The arena has completely transformed again, though instead of the lava pit, there was a large raised platform, covered from edge-to-edge in a grid pattern. In the very center of the platform was a small dais, upon which sat a singular gilded lily. Yeonaixho was still in his private section, with Eli and Albanes, though Desmondus was gone and Petrai had returned. As the contestants entered the arena, she rose from her seat and addressed the crowd. “Our next contestants are Ren Kimura and Taisto Stenbock.” “There are two ways to win this match. The first is to knock out your opponent. The second is to reach the Gilded Lily in the center of the area. Good luck.”

To move closer to the Gilded Lily, you will have to pass through three sections, each section consisting of three d20 rolls you must pass to move through three subsections . Any roll above 20 counts as 2 subsections passed, any roll below 1 counts as one move backwards. When you reach subsection 3 of section 3 [aka subsection 9], you will make one final roll to grab the Gilded Lily.

Environmental rolls will be against grid-trap obstacles and rolled after the competitors’ turns with a straight d20.

Taisto noticed the boy appear only when he wished him luck, and realized the competition had already begun. He blinked, and took a couple of restless steps in his place, thinking what to do. Eventually, he decided on a certain form. He dropped on all fours, but unlike the other times he'd transformed, he didn't seem to shrink much. On the contrary, though his limbs seemed to become more slender, the thick fur that sprawled over his clothes made him look even bigger. Soon, a large wolf stood on the arena. Where his dog form had gentle, brown eyes, his wolf form had piercing, green ones, and its expression was stern and serious. [Taisto uses his turn to transform.] (edited)

Ren heard Taisto drop to all fours, but unfortunately he wasn’t quite sure what that meant. A running technique maybe? Considering he felt like he hadn’t gotten too far into the arena, maybe whatever his opponent was doing was the move. Ren took a few moments to crouch down and feel the vibrations of the arena before standing up and taking off again.

Taisto didn't seem much mind in keeping this up. He was already feeling weak and aching, and his running was slower. He was considering forfeiting, when one last pillar stuck right into his abdomen, and sent him flying upwards with a loud bang. He flew... And landed heavily on the ground, unconscious, visible, dark cracks parting his fur across his chest.
