The docks were boring, Peregrine decided, and he should have waited a little longer until the more interesting looking people were free. Maybe he should have waited until the boat arrived and been the true last person to arrive. He'd have made some sort of scene.
But he hadn't waited, and these people were too... well, to put it nicely, they simply didn't know what they had, with him there. Most others would have basked in the presence of an angel - the Angel, nonetheless - but they just kept on... mingling. And not even very well. No one gained anything from anyone. They were amateurs.
So, Peregrine stepped closer into the crowd and grabbed the shoulder of anyone who was worth catching his eye. "You've not had the pleasure of meeting me, have you?"
