Zhi Yin wakes laying on a bedroll in a small room. It’s hardly comfortable, but it’s something. There’s no sign of the Lifebringer- or anyone, really. He'd soon realize his clothes have been changed- gone is whatever he was wearing before, replaced by a simple, robelike outfit entirely in black. Morning light filters in from the window, casting the entire small room in a dewy haze. The room is tiny- big enough only to fit the bedroll, a small basin for washing, a chest at the foot of the bedroll, and a low, small writing desk, on which is a folded piece of paper, labeled with Zhi Yin’s name, a clay tablet, and a porcelain face mask. The entire room is furnished in plain black tile, and opposite the window is a stone-paneled door leading out. The letter on the desk is written in small, neat script, reads as follows: Welcome, Zhi-Yin Chang-boyauro Luo. You have been invited to compete in the Lifebringer’s tournament, in this, their hallowed domain. Not only have you received this honor, you have also been selected to compete alongside the Birds, under my leadership. If you have any concerns, or anything suspicious to report, please alert it to my presence. I will be watching you. Please wear the mask provided, as it is part of your uniform. Your Leader, Kairas Krosanyouri The mask was of black porcelain, and would sit on Zhi-Yin’s face without falling, held there by some kind of magic. It only covered his eyes and upper faced, and mirrored the look of a bird’s face. Despite no eye-holes, Zhi-Yin would be able to see clearly even with the mask on. The clay tablet was just too big to be held in one hand, and was accompained by a small stylus for writing. Its surface displayed the #group-chat, and would update magically as more messages were sent. If [Zhi-Yin investigated the chest, he'd find something curious. The chest is filled mostly with linens- bedding, towels, spare outfits, but at the top are small jars containing both his personal blend of medicines, as well as ingredients to make the most basic of remedies. His jeweled hairpins sat next to them. (edited)

Zhi-Yin rose slowly. The comfort of the bed was hardly an issue, but the disorientation was another thing entirely. He tried his best to remember his last waking moments. "Of course... a tournament to the death.... kind of them to provide us with accomodations I suppose." He took a deep breath and inspected the room, slowly taking note of the clay tablet and mask. "A curious sort. Strange that some already know each other. Not entirely sure if I should find this comforting or concerning." He looked down, picking up the letter and reading it dilligently. A uniform, huh? He placed the letter down and decided to go for the chest before he reached for the mask. Just in case. As he opened the chest, he breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of his familiar ingredients, but his heart dropped at the sight of the hairpins. How did they-? Before realizing he snatched up the hairpins, feeling the metal and jewels in his hands before carefully setting them within his belt... sash thing. With a more careful hand, he gathered his medicines and ingredients, storing them within the folds of the robe itself. Finally feeling ready, he looked towards the mask. Picking it up, he ran his fingers over the grooves of the bird's features. "A bird, not the worst animal to be aligned with." He placed the mask carefully on his face, startled when he noticed that it was now immaculately placed on his face... and didn't seem to budge. But... he could breathe. He could see. How curious... he could see perfectly fine. But there was no way for that to be possible. "Sorcery... I'm not sure why I'm surprised." He stood up, slowly walking through the door and heading out into the larger citadel.
