[4:57 AM]sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁: Isi found her way to the room, ducking through the doorway so her antlers didn't get caught on the top. She dumped her bag on the the bed she had previously helped her dock spider find a home under, sitting on the bed and placing her hand under it, letting the spider crawl on and then holding it. She wondered what she should name it.

[9:05 AM]sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁: Isi heard the gala announcement, taking a little time to get ready with the clothes provided her, finding she'd never actually gotten to do this before. She hoped she'd find some of her friends there.

[10:50 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania: Titania had found her way to her room a little after the announcement of the start of the gala. She was still exploring the island, even up to the final second. When she finally got here, the princess was quite confused by the set up. Shared rooms?? And with three other people, no less?! How horrid.

She peaked her head around, hoping that no one else would be in here. When the coast seemed clear, they pulled all of their things inside and claimed the next bed that seemed empty. She would also have to have a word to the Hand of God about separate boarding. Stacking her suitcases on her side of the room, the princess got herself dress in a jiffy. It was difficult without her usual helping hand, but after a bit, Titania got herself dolled and prepped. Off to the gala she goes!

With a smug little smile, Peregrine sauntered into the partition after her, beaming even wider as he saw that the bed by hers was free. "Oh, how cute, you saved a bed for me!" He teased, leaning toward her with a chuckle before he strutted to what would be his bed. "You are certainly too kind to me." Crossing one leg over the other, Peregrine tilted his head toward the entry way of their room, gazing toward his own belongings dumped in the hall. "Be a dear, sweetheart, can you bring in my little bags?" He asked with a little vague gesture toward the mentioned bags, of which there were only a few. Nothing difficult to bring in - his smile showed he really just was just toying with her some more.

"I did not save you such a thing," she immediately bit back and stuffed her golden flower into one of her various suitcases. She huffed as she turned towards the bags Peregrine had, insulted he would even insinuate they servitude him. How preposterous.

The princess walked over to the bags, held her skirt as she bent down to look over the measly things, and just as quickly stood back up. From where Peregrine was, he would be able to see Titania surprisingly pick his items up, but perhaps it was the trick of the light or the angle she was at, the bags seemed to disappear in her hands. Titania huffed once more as she made a chucking motion towards the outer hallway, and the sound of clutter hitting against the wall and floor soon echoed into the room.

She dusted her hands off and glared at Peregrine. "No, I cannot. I wish you luck in trying to bring them in now." @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine chuckled at her retort and watched her like she was a television character. His own personal source of entertainment. He did, however, raise his eyebrow as she seemed to pick up his bags without much hesitation and for a second, he thought he'd miss out on some interesting performance of refusal, some indignant screech of being oh-so important. But he was soon proved wrong as the bags disappeared and she threw the most intriguing of tantrums by throwing them outside.

Peregrine barked with laughter, laying against the bed and putting on his own performance of proving how unbothered he was by her actions. "Oh, sweetheart, how funny you are!" He waited for his laughter to subside in a more natural way before he then slowed to a hum. "Such a shame... and right after our dear hosts warned us not to misbehave... tsk, tsk, sweetheart."

Titania didn't even hold back from rolling her eyes. "As if you yourself have not been misbehaving. Between your own word and mine, I know our dear hosts would much more believe what I have to say," the princess huffed. There was a startled yelp and a loud oof in the hallway.

Isi was on the ground, looking very startled and confused. She lightly kicked behind her, even more confused at the weighted-something she hit, standing up carefully and deciding not to move into the room until she was sure the ground had stopped playing a prank on her.

They looked into the room, having caught the end of Titania's sentence and mildly regreting choosing this particular moment to enter the room.

Leaning back in the bed he'd claimed was his, across from Titania's, Peregrine just acted even more smug. "Me? Misbehaving? No, no, sweetheart, I'm the Angel. Practically impossible." He put his hand under his chin. "Even if I could misbehave, any deed of mine pales in comparison to you stealing my luggage-" He was interrupted by the yelp in the hallway, but then his eyes and smile brightened. "-and already hurting one of our fellow contestants already. Tsk, tsk, sweetheart, there will be time for that. Not making a good reputation for yourself, are you?"

Peregrine began to sit up but then decided against it. "Perhaps you can repent by helping that poor soul who you put in harm's way with your misbehaviour." God how smug could his smile get.

