[8:57 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄): Roque woke on a stiff, uncomfortable mat, in a dim, stuffy cell. The only light came from a small slit at the top of the cell door, and it filtered in dusty, dim artificial rays. She wouldn’t recognize the place she woke in, but that probably would’ve been the least of her troubles.

For one, she was handcuffed. Cold metal cuffs dug into her wrists, hurting when she twisted them the wrong way. She couldn’t fully move her arms with the handcuffs, and the cuffs themselves were anchored to fixture on the wall by a metal chain.

Four wooden walls closed her in. One was a door that was currently closed- if she tried it, she’d find it locked from the outside. She couldn’t see anything beyond her room, even if she looked at the window that let in light, it’d just show her ceiling.

Furthermore, someone had undressed her, taken all her belongings, and redressed her in a modest, warm tunic of an ashy gray color. Even her jewelry had been taken.

While Roque might initially think she was alone, the quiet shuffling of someone beyond her cell gave the impression she definitely wasn’t.

[9:35 PM]Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline: Roque had been lost in a sweaty, anxiety inducing, restless fit of unconsciousness for a long time. She'd toss and turn one way- then the other, clanging her handcuffs together the whole while.

Visions plagued her mind throughout her near insomnia- events that she hadn't thought about in years- things she swore that she had erased out of her being by now.

Things that scared her to her to her core.

'Roque.. Everyone's always praising your sister- oh, don't look at me like that, yes it is pretty obvious you're jealous of her.'

'I ain't jealous of my sister, that's.. Mean. And I'm not mean.'

'Sure, sure.. I didn't come to talk about your sister, though.'

'.. Really? Was it about my last exam? I know I didn't study as much as usual but-"

'Not that, either. I came to talk about you. Why don't you come by my office later and we can chat?'

'.. Really? I mean- gosh- yeah, totally! I'll be there after my next class! I'll see you then!'

Roque's eyes shot open- and she lurched to the side. Her breathing had spiked again, and tears were threatening to fall on to the cold ground. She looked around the cell in a craze, hardly absorbing the fact that she was now totally screwed.

She paused as she saw the toilet, and quickly crawled over to it. She gripped the seat and heaved- hard. But nothing came out. There was nothing to come out. But that didn't stop her from trying.

She kept doing that a few more times, before her anxiety caught up with her and forced her to fall back on to the floor, looking back around the rest of the room in a daze.

"H..help.." Roque said, to no one in particular, her voice was weak, scratchy, hoarse, and quiet.

Roque took a second to actually try and process and think. She seemed unharmed- and besides for the nausea inducing anxiety and general feeling of dread, she felt healthier than usual. That feeling only lasted until she finally realized that she had entirely changed clothes-...

The dreadful anxiety worsened, until it felt like it was a creature trying to claw itself out of her chest. She moved her hands up to try and stop it.

Her mouth opened and closed to speak multiple times, but she only let out awkward noises and partial sentences.

She went silent for a while, the only noise being her erratic breaths and the sound of her chains clanking as her chest heaved.

What followed was a sharp, cackling laugh, one punctured by brief fits of violent coughing.

Sitting cross-legged on the floor, less than a foot from Roque's sleeping mat, was a woman. She'd previously been leaning right over Roque's body, but had leaned upward as soon as she'd been swung at.

The light in the cell was dim, but not so dim that Roque would be unable to see the woman's appearance. She had tan skin that looked olive in the dim light, and brown-black hair cropped into a messy bob, strands of hair plastered to her face and neck with water and sweat. She only wore loose, green pants and golden armbands.

Though she seemed physically and bodily there, though she moved as if she were living, her body suggested otherwise. Something- or someone- had carved a long, deep gash from her neck to her lower abdomen, causing her guts to spill out messily over her lap. Exposed bone and intestine glistened lowly in the dim light. She was even rotting in a way Roque would be able to smell better than she could see.

"Good morning." The woman smiled sharply. Something black and ichorous dripped over her lips. Her voice was crisp, but otherwise... normal. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline (tw for corpse description/gross shit)

"Eugh- I was right about the zombies-" Roque crinkled up her nose. She wasn't scared of that thing, she'd seen and done a whole lot worse. But she was also usually quick to dispose of the body, much before it got to smelling this bad.

