the side of the bridge. And was heading right towards the lava...

Just before Kal hit the lava, Kal stopped, suspended in midair. Yay! Magic!

Darcy groaned as he awoke... he hadn't meant to knock himself out, too. God, that didn't feel good.

"Bruh whattt..." Kal blinked repeatedly. He tried to sit up, only to realize that he couldn't entirely sit up, not with how he was suspended in the air in such a way. His eyes widened as he looked down into the lava. "BRUHHHH- This shit's fucking awesome."

"OH MY GOD! KAL ARE YOU OKAY?!" Darcy shouted, looking over the lava

"YEAHHHHHH- I'm floatin' over the lava!" Kal called out.

Darcy didn't seem very convinced.

Kal, meanwhile, was 'swimming' through the air.

It took a while for Desmondus to explain to Yeonaixho all that had happened, but when he did, the Hand of God rose from his seat to adress the crowd. "And the winner is... Darcy Sterling!" He didn't seem super confident in that answer. "Congradulations to Darcy!!" Kal would be elevated back to the starting platform...

Kal landed on the platform and stood on his feet firmly. His shirt was practically off, revealing glistening abs that were illuminated from the lava. Kal laughed as he looked to Darcy. "Congrats, man!"

"Thank you!" Darcy said in between gasped breaths. He went back to the starting platform, where there were now stairs down out of the arena.

"Totally caught me off guard- It's so cool that your powers can be used from long distance like that," Kal grinned. "Mine can't. You're on x-games, man! Great job!" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

“Pft, it’s okay! Don’t worry about it,” Kal chuckled. “Yeah, let’s head out of here.”
