Roy lead the group, wanting to get out as soon as he could. His hands were gripping his sleeves, but he tried to have an easygoing look on his face. “Phew, sure is frosty out here! Ha, wonder why they picked winter for this, rather cold.”

A shudder ran through him, but he tried to hide it. At home, discharging was a part of his morning routine, he was hours overdue and it was really starting to sting. He looked around for an open area.

Inu shuddered slightly as they all stepped outside. Although he tried to hide it, he couldn't. Inu stepped a bit closer to Roy and looked around, eyeing the surrounding area. "Its pretty nice outside aside from the chill.." He mused.

Isi looked perfectly at home in the cold, not even wearing a cloak. They eyed Roy with concern, sort of leading the group on a more secluded path, free of most buildings.

Nowhere was open enough. Just walls and some dead gardens. Hard to imagine with the chill that this place can grow flowers and food. Another shiver racked his body, but he shook his head and played it off. “H-ha! You’re a tough one, Isi! It’s real cold for me! Sort of refreshing though, ha.”

One hand moved off his sleeve and stretched. A few small sparks ran across his fingers. He appreciated being able to move, but he might need to step away and figure out a safe place to discharge soon.

"C-Chilly.." Inu whispered softly. "Mm...I-I am not built for..for the cold w-weather.." He pulled the cloak closer to him, letting out a small laugh. "But...but..I am happy to see you like it...mm...Isi.." He shook his head as he continued to walk around.

Inu turned to Roy for a moment before he gave him a small worried look. "...Roy..a-are you..okay..?"

At his friend’s concerns, he seemed shocked. As if he wasn’t used to people caring about his pain. “Y-yeah. It’s..” He flexed his hand again. “I.. don’t want to hit any of the buildings. That Petrai lady would be even more pissed at me if I did.” He had dropped that smile from before, looking worried. “…maybe that courtyard will be big enough?”

Another shiver, with each it became harder to hide. He shook out his hand, small sparks flowing.

"Mhm." Inu nodded and with a small flick of his wrist a portal opened and he gestured to it. "The portals...is kinda like a in-between...it uhm. It won't hurt or anything. It's a blank space...think of it like an empty room...that way it won't conduct...mmm..or anything..."

Isi tilted her head, looking into the portal. Her ears lowered a little.

"That's kinda spooky, but- really cool! And, it should help, right? Especially since it's probably not a great idea to go way out onto the island with the temperature and all" she looked at Roy.

Isi could probably protect the group just fine from any wildlife on the island and she herself did fine in the cold, but definitely not them.

He stared curiously at the portal, before reaching his hand out to touch it. Small sparks came off his hands, and harmlessly fell into the portal. “Wow…” He stood in awe for a moment. “…do you want me to go in there, or…?”

Inu nodded and opened the portal more before he stepped through it.

Inside the portal looked to be a blank empty space, a completely white room with a few things scattered about...a mattress with a pillow and blanket..some supplies...seems like Inu made a small home here.

He looked to the items within the portal. Maybe this was where Inu had lived while he was “wandering”.

The emptiness of the space was strange to him. Was there an end to this place? Looking the space, it seemed like he could keep walking forever, until he was lost. The thought scared him, he shook his head quickly and stepped through. Inu wouldn’t hurt him.

“Ha… um. I don’t want to hurt y’all, so… I can’t- with me bein…” Fuck how does he phrase this. He’s an uncontrollable mess? Another shiver suddenly racks his body, sparks flowing from him. “Ha… just. Don’t stand close to me. I don’t want to hurt y’all.” Christ, it hurts. But he waits until his friends are at a safe distance.

He quickly shucked his coat off and stepped farther away, wanting to be sure he wouldn’t hurt his friends. He took a deep breath and allowed the electricity to escape. His scars began glowing, but flickered, like an overcharged lightbulb. He attempted to focus the lighting into his hands, but the unruly volts had other ideas.

Instead of the control he showed on the boat, the lightning shot wildly around Roy. Crackling arcs tore through the air, searching for something to connect to in the blank void. Roy’s arms shook as he attempted to wrangle the lightning once more.

The electricity calmed slightly, darting down his arms and into his palms. Roy gathered the electricity into balls of light, his hands shaking with the strain. He forced the lightning into one ball and threw it into the emptiness. It roared as it shot out into the void.

Roy panted, looking as if he just ran a marathon. His scars still flickered, and he winced as he fell on one knee.

As soon as Roy dropped to a knee, Inu was at his side in an instant. "R-Roy!" He shouted concerned. Inu hand's floated above Roy for a few seconds before he frowned. He didn't really know what to do.

"Roy-? Roy-! Roy- are you- are you okay-? Are you- are you hurt-?"

Over the slight ringing in his ears he could hear someone approaching. He was shaking like a leaf. “‘m fine… no more… hurt than usual.” The pain had died down significantly, only a bit more than the usual ache. “Is… is everyone alright?” He turned to Inu, along with his glowing scars, his eyes shone a dim grey.

He couldn’t see Inu’s face, his vision was blurred. A sigh escaped him. He hoped that this episode wouldn’t last long.

Isi stood back as Roy's lightning storm began. They found themselves just as mesmerized by the sight as on the boat, and their hairs stood on end from being so close.

They were staring so much they didn't realize the bolts were getting more volatile until one hit them. Now, Isi was no stranger to pain, and had the scars to show it- however they'd never experienced anything like this before. It knocked the wind out of them and sent them to their knees, too stunned to make a sound. Over the ringing in her ears she could vaguely smell something burnt.

It took her a moment to even register that the other two were speaking as her head cleared. She felt all numb. They did hear Roy's question, giving a mildly slurred " 'm okay" in response, still not getting up.