Roque pushed herself up to her feet, just so she could run away (to a different part of the cell) if she needed to.

"Hey guard lady, is this weird thing you let in supposed to be a punishment or something? Really weird choice to start with." She didn't recall hearing the door open, but.. maybe she was just sleeping that well. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

The woman pulled herself up from the ground just as Roque did. Bits of intestine and gut dropped down onto the floor as she moved. In the tiny cell, it was just the two of them, and not a lot of space left.

The woman still smiled. As Roque glanced to the door and addressed the guard- who did not reply- she said, in that crisp voice that honestly should've been damaged given what'd happen to her. "Look at me." @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Madeline stepped up to the door, but stayed a few feet away from it. She held her arm awkwardly at her side, messing with her fingers.

"Missed me already?" Roque asked from inside. Her footsteps approached the door, accompanied by the rattling of her chains.

".. Shut up." Madeline grumbled. She didn't have to be nice anymore, but it still felt wrong to be overly cruel.

And she couldn't ask anything about Petrai- not with Teya standing nearby. So she'd have to be vague.

"I just came to ask you a question now that you are incapable of harming anyone else."

"Uh huh. Go on with it already."

Madeline took in a deep breath and closed her eye.

"Why are you so cruel to people? What made you like that? What could you possibly gain from- from.. Being so awful.."

"That sounds like more than one question, Ms. Malodorous."

".. Ugh. Just tell me if you aren't going to say anything and I'll just leave. I'm giving you a chance to talk about yourself, I figured you'd jump on that." Madeline grumbled.

"Fine, fine. I do love talking about myself." Roque said. "You see, I just think it's funny. That's really all- seeing people get so mad, so worked up over something. It's hilarious. "Thank God." Teya sighed. "She's a lot. Just ignore anything she says that doesn't sound like an urgent cry for help. Did you get the prayerbook?"

A small slit beside the door opened, and the guard slid in a steaming bowl of fish-smelling soup, a small bread roll, and a glass of water. Roque would catch the slightest glimpse of the guard before it closed, and the hallway behind her- just like Teya had said, it really was all dark wood.

A short while later, Roque would hear the shuffling of another group of people coming down the hall- distinctly two pairs of footsteps, moving like they were carrying a body.

Titania awoke in a small, windowless cell that she barely fit inside of. The walls were wood-paneled, and the sliding door was currently locked shut. Beyond her door, she could hear the slightly muffled voice of a few guards, though she wouldn't immediately recognize either of them.. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

It was so dark, and cramped, and hard, and just overall, uncomfortable for Titania. It felt difficult to even breath with how small the space was for her. Everything was dark to her at first, but slowly, she managed to peel her eyes open. There was an attempt to even move her now lengthy limbs, but that was cut short when even the slightest shift seemed to bump against something.

A while after the changing of the guard, clipped footsteps could be heard coming down the hallway. Petrai's voice soon followed. "I need to move one of the prisoners." She announced to the guards.

"What? Which one? Why?" Astrid replied, her surprise evident in her voice.

"Roque." Petrai replied stiffly. "I need to... discuss some things with her. Yeonaixho's orders."

"Oh, uh- okay." Astrid replied hesitantly. "But we don't have the necessary personelle for a prisoner transfer-"

Roque wouldn't be able to tell if Petrai's face changed any from her cell, but the woman did fall silent.

"Petrai-" Astrid began.

"Don't listen to her." Petrai retorted. She took a few more steps towards Roque's cell, fumbled with keys for a moment, and slid open the heavy door.

Roque would get her first glance out into the hallway. It had dark furnishings, and her view looked directly out onto another cell. The view was obscured by Petrai, wearing a cloak over her shoulders and holding her crossbow. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Roque was sitting in the back corner of her cell, her legs pulled up to her chest and her arms resting on either side of her. Her hair was a mess, strewn all around her in strange chunks.

"You kill me in here everyone's gonna know that it's because what I've been saying is true, birdie. Think about it." Roque shrugged, staring at Petrai. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Petrai loaded her crossbow, drew it, and aimed it towards Roque. In a soft voice, just loud enough that Roque would be able to hear her but not loud enough the guards would hear, she said, "Then it's a good thing you won't die here."