Titania opened her mouth to retort, but just as Peregrine paused when there was a yelp, so did she. Before she even listened to the rest of what Peregrine had to say, the princess was already stepping out of the entryway and rushing to Isi. "Oh, I am, so, so terribly sorry! Are you okay?" They asked the.. deerling? Titania tilted her head curiously, but concern was the main expression on her face.

They offered Isi a hand and frowned. "I did not think anyone was out here.. Are you hurt anywhere? Ignore the fool in the room. He does nothing but taunt for his own pleasure." @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁 @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Isi took her hand, mainly a little flustered now honestly, they hadn't planned to draw attention to themselves and hadn't planned for someone who looked straight out of a fairytale helping her up.

"I'm okay! Just- tripped, I think." She yet again looked at the empty floor confused.

"I just wanted to go back to my- well, our room, it's late, y'know?"

She poked her head around Titania a little bit to glance at Peregrine through the door, at least that's who she assumed these two were, being that this was her room. She heard Titanias statement about Peregrine, looking a little confused by it as well.

Peregrine was all too happy to relax back into his bed as Titania left the room, and more content to just listen to them. Listening was half of the job, really. He cackled as Titania warned the other of him, shrugging at its accuracy then indeed continued his taunting. "Oh, and I do it so well, dear!" Allowing for a beat to pass, he then continued, "Will one of you bring my bags back in, please?" His smirk could be heard in the tone of his voice. "They're out there somewhere, they may be hard to see.~"

Titania helped Isi up and huffed a little as she heard Peregrine. "I am glad you are not hurt, but as I stated, ignore the vagrant in the room. And do not worry yourself with his trash, but do watch your feet walking around here in the hallway," Titania informed them before turning around and glaring at Peregrine once more.

"Good luck finding anything of yours, you baboon. I recommend you get out of this room while you can, miss. I am taking my things out because I cannot stand being so close to such a.. a harlot. She carefully stepped into the room, looking between Peregrine and Titania.

"Harlot? Did he- did he cheat on you or something?" Immediately after she said that her face felt warm and she mumbled an apology, that probably was not appropriate.

Peregrine continued to laugh, at Titania's claims and Isi's confusion. "You can't be calling somebody a whore anymore, sweetheart, not in climate. We're far more..." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Accepting of different lifestyles." Then he looked toward Isi. "I suppose we've been roomed with a bigot, such a shame." Sorry he's insane.

Another small cackle came out of his mouth at the outlandish idea that he and Titania were dating. "Oh, we could be having a lover's spat, if only." Was this man really flirting again? He put a hand to his cheek with a dramatic sigh. "Unfortunately our roomie here is rebuffing me and calling me such names, and she stooped so low as to not just cast out my luggage but turn it invisible so I can't even fetch it! What a cruel woman, being so cruel to a man who's done nothing to earn such treatment!"

Do not let his slick deamnor or comments fool you. Isi took Peregrines question as a yes apparently, because she got down and looked below the bed- albeit awkwardly due to the antlers- and stuck her hand under it. She had something cupped in her hands when she stood back up.

"She is Trin" Isi revealed the fairly large, grey-brown spider held in her hands to the room.

They looked at Titania and frowned as they saw her with her bags.

"Oh- you're going, aren't you? I hope I'll see you around then, you're nice"

His attention lazily turned back to Isi as she stood back up, his eyebrow raised at the cupped hands, then the other one raising with it as his eyes widened. Peregrine was not afraid of spiders - that would be silly - but he still immediately brought his feet up into the bed and wrapped his arms around his legs to keep them secured. With his fancy shoes still on, God forbid! He took a second to stare at the spider, then forced a little smirk on his face; his head turned toward Titania before his eyes looked over at her. "It looks like we've found a replacement for you already. I'm sure 'Trin'-" He didn't do quotation marks with his fingers but they were very heavily implied. "-will fare in the tournament just as well as you." There's that annoying smile. Despite the spider.

Titania paused as Isi revealed the spider from underneath bed. The princess' glare seemed to softened seeing the creature, but then return two-fold as Peregrine opened his mouth again. "Good luck finding your idiotic, harlot supplies, you dolt. I hope you trip," she said towards Peregrine before turning to Isi.

"Goodnight!" Isi called back as Titania shut the door. They were sad to see her leave but it was probably best in this situation. Titania took her bags and everything, so it didn't look like she was planning on returning. They turned back to Peregrine, noticing his more defensive positioning.

"You're not afraid of spiders, are you? Because Trin did already make a web of sorts under this bed and I'd hate to make her move"

Yes, Isi was actually insinuating that the spider claimed the bed before Peregrine and therefore Peregrine should move if he has a problem with it. Don't worry about it.