As inconvenient his powers tended to be, one good thing came out of them. He learned quickly that he was able to sense things with electroreception, so he wasn’t completely fucked when his vision failed.

With it, he realized Inu was rather close to him, but Isi was… kneeling? He heard her say something, but missed it under the ringing in his ears. The abrupt scent of burnt hair hit him and he cringed. “Shit- I’m sorry! You okay?” He tried to turn towards where Isi was, but probably ended up just shouting in Inu’s face.

Speaking of assaults on Inu’s senses, the small sparks still remaining on Roy responded to his sudden stress. A volt shot out, quickly arcing towards Inu and shocking him.

Inu let out a small shriek of surprise mixed with pain as handful of sparks leapt at him. Oh.

Ow. That hurt. Inu fell backwards and scooted back slightly, wincing in pain as thoughts buzzed in his head. He felt his ears begin to ring and he felt his body grow hot. Why? Inu couldn't put his finger on it.

The surrounding area around them began to morph though...portals opening here and there, if Isi and Roy had the chance to look through them, the area certainly did not look familiar.

Some portals led outside, others inside, some even provided a view of the loud bustling city...all the noise certainly wasn't helping.

"fine! I'm fine!" Isi reassured him practically on instinct, doing a little dismissive hand motion.

As Isi recovered a little, they noticed the portals opening around them, which effectively forced them to make their brain work a little faster- she looked towards Roy and Inu, taking some effort to stand.

"Are you both okay? Is he okay?" She looked from Roy to Inu. Her head felt like it had been kicked in. Karma, maybe.

Guilt hit like a lead bullet as he felt the lightning arc off him and connect with his friend. The loss of vision was both a blessing and a curse for Roy as multiple portals opened around the group. He couldn’t see the undoubtedly overwhelming scene, but the sudden burst of sounds freaked him out.

“Isi! What’s happening?! I- I can’t see anything, what’s going on?!” Small sparks shot off from him like a live wire, stressed out of his fucking mind.

Inu didn't respond to Isi or Roy as he shut his eyes tightly. There were a lot of sounds and smells now and it was certainly overwhelming.

Inu clenched his teeth together, taking in a deep breath as he tried to get control of his breathing and the situation.

Isi felt panic begin to cloud her senses, along with... literally everything else clouding her senses. Her eyes went wide as she looked around. She could vaguely feel some residual tingling on her neck that she paid no mind to.

Through it all, she managed to glimpse a particular portal close by among all the portals that seemed to lead back to the island. God, she hoped it did.

Without a second thought, she took hold of Inu's arm, bringing it over her neck to rest on her shoulders, holding it with one hand. With the other hand she took Roy's, trying to start towards the portal.

"We gotta leave! Come on!"

It didn't matter how illogical that may be. It didn't matter that Inu could probably control this in a few seconds. Isi needed out now.

Roy got to his feet, throughly panicked. Through the cacophony of sounds he sensed Isi come closer. He was so confused and fucking terrified. The sudden sensation of Isi’s hand grabbing his startled him.

As she grabbed onto him, a weak jolt of electricity shot through her hand, making it feel tingly and numb.

Hearing her shout to leave only scared him more, but he trusted her. “I- I can’t see anything Isi- I’m trusting you, let’s go.”

He was scared out of his mind, but he forced himself to move forward, hoping desperately Isi could get them all out.

Inu blinked wearily as he was carried out of the portal. Once the trio left the portal did thankfully close behind them, so there was that thankfully.

Slowly, Inu regained his footing and rubbed his eyes, letting out a small sound. What on earth was going on...

Roy's 'I'm trusting you' rung in her ears as she lead Inu and Roy through the room and out the portal. Isi felt the extra jolt of electricity and only held on tighter. Once they were out, she carefully lowered Inu and let go of Roy as her heart rate tried to lower. The tingly feeling had subsided, only a little remaining on the side of her neck which she rubbed absentmindedly.

He collapsed to his knees as soon as he felt the solid ground of the temple. He felt exhausted and panicked and he still couldn’t see anything.

Everything hurt, everything was too loud and he was so fucking exhausted. Tears spilled over and he was too tired to hold it back.

“God damn it.” His voice was barely above a whisper. Him and his awful luck.

Like Roy, Inu dropped to his hands and knees and gripped onto the ground. Grass. Grass. He remembered the feeling which brought him some comfort.

He felt a wave of exhaustion was over him and Inu simply lowered himself to the ground, shutting his eyes.

Isi fell over onto her back, giving a exhausted breaths. After a minute she smiled, and sat back up, looking at Roy. Upon doing so, the lichtenburg figures that had bloomed on their neck were now visible.

Over the buzz of pain and fear, the sudden drop in temperature reminded him he left his coat in Inu’s portal.

God he was so tired. But he couldn’t go back to the room. Not when Roque could be there and she’d definitely take advantage of the state he was in. He wasn’t safe.

The tears increased and he let out a small sob. “I’m sorry.”

"Yeah. We should get inside" they agreed, then frowned upon realizing their options for doing so with Roy in this state were limited, especially with his supposedly awful roommate situation.

"What if we went back to my room? It should be empty right now-"

A few more tears rolled down his cheeks. They weren’t even mad at him for hurting them. He didn’t deserve that kindness.

At Isi’s offer he nodded quickly, he wanted to lay down, or at least sit somewhere warmer so he could calm down. He slowly got up, the cold was causing him to shake again.

Sensing Inu come closer he froze, not sure what to do. The contact was nice and helped with the cold, so in his tired state he leaned into the touch. He could feel that most of the electricity was gone, or at least weak.

He didn’t like the idea of going back into the portal, but he didn’t voice these concerns. At least he might be able to get his coat back.. if that was how it worked.