Before Roque could answer, she fired her crossbow directly into the woman's shoulder. Instead of the sharp, aching pain she might've expected from the crossbow bolt, Roque would immediately feel a odd numbing sensation, starting around her fresh wound and radiating outwards. Soon, she'd be unable to speak or move without considerable effort. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Roque stared down the crossbow, glaring at it for the split second before it was fired.

"Ow! Shit- haven't felt something like that in... eughh.." Roque tried to move her hand up to the wall to brace herself, but she couldn't even move her arm up. Her eyelids settled down after some fighting against the fatigue and her body tipped over on to her left side on the ground. Once Roque had collapsed, Petrai stepped into her cell and checked over her, holding her jaw in her hand for just a moment. Once deeming Roque had been neutralized enough, Petrai began to drag her out of the cell and down the hallway... @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Only a while later, more frantic footsteps came down the hall.

"Astrid! Teya!" Yeonaixho shouted, far more anxious and frantic than anyone in the cells had heard him before. "Where's Roque?"

"Wh- Yeonaixho-" Astrid stammered. "She's with- I thought- Petrai came here to take her to you?"

"Shit. Fuck." Yeonaixho cursed. "Do you know where they went?"

"... no. Not specifically. They went down the south corridor, though." Astrid provided.

"That's- okay." Yeonaixho sighed. "Stay here. I'll handle this." He ran back down the hall.

A while later, Yeonaixho came back through the prison halls, walking slower than he had before. He carried Roque's unconcious body over her shoulders. The most notable difference was that she was now missing her hair, but a blindfold had also been wrapped over her eyes.

"Yeonaixho? What happened to Roque- is Petrai okay?" Astrid asked.

"Petrai's fine." Yeonaixho said. "Interogations went sour."

He dropped Roque back in her cell, and locked her handcuffs over her hands again. "She'll be out for a while."

Come morning time, it seemed that Roque had finally had enough of sleeping. The magic part to her unconsciousness had worn off a while before, but she had no want to be awake at the moment.

Roque moved her hand up to the bandana covering her eyes, her entire body shaking with pure rage. She knew they were gone, but feeling it with her own hand, oh boy. She yanked the bandana off and tossed it across the room, but it only fluttered a foot or two before falling to the ground.

I think the only reason Yeonaixho stepped in was because he still wants to use me or whatever, or maybe because I broke out of the restraints and gouged out Petrai's eyes with my nails right before he came in. Guessing he fixed her eyes already. Couldn't be bothered to get to mine even though Petrai started it. Not to mention she shaved off all my hair and shattered my hands with a mace. Roque stood up and approached the door, her posture hunched as hell as she felt ahead with her feet. She had come to understand the layout of her cell pretty well in the dark, so being blind wasn't that much of a change in here.

Once she was a few feet from the door, she yanked on her chains, but they didn't budge. The echo they made was pretty loud, though.

"Why don't you come in here and take a look at your boss' handiwork for yourself? You'll have to describe it to me," @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Astrid reacted to the sudden movement, taking a few steps back and gasping but once she determined Roque hadn't actually escaped she relaxed her posture. She didn't say anything. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

"I can hear you out there just fine. I know you can hear me too." She said, once again pulling on her chains. It was harder- louder this time- but those chains were strong. "What do you think Petrai would do if I escaped on your watch, hmm? I mean, clearly you wouldn't need your eyes anymore, seeing as you can't even keep watch over one person.. And not your hands to hold your weapon I bet you're holding. Not your legs to run after me. Maybe she would have some mercy on you and grant you a swift death."

She hit one of her chains against the stone wall.

"A quick bolt to the skull. I bet that would kill quickly. Maybe you'd only feel pain for a few excruciating moments, if you're lucky." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

With one final tug, Roque snapped the right chain. The cuff stayed on her hand, but the chain shattered, sending little fragments of metal across the room before the bulk of it smashed on to the ground.

Teya just planted herself into a defensive pose, trident at the ready.

A few minutes later, Astrid returned with another person, identifiable by voice to be Fio. "Astrid told me what happened on the way here. I've brought the sedative."

"Good." Teya nodded. "Astrid, you'll restrain her. I'll administer. Fio, you're backup."