Peregrine just smiled sweetly at Titania before she left , as sweetly as a man like him could smile. It was clearly forced anyway, just to add insult to injury, but the spider existing made it falter.

As Isi continued to talk, he rolled his eyes quite openly. "Such a shame, I'm sure Trin can manage finding another web to call home. Or building one or whatever." He waved his hand dismissively of Isi and the spider. "If your bed won't suffice there's always outside, no? That is where they belong after all."

Isi was most definitely joking, but she sounded serious, finding it funny to mess with Peregrine a little, especially after the stuff they just saw with Titania.

He smirked. "Yes, yes, Peregrine Marvell - because I really am quite the marvel, no, but I'm much more Angel than bird, as you see." He ruffled his feathers. "It's a good thing for your spider I'm no bird, mm?" Oh this was nothing. Man can be so much worse.

This is where the cloudy memory thing came in. Isi could recall angels, what they were, etc. Just not where she learned that.

Despite Peregrine's desire to be super annoying, he wasn't bad at talking, and Isi did want to talk to him enough to figure out what she was dealing with, at least.

Peregrine just smiled. Not quite real but the closest to it he'd been so far. Still had a level of pretence that he always had to have. "That's the question, isn't it? "A mystery is no longer so entertaining when you have all the answers, I find."

As the conversation shifted to Darcy, he chuckled. "Oh he's the lovely sort but I don't think he's keen on me. So sad, isn't it?"

There was his smirk of satisfaction. He knew what he was doing. Bastard.

Isi didn't know what to make of that, though she doubted anyone actually acting as their true self had to state as such that way.

"Not really" they replied, not at all clueing in on the joke apparently.

You can be your true self without threatening spiders and making people uncomfortable, right?

They made a few odd clicking or chirping sounds to the spider, which promptly crawled off their arm, down the wall, and under their bed.

He smiled so sickly sweet at Isi, his head tilted and hands folded in his lap. "Understand, darling?"

As Isi's mood changed, his smile only grew and grew. This was entertainment, the true tantrum that Titania had deprived him of. He sat against the wall, his wings still outspread. He was beaming from ear to ear, eyebrows furrowed with satisfaction.

He almost looked disappointed that there wasn't more. "Maybe that's true," he said after a small pause. "But I'm afraid if I die, people would miss me. I've made a name for myself at home too, dear. However, I don't think anyone would bat an eye if your little spider became a stain on my shoe. Of course, I'd have to get the shoe cleaned but that's not a difficult task." He laughed to himself, enjoying the little game.

Then they spoke, and he sighed dramatically. "No one is stopping you, dear, just keep that spider away. That's all I'm asking, that's not going to be difficult for you, or it, will it?" He stood up and stretched out his wings like he was stretching his arms. "Although if I could push my luck and ask you to find my bags as well. See, I've had a long, hard day and I would love to get changed into something more comfortable." He smirked at Isi, clearly just pushing his luck.

I may be comfortable with my body but what a rude roommate I would be, perish the thought." He put a hand to his cheek and mouthed a gasp.

"We were just discussing the cruelty of our other roommate, to not only cast my bags into the hallway when I so politely asked for assistance, but to turn them invisible so I can't even fetch them myself, and putting others at risk. Oh what a travesty." His hand moved upwards so the back of it rested on his forehead as he threw his head back dramatically. "Whatever have I done to deserve such treatment?" He couldn't help but grin knowingly.

"Hello, Isi!" Darcy sent them a warm smile, but it faded when he turned to Peregrine. "Good evening, Peregrine."

"I was actually just speaking to Titania- she's an acquaintance of mine, you know, and she told me you disrespected her." Perhaps, not exactly what she'd said, but close enough. He paused in thought, not quite believing what Peregrine said. After all, he hadn't tripped over any luggage in the hallway. "I have done nothing of the sort, dear, it's all slander~" He stood up, his hand moving to his chest in mock offence as he shook his head. "The way I'm being treated is reprehensible."

They resisted the urge to laugh at Darcy's blunt, flat tone, and then frowned, picking the lily up from where it had sat on her bed up until now. They were honestly surprised Peregrine didn't say more.

Peregrine sighed dramatically. His brief silence was over and he was back with a vengeance. "Oh but I could make myself worth your time, Darcy darling." He leaned towards Darcy with a little grin. "My talents seem to be wasted here. And they were wasted at the gala too. One of our fellow contestants didn't even realise what I meant until I spelt it out for him and by that time there was no fun. And he was so tall too~" He leant into his hand and sighed faux-sadly. "Though the lily matches me rather well, so I suppose that'll have to make up for it, hm?"

