Eben was listlessly walking around the boat, now unable to face his partners after walking away from them. He had his coat and gloves back. He had a tiredness about him that seemed somehow more severe than when he'd started here. He looked like he'd given up.

Despite his state it would've been difficult not to notice Glass, curled on the ground. He had no clue whether she wanted company and frankly didn't care, though must have figured she had the right idea by the way he also lowered himself to lay down on the deck, though he wasn't curled in, and was staring upward.

He wasn't typically one to speak first, but he wanted to be by Glass right now. someone who could know.

Glass's sobbing lulled as Eben neared her, opening only one eye to see who it was. Thank god- not the weird blind lying guy, but some god- that it was Eben. The only person in the world who knew.

Though her voice was weak from screaming and crying, she managed a shaky. "Y- you too, huh?" @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Eben just nodded.

He felt a lot of sympathy for Glass, only because he'd seen what it took to get her powers out, He couldn't imagine what she went through having them forced back. He supposed he himself was lucky in that respect, though he'd have much rathered any amount of pain than what ended up happening.

"It wasn't worth it, was it? If in the end we'd just...end up right back here" His voice was hoarse, like he too had been screaming, and shaky, when it was typically so sure.

Eben was quiet but oh so angry. "And the worst part is I wasn't ready, I wasn't prepared for when they came back- and now I've hurt people, and its all because I believed him. I should've petrified him when I had the chance, even if it was temporary. Just so he could know what this feels like."

"I guess we'll never know." Eben coughed, it was a rougher sound than normal. He did not believe in God, but what he did believe was that any god worth the title would sooner cut off their own hand than allow it to be Yeonaixho.

Glass remained silent for a good long while. Only after a few days, Eben would've gotten to know Glass well enough to understand this silence wasn't usual for her.

He certainly had, but he understood why she was silent and didn't feel the need to break it.

He turned his head to face her, and judging by his expression was a little surprised by the request, but then his face softened, and he sat up a bit. Who else would he be able to hug, and when? Not likely him and Glass could stick around eachother. He had the mind to warn her that he might scrape her, but he hadn't known her to be the kind to care.

"Yes, please do." He asked, holding his arms out a bit.

Glass's tense form visibly softened- at least, it softened as much as glass could. She pulled herself up from the ground, and almost fell into Eben's waiting arms.

It was not a warm hug. It was hardly even a comfortable hug- glass against stone made for a lot of stiff, awkward bumping- but it was human contact. It was an embrace. Glass held Eben as tightly as she could, and lingered there as long as he wanted to. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

It was a better hug than he could ask of anyone. He embraced her immediately, doing his best to be soft, not to hurt. It seemed he did not want to let go so long as Glass didn't either, he eventually let his head fall onto her shoulder, softer side of his face resting there for comforts sake. Of course it felt awkward or stiff in parts, but that was the nature of these two.

Glass leaned fully into Eben, savoring every moment of this simple interaction. She, unlike him, was not forbidden from human contact. She had felt physical affection like this before. Eben stayed silent for a while, and he still didn't let go of the embrace. At a few points he jolted or shuddered, like a sob but not audible. After his feelings had died down a little and it felt like Glass was similarly spent, he spoke again.

"Can I ask your advice on something?" He sounded hesitant.

Eben was yet again hesitant, deciding it had been a bad idea to ask the second she replied. He couldn't exactly back out now.

"Maybe you don't have advice, and you can tell me that. But you've- been dealing with this longer than I have." He paused to shift a little, just so speaking was easier. His hug was looser now.

"How do you tell people that you can't really be 'cured', however adamant they are that you can? How do you stop them from having false hope?"

This was a fact that Eben had only recently come to terms with when he'd entered the tournament, and he'd had to come to terms with it again in the rough span of an hour. He couldn't fathom explaining it to someone right now, he'd never had to. Maybe Glass had.

Glass sighed, and thought for a moment. "Most of the people I know, who I'm actually close with, they were around when we figured that what was happening to me was gonna kill me." She sighed. "I usually just say to people, it's like a terminal illness. You can't fix it."

"If they argue with you... just say you know your body better than they do, I guess. I don't know... I try not to get into those types of conversations. Too... painful, I guess." @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Eben's typical demeanor had already been reset to, though he supposed a relatively blank or distant state was far easier to return to than Glass's preferred demeanor.

He really didn't have much to say right now, though his emotions were much better in check than previously.

It took some time, but eventually Roy spotted Eben sitting with Glass. He approached them carefully, heavying his steps so he doesn’t accidentally sneak up on them.

Eben looked up as Roy spoke, and despite how little he felt he could still feel the heat of shame down his neck at the sight of the other two. As Glass pulled away, he stood again.

Ebens shoulders dropped a little bit, though he did look a bit intrigued by the idea, but nevertheless he spoke.

"I would like to hear about it, but I would prefer if we waited until we were a bit more settled before trying to find anything like that" he told them, looking at Inu specifically.

Eben listened to both of them. "It's possible it could help, and I'd like to look into it," he replied to Glass. "If it took your ability to transmute, perhaps it'll take mine as well."

Eben wasn't certain of that at all, his abilities seemed to have a different source than most others- coming mainly from science rather than magic. He has heard the term that magic is simply not-yet-understood science, however.

It looked like he was pondering for a moment. He still seemed to find it hard to look directly at Roy specifically.