Well, that just meant her show had to be short and sweet then. Not a problem. Maybe if any of the guards were men she'd be more worried, but through some kind of random chance, she got lucky. Almost as soon as the door slid open, Astrid stepped into the tiny cell and moved to restrain Roque, forcing her to remain sitting down. Teya entered after her and faced Roque. It was a tight fit with the three of them all in the tiny cell. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Roque didn't even resist.

As Astrid sat down behind her, Roque leaned back in to her. Not hard, just.. A gentle lean. Her hands moved up to rest on top of Astrid's with a surprising amount of gentleness, and she craned her head back so her empty eyes would be looking back at Astrid's face. She paid Teya no mind.

"Oh, it really won't be too much to ask. I'll even keep all the vulgarity out of it, for your precious little ears." Roque said. She moved her hand up Astrid's arm, slowly tracing her fingers up her sleeve until her hand rested on her shoulder. She messed with her hair a little. "Your hair is lovely, too, by the way. I haven't had braids in in Hell knows how long. Too much upkeep with hair like mine. Maybe if I have time and it grows back in I'll try it out again." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Astrid bristled under Roque's touch. Her body was strangely warm, slightly from embarrased flush, sligtly from her powers charging reflexively. Her grip loosened on Roque's arms.

Roque smiled and rested her clammy, dirty palm on Astrid's face. She leaned against her further.

"When I eventually die here, could you get a picture? A picture of my mutilated, mangled, and maimed corpse in all its gore and glory?" She said in a sing-song voice, tapping on Astrid's cheek. "I have a post-death album that's already all finished except for my beautiful photograph on the cover. When my team gets the picture they'll know what to do with it. "If you die here, no one on the mainland will find out." Teya replied coldly, and pulled forth Roque's arm. She slid the needled under Roque's skin, and administered the sedative. Soon, Roque would enter a state of numbness. Though she still retained some lucidity, she'd find it difficult to move or speak. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Her expression hardened a bit as Teya grabbed her arm, but it wasn't anger, more like annoyance.

"Dear, they'd.." She squeezed her eyes shut finally, not liking the feeling of the sedative at all. Reminded her too much of how Yeonaixho's hold felt. She let all of her weight lean against Astrid as she went numb, her hand slipping down and resting on her arm again. "Figure it out.. Eventually..." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

As Roque slumped back, Astrid caught her, standing up and carrying Roque in her arms. She and Teya left the cell.

"Take her to the infirmirary." Teya ordered Astrid, who nodded. "Fio and I will stay here and fix the chains.

Peregrine awoke in a dark, tiny cell, with no view out and handcuffs restraining him to the wall. In the time he'd been unconscious, he'd been changed into a simple gray tunic, and the wounds on his back had been bandaged.

As soon as Peregrine was conscious enough to remember what happened, he continued what had started in the ritual room - he began to scream, no longer speaking, nothing coherent anyway. He tried to pull against the handcuffs in his distress, his movements feverish as he writhed, perhaps a little too fast for himself as his anguished cries became mixed with the pain he wasn't paying attention to. It didn't matter that his head hurt or his back felt stabbed with knives or even that the cuffs were pulling against his hands to keep them in place. All that mattered were his wings - and they were gone.

Peregrine... did not really respond. If anything he just screamed louder as if trying to shut out Judas' voice, and what he could hear of Roque's laughter. His screams were the sort that ebbed out into hoarse sobs, and there was a second where he breathed before the cycle continued. He continued to pull against his handcuffs, violently yanking his hands as if trying to break them - the cuffs or his wrists, it didn't seem to matter to Peregrine.

It took Peregrine a little while to realise Yeonaixho had entered the dungeon again, his mind fogged with despair over his loss. Not this feeling again. Especially not here, where Otto wasn't available to snap him out of it and he couldn't do anything about it.

But as his ears finally picked up on the real world, and heard Roque speak- then heard Yeonaixho speak, his mind shifted focus. His throat still sore and scratchy, that despair came out as hoarse screams once again, and he violently thrashed against the handcuffs once again. He was yelling but none of the words were really coherent but it was fair to assume that he was insulting yet begging Yeonaixho at the same time. Go king.

He had to take several attempts to get up - he was so much lighter without wings, and he'd spent his entire life accounting for them.
