asha wakes

Asha wakes laying on a bedroll in a small room. It’s hardly comfortable, but it’s something. There’s no sign of the Lifebringer- or anyone, really. She'd soon realize her clothes have been changed- gone is whatever she was wearing before, replaced by a simple, robelike outfit entirely in white. Morning light filters in from the window, casting the entire small room in a dewy haze. The room is tiny- big enough only to fit the bedroll, a small basin for washing, a chest at the foot of the bedroll, and a low, small writing desk, on which is a folded piece of paper, labeled with Asha’s name, a clay tablet, and a porcelain face mask. The entire room is furnished in plain white tile, and opposite the window is a stone-paneled door leading out. The letter on the desk is written in ornate, swirling script, reads as follows:

Welcome, Asha Eliudyouri Issa!

It is my pleasure to welcome you, not only to the Halcyon Citadel, but to the Snakes! You have been selected, by the Great and Divine Lifebringer, to serve and compete alongside your fellow serpentine contestants and under my gracious leadership. If you have any concerns or run into any trouble, please do not hesitate to bring it to my attention. I’m very excited to meet you all! 

Please wear the mask provided, as it is part of your uniform!

The mask was of white porcelain, and would sit on Asha’s face without falling, held there by some kind of magic. It only covered her eyes and upper face, and mirrored the look of a snake’s face. Despite no eye-holes, Asha would be able to see clearly even with the mask on. The clay tablet was just too big to be held in one hand, and was accompained by a small stylus for writing. Its surface displayed the #group-chat, and would update magically as more messages were sent. Asha's packed bag of medical supplies was sitting ontop of the chest, with everything she'd packed, save for any clothing items, food, or unnecessary electronics. On top is another handwritten note:

I hope this is enough to last you a while. If you need more, please contact me.

If Asha investigated the chest, she'd find something curious. The chest is filled mostly with linens- bedding, towels, spare outfits, but at the top is her purse. Everything was there, but her cell phone. (edited)

Asha awoke, somewhat in a daze. Had she been dreaming before..? A hot flash and then passing out.. She'd need to tell Roman to take her to the hospital in the city, this hadn't happened the two other times.. Or maybe she was already there..? This didn't feel like what she was wearing before. This thing she was laying on also wasn't comfortable, even worse than a usual hospital bed. She slowly opened her eyes, and as she saw the room she was in, her breath caught in her throat. This wasn't home. This wasn't the hospital. This was another fucking tournament, and everything that she had wished was a dream was painfully real. She slowly pushed herself up to a sitting position, and winced, putting her hand over her chest... Wait, what was this she was wearing? A robe..? this was not appropriate chest support for her right now. She looked around the room and noted her medical bag, the basin, chest, and window.. The medical bag was her first priority. She pushed herself to the edge of the bed and grabbed it, sorting through to try to find her medicines and maybe a spare bra.. No bra, but all her medicine was there. She quickly took some of her pain management pills dry and looked in to the chest. Ah, some spare linens. That would have to work to make a makeshift bra after she got some pumping done. Hopefully Albanes would keep that promise to actually send it, who knows how long she had been asleep for now.. Her chest ached liked it had been a while. She scanned over the note.. Gross, Serpentine.. 'That weird snake better not be here..' She had no intention of putting that mask on over her face, or messing with that tablet for now, so she decided to just get to pumping and try to find Albanes after..