Darcy simply... ignored everything Peregrine said. He'd made his point, and he wasn't going to be goaded into another conversation just so Peregrine could make him look bad. He kept his attention on Isi.

Isi resisted the urge to express distaste out loud at Peregrine's words, though her nose did wrinkle for a moment.

They held their lily, tracing the leaves. "I don't understand why they'd discourage fighting and then give us a huge reason to fight, why not just have us keep the lilies on us during matches only?"

Isi leaned down and angled her arm under the bed, placing her lily a good ways beneath it. This was accompanied by some of those little clicking sounds from earlier.

As if he wasn't already in his personal space far too much, Peregrine not only stepped closer to Darcy but rested his arm on his head. Darcy arm rest era. His hand was dangling in front of his face like a stray strand of hair.

Only looking even more entertained, and certainly satisfied, with the pair's reactions, Peregrine leant down to look Darcy in the eye. "What was that, sorry? I didn't quite hear you." Like how Darcy hadn't answered them, he completely ignored Isi, not even looking over them as they stepped closer.

"I said-" Darcy spun around, moving out from under Peregrine's arm "Gate san!" If Peregrine had been paying attention at all, he'd realize that wasn't even close to what Darcy had said. It didn't matter, because Peregrine had gotten out of it completely uneffected.

Darcy, on the other hand, instantly looked worse. Turns out accidentally poisoning yourself with your own spell isn't fun at all. He stumbled away from Peregrine, looking dazed at the ground. "Eugh..." @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁 @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Isi wasted absolutely no time in responding to Peregrines condescending ignorance with a swift kick at his left shin, which hit home hard. The kick broke skin, and her hoof came away a bit bloody, and it absolutely bruised him as well, obviously. The force of it was definitely enough to take Peregrine's leg out from under him and at least get him off balance if not cause him to fall completely, especially with the pain. since she'd held back she had no clue whether it was enough to fracture a bone or not and frankly she didn't care right now, though she would definitely feel bad later.

They didn't even address Peregrine after this, immediately turning to Darcy because of how dazed he looked, being ready to guide him to the bed or catch him or something.

Peregrine raised an eyebrow as Darcy spoke and only chuckled as he stumbled away, dropping his arms back down to his side. He pressed his hand into his cheek in mock concern. "Aww, what's wrong? Cat got the little linguist's tongue?" He was the middle of laughing when Isi kicked him; he couldn't help the yell of pain as his leg gave way and he very pathetically crumpled to the floor. However, he did manage to force himself to laugh through the pained groans. Menace.

Darcy leaned into Isi's supporting embrace, grateful for their presence, but could not take his eyes off Peregrine and his sharp, mocking laughter. His blood boiled hot, from his miscast spell and the pure anger coursing through his veins with it. He was being made into a fool, just because someone thought it funny. But he wasn't going to tolerate it, not anymore.

Locking eyes with Peregrine, he breathed out another spell. "Að leggja höfuðið í bleyti." As soon as the syllables were muttered, Peregrine's body would be enveloped in a swirling typhoon of water- water that hadn't existed before hand. For only moments would he choke on the salty brine, his conciousness slowly drifting away. Once he was unconcious and on the floor, the water slowed, and dripped away from him, metamorphazizing into silver dust as it fell away.

Darcy watched Peregrine until he was certain the other man was unconscious, and then some. He cleared his throat, and turned to Isi. "That.. should take care of him for a while...." @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻 @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

"holyshit!" Isi exclaimed, probably a little too loudly. "I think that's the coolest spell you've done yet-" they told Darcy, still supporting him for as long as he leaned on them.

Her smile did fade when she actually took a look at Peregrines leg.

"Oh- oh I actually kicked him that hard, wow. Should- we get him to the hospital or something?"

The leg was still bleeding, and while Isi didn't regret anything, she wasn't keen on causing permanent damage to anyone, or sleeping while someone bled on the floor.

Peregrine couldn't help but groan as he started to come to, first shifting himself to be comfortable. Then, as the situation dawned him, and he remembered he had a bit of an audience, he shifted onto his back with some effort and grinned, almost flirtily (not despite himself but definitely despite the situation), up at Petrai. "Hello, Ms. Voyeur," he said with a chuckle through the next groan of pain. "You've caught me at an unfortunate time."

