Asha arrived at the refectory bright and early. Well, she had woken up even earlier and pumped some bottles which she gave to some random attendant, before getting a plate of food that seemed safe enough. Kal made his way into the refectory, humming a jolly little tune and bouncing his head along to it. With his hands, he slapped his thighs to the beat of the song. Too into the music in his brain, he didn't notice Asha at first, and simply went and served himself a plate of food. It was when he was done that he turned around to look for a seat when he finally spotted Asha. "Oh- Asha! Good morning," Kal greeted with a wave. He remembered Ryu's words to not be so energetic, so he'd do his best to keep his energy down to a chill level. @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

"Yeah, I get that," Kal nodded his head as he set his plate down. He grabbed a piece of bacon and chewed it, swallowing first before he spoke again. "You got tons of reasons to fight, I understand." @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

"Mm. And apparently these fights are.. to the death. And even if you kill me, Kal, you can't win. So.. You should let me win." Asha said and folded her hands in front of her. "If I die with my powers, I'll blow up. You, and anyone else in that arena, will die with me." @Vanessa | Cansu🐥+Evan🔩+Kal🌟

"Yes, a lot like a bomb. Usually the leaders of my village give away their powers as soon as they show signs of death, since the destruction of the blast is.. A lot." Asha sighed. "I don't intend on giving my powers away again. Under any circumstances." "So.. Will you let me win, Kal..?" Asha asked earnestly. "I-i need to get home to my family, and my people. I'll try my hardest to get us out of here- I did it back on Chen's, and I'll do it again. Kal looked at his plate of breakfast. Once more, he grabbed a piece of bacon and ate it. When he spoke, his voice was quieter. "I heard you had a baby," Kal offered her a small smile. "Congrats, Asha. What's your baby's name, if you don't mind me asking?" @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

... He wasn't going to just lay down and die. She had to respect it, but that would just mean that his end would be much less.. Easy. For both of them. Killing people who did not move with her powers was easy, she had done it before. But if Kal was moving and jumping around like he always did, she would have a much harder time. Her shoulders slumped a bit and she glanced down at her own plate of mostly untouched food. "Mm.. Yeah, five weeks ago, Kaisa.. Then four years ago, Dekha. And six, Lupita.. And my brother Asher is doing well." Asha said. "And two of my friends back home adopted one of the orphaned village kids a few years back too." "Everything was going pretty well in Mlipuko.. The population has been rising again." Asha said. "I was just supposed to be leaving on a relaxing weekend trip when I was taken.. "Kaisa! That's a good name," Kal's smile widened into a genuine grin. "Dekha, and Lupita, too! Great taste. And I'm glad to hear that your brother's doing well, too!" "It sounds like everything's going well for you," Kal smiled. He looked down to his hands. ".. Or, that it was going well for you. I'm sorry that you're not with your family, that you're not home, and that you're not going on a weekend trip." He took in a deep breath. "I really don't want to fight either, I'm obviously not in a condition to win against an opponent as fit as you are trying his hardest to win. “It’s a beautiful name,” Kal hummed. “I really, really don’t wanna fight. Maybe I can try and work something out with one of the people working here? Then, we won’t have to, and things’ll be okay.” At Asha’s question, Kal gave a shake of his head. “Nothing. I got nothing and no one- Just the channel. I got a dog, though. Border collie. He’s chilling at a friend’s house. Marriage- That’s been kinda out of the question for me. Lot of people wanna get married because I have money or they’re big fans, but I don’t think I wanna date a fan or someone who’s money hungry. "Kal, I can usually appreciate your positivity, but I don't think being blindly optimistic will be helpful here. I need to be realistic." Asha said. “Yeah, you do have more things to get back to than I do,” Kal paused. “I got.. Something maybe going for me, something kinda big and new. Some weird guy here has some answers for me, so that might affect things back home. It’s complicated and messy though.” “But yeah, we can change the subject,” Kal cleared his throat. “It’s been doing alright! Still getting a lot of donations from the streams I do, so my city’s been doing really well. Kal, unable to help himself, burst into laughter. The young man laughed and wrapped an arm around his stomach when it started to ache. “No, no no, no, I don’t,” His laughter turned into giggles. Asha didn't really laugh back, kind of just staring on at Kal. It was a genuine guess, what internet celebrity as handsome as him didn't have a mystery bastard child out there somewhere? "Your dad? I thought your dad was a deadbeat good for nothing loser, if what you told me your mom told you is true.." Asha said. "Is he causing more problems? “I don’t know if he’s harming any more women,” Kal spoke seriously. His smile entirely disappeared. “I barely know anything about him, other than what you’ve already said. Apparently, there’s this freaky guy here who spoke to me at the party. He said he knew about him , about me, and was being really weird about things. "Marco.. Well, that's not a very helpful name. Your dad could be one of millions of.. Marco's out there." Asha said, her tone much closer to Kal's serious one. "Think he's your brother or something? “I know,” Kal ran a hand through his dark hair. “It’s such a common name. I’m sure he’s got a last name that might set him apart, but I don’t know it.” He paused for a moment. “A brother? I don’t know- My Ma didn’t have any other sons, but maybe Marco had children? So my half brother? But he’s so weird- He’s got, like, the whites of his eyes are black, and he’s got gold feathers in his hair, and he’s creepily mysterious. “If that guy’s a demon, he’s gotta not mess with me. When we touched, it felt like he electrocuted me or something.
