MASKTOURN

One of the many meandering temple corridors is obscured by thick, hazy clouds. It looks the same as all the other corridors, with nothing to distinguish it from the clean, empty hallways but the still, thick, greenish air hanging within it.

As someone approaches the corridor, they’ll become overwhelmed with the stench of rot, and an unpleasant pain cloying at their throat and lungs. Perhaps, it’s best not to venture down this way…

There was definitely something weird and godly going on about that hallway! Roman would feel a slight repulsion, like the feeling one gets when they see a diseased or rotting body. @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

After Roman had shut the door of the immersion chamber room, he paused in the hallway and looked down both ways of the hallway. He stood there for a few good moments, humming and putting a hand on his chin. He slooooowly moved out- the opposite way of the exit. There was no reply, at first. After a while, as he continued down the hall, he'd begin to hear a soft, weary moaning sound- though it was so quiet, it could've been his imagination. @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱 (2/7 success)

His ears perked at hearing the noise. There was someone- "Oh- I'm coming!" He took off in a full sprint, abandoning the nose pinching so he could run faster.

"Eugh- ough-" He coughed and placed a hand on the wall to keep himself from falling over. "I-i'm still.. coming!" He tried to keep going, but his pace was a bit slower now.

He stumbled over his feet and tripped on to the floor with a grunt. He laid there for a moment and decided to keep going- but this time crawling. If the gas was floating, maybe it wouldn't be so bad right above the floor..?

Well, it army-crawling actually worked! Though his movements were slower, he continued on, reaching the end of the hallway. And at the end of the hallway was an otherwise unadorned white wall... with a door. It wasn't like the other doors he'd seen in the acropolis- it was downright plain compared to the grandeur of the door to the immersion chamber. It didn't even look like it fit there- it was a modern, plywood-looking regular door, with a peeling white paint job and a slightly dented handle. It was decorated with signs and posters- like a door to a child's bedroom, but what was a child's bedroom doing here? @Mads | Roman 🥁 Asha 🎆 ? 🪱

Roman hardly noticed that he had reached the end of the hallway as he wheezed, until the top of his head bumped in to the plywood. "Ow-" He mumbled and twisted his head to the side. A.. Wood door, here? Why? And a kid's door, too? "I-i'm coming!" Roman announced after he cleared his throat. He tried to keep his head low to the ground as he reached his hand up to the door handle and tried to open it.. @innsjo | kyrie🪶+ darcy🖋+npcs

He kept trying the handle, and used his other hand to knock on the door. He was pretty sure he didn't have the strength to crawl all the way back out the hallway right now. He hoped, against all logic, that the inside of the room would give him a chance to breathe. "K-kid if you're- you're in there, you need to let me in, I'll help you."