"You could have given me more preparation for the fall, dear, so I could have had time to keep my wings from getting crushed. My poor feathers..."

"Oh, uh- okay." Darcy walked to Petrai's side.

Petrai then turned to Isi. "You're free to come with us if you want, but your presence isn't necessary."

"Oh yes, let's~" Peregrine continued to speak like that, too smug for a guy with a fractured leg. "Oh the attention I'll need for my poor injury, what cruel roommates I have." He leant back slightly in the stretcher as if to get comfortable, then he piped up again, "Oh, mind the hallway. My bags are out there. Invisible, naturally. Another roommate of mine." He smiled so pleasantly.

She carefully stepped out of bed and out of the room, intent on trying to explore more before everyone else woke, find out who she was fighting. Maybe she'd attend the mass too.

Ah yes. His little debt. Peregrine got dressed - into the same clothes as yesterday because of his belongings being elsewhere and opened the door, leaning in the doorframe with a smirk already plastered on his face.

Peregrine's eyes lit up briefly then he narrowed them as he leant out of the doorframe. "My my, how forward!" He called after her before stepping out of the room. He unfurled his wings and, though he certainly didn't really need to do this, he used one large flap to propel himself to Albanes' side. The movement was pretty goddamn loud, like when you fold paper in that specific way and then slam it down into the air. But even louder because wings. So good at writing rn. It was entirely unnecessary and entirely too loud. But at least he was at Albanes' side!

As the video began to play, Darcy lit up in wonder. The pictures on the screen began to move, for no reason he could easily discern. The video itself was interesting, of course. There was nothing bad about some good climbing footage. He's just never seen a video before.

Kal looked at his phone and went into the app store. He clicked on the microphone option and spoke into it. "Spelling games."

Several games popped up. Since he didn't know anything about any of them, he just automatically downloaded the first options. Two of them were games meant for children, one was Wordle, and the other was Word Trip. Fun times.

Kal handed the phone back to Darcy.

Kal didn't mind that Darcy was invested in the games. He used that moment to peek at the screen and see how the game was actually supposed to be played. As she did so, she caught a glimpse of herself in the bathroom mirror- the strange network of scars down the side of her neck. It wasn't very drastic but it was unfamiliar. She traced them lightly before looking at Roy and stopping to tug her scarf up a bit. Maybe he shouldn't see that just yet, even if Isi thought it was cool as hell.

They sat down on the bed opposite Roy and Inu, making a few clicking sounds that called Trin to scuttle up onto their leg and rest there.

He was still confused. It seemed from the tone that they weren’t lying to him, but he still didn’t understand why they weren’t upset with him. He’s almost never intentionally hurt someone, but the anger was always deserved…right?

He wasn’t sure how to feel. The monstrous headache he had wasn’t helping him, either. The room was quiet, but everything still felt… too much. His breath shallowed and he gripped the sheets, trying to calm down and ignore the pain. He didn’t need to start crying again.

Inu’s words piqued his interest. “….The in-between? Is that what that place was? How’s it even work?” He hoped taking the focus off him would help his nerves.

His face fell. He felt silly for not understanding what Inu originally meant. It was a strange idea. Different worlds, with different versions of him: That could mean somewhere out there he didn’t survive the lightning strike, or it never happened and he could have been a normal person.

He had mixed feelings about that. He wouldn’t know the friends he’s made here, but he would have a normal life. He could have gone to college, even.

He fidgeted with his hair, he was too tired to think about all of that. “Ah… that sounds… complicated.” He suddenly shuddered. His body felt fuzzy, like tv static. He tried to ground himself on the feeling of his hair, and the bed beneath him. It had been awhile since he had been overcharged like that. He had forgotten how awful it felt. It was hard for him to hide his discomfort.

The exhaustion he felt would help carry him to sleep, but it will be fitful at best.

Several times throughout the night, Roy awoke, doing his best to be quiet each time. The shooting pain was familiar to him, but it still hurt like hell. With each tingling, stabbing pain his mind shot awake. Despite it, he continued to try and sleep. It didn’t help that he was uncomfortable in this new room without proper sleeping clothes.

He hoped he didn’t bother Isi.

Once Ryu returned to applying the cream and spoke again, Peregrine sighed in both relief and frustration. "What's the point of regretting an action done in frenzy? I wasn't the Angel then, I was just a man, and man does stupid things." He glanced at Ryu with a small chuckle. "And no, there is no best method, but the one I chose didn't quite fit the Angel theme. It was easy to fix with a bit of vomit and it would have made me look remarkably human. Otto complained I didn't choose one that would still have me in the air, as if in flight. A lot more difficult to come back from too." He laughed, more natural but with a subtle despondency. "Otto Beak knows how to stick to a role. He is an actor after all."

