Armand wakes in a dark, square room. The floor is dirt, but he's sitting on a woven rug. The walls are stone brick, and enclose him on every side. There’s no way in, and no way out. The room is suffocatingly warm, dark and dry. Armand would soon begin to feel thirst clawing at their throat. He'd wake laying on his side, and soon realize he's been chained- ankle cuffs tether him to the ground and restrict his movement. Before Armand, sat a small, low table, covered by a rug similar to the one they sat upon. Two oil lamps flicker at either ends of the table, their small lights the only in the room. The only other objects on the table are three small wooden bowls, all filled with an unidentifiable liquid. The first is white, opaque and creamy. The second is glassy and clear, with a slight cloudy, brownish color to it. The third is just as opaque as the first, but is a deep, muddy red in color. Across from the table is the only other person in the room. A woman. She appears to be middle aged, with warm, pale skin and brown, graying curls spilling over her shoulders. She wears a simple, cream-colored dress, with a long red vest over it. Her gaze is melancholy, almost distant, as she makes eye contact with Armand. The woman takes in a heavy breath, and finally speaks. Her voice is not that of the flaming apparition. “Welcome to the Halcyon Citadel.” @Gab || Armand 🐠|Zhi-Yin 🌬

The white bowl was.... milk! Goat's milk! Armand couldn't tell a single thing about the brown, glassy one. Not a clue what that is. Could be anything. The red bowl was blood. Just blood. Yup. @Gab || Armand 🐠|Zhi-Yin 🌬

Arm would open his eyes slowly, grateful for the lack of light. He struggled against the cuffs as he made an attempt to sit up, noting the table and each of their contents. And as soon as he did, the thirst set in. He coughed and hacked as the dryness of the room hit him. He had a choice. The water looked kinda dirty. He could go for the milk, but it'll be more fatty than hydrating. And the blood. "What... the fuck?" The words escaped his mouth in between fits of coughing. He couldn't help but notice the figure in the room as well. If there were different circumstances, he would be eyeing the stranger up and down. But right now, he was stuck between the thought of going for the milk or risking whatever was in the mysterious glass. And who knows, all three could be drugged. @innsjo | kyrie🪶+ darcy🖋+npcs

The woman put her hands over the bowls, trying to divert Armand's attention from them. "Hello. We'll get to these in a second." She said. "I need to talk to you first." @Gab || Armand 🐠|Zhi-Yin 🌬

Armand almost growled as the thirst was becoming overpowering. "Then start talking." @innsjo | kyrie🪶+ darcy🖋+npcs

The woman didn't seem intimidated in the slightest. "You've been brought here, by my predecessor, to compete in a tournament. It is likely you will not leave with your life." @Gab || Armand 🐠|Zhi-Yin 🌬

Soup time. Lovely. Armand let out a breath of relief as the broth entered his system. The burning, dry feeling likely lingered, but he appeared to feel better after taking a drink.