The Angel's graced the finest hotels all across the country. My wings manage flying state to state but I can't fly across the ocean without rest. And while I could fit into a train when I was fifteen, these wings do quite prevent me from getting public transport. So, wise Ryunoske, where am I going to go where no one can find me?" Then he smiled. "And why would I even go? There's nothing out there for me, not anymore, and why give up my free, well, everything? Drinks, boarding, people-" He looked ready to list off more but decided against it. "Why would I give that all up just because some cigar-smoker pegged me and told me to? And what would it change? There was an uncanny seriousness to Ryu's expression as she listened to Peregrine, but most of it was in one ear and out the next. All she could hear, all she could see, was a pathetic man who wished to not acknowledge that's what he was. Pretending like he wasn't just some corpse pretending to be alive. It disgusted Ryunoske. Such a waste of time, effort, and space someone like Peregrine was.

His fingers dug lightly into Peregrine's skin, not alike to earlier. It was a tender touch, but not in the way of a lover. "Because unlike all the other bastards in your life, this cigar-smoker who pegged you hates people like you. You do nothing with the pain you've endured. You internalize it. He shifted defiantly then rolled onto his back, his wings pinned beneath him. "I'm looking you in the eyes, handsome," he teased, then stretched his neck as if bored of her. "It's really just a past time," Peregrine said, trying to ignore everything else she'd said. "I get filled because I've always been getting filled and as long as I don't hate it, I can do it." He chuckled to himself, smirking at Ryu. "Someone's never worked a 9-5 before~" As if he had either. "Honestly, tell me, what are you hoping for from this conversation? You're not going to benefit from any impact this has on me, not that there even is one. I cared a little more when it was Libbi telling me this things, but you're a stranger. If anything, you're a customer." His wings fluttered, trapped underneath his body. "I don't get it. Why try drag the Angel back down to Earth? I'm much better off as the Angel then being a person."

Ryunoske smiled, that damn, cocky and condescending smile he gave to people he saw below him. She chuckled and it seemed to rumble low in her throat. Ryu finally let Peregrine go and stood up from her seat. She had finished applying the lotion a while ago already. "I don't get anything from this. I just wanted to tell you the truth. When you're finally willing to accept your situation for what it is, you'll understand that it doesn't matter who I am to you," she replied.

"I just can't stand to see garbage left out. It's bad on the environment, for people who enjoy living. Perhaps you should start trying to be human again, and you'd understand why I talked to you about these things." Ryu let out a breath of red and green smoke before looking back at Peregrine. "I'm human. Humans don't need to believe in Angels or Gods. So I don't give a shit if you think you're The Angel or something. Peregrine laughed right back, humourlessly and not trying to hide it. "I've been told a million truths, darling." Man be out here emphasising. Now released, he sat up. He eyed the smoke, chuckling to himself - a quiet chuckle, closest to private Peregrine could come to, that was all for him. His own inside joke. No great performance.

"Being human changes nothing. Humans don't get treated like people either. I just take the morality out of the question by not being human. Far less guilt involved, far less pain too." He tilted his head at her. "Angels don't waste time with aftercare. Better things to be doing. For someone calling me garbage, you were very insistent."

He stood up, stretching and dressing in gradual movements. "i just find that there's no point in pretending. The Angel is just preferable to whatever I was before. Besides, it's not all that bad - if I was really in trouble, I'd choose to leave. But clearly I'm not, so I don't. And I think that says a hell of a lot more than any lecture." Peregrine grinned at Ryu. "You're a terrible motivator, darling."

"If I wanted to motivate you, I would of already done physical measures. I don't help men in that realm, sorry babe. If you're so adamant on your situation not being 'that bad' or 'excusible' because things don't apply the same way to you, fine. When you eventually wake up... Just picture me smirking over you for good measure," Ryu chuckled and walked to the door.

"It was lovely spending time with you and all that, and I'm always a fan of not getting caught, but really it started going downhill when you opened your mouth." He grinned at her. "A lesson for next time."

Isi didn't let herself be helped to the bed. She looked like a hunted animal, eyes wild. Her braid looked like it was going to come apart. She stepped further towards the door.

"Roy- I'm glad you're arm got fixed, I was so worried. And...and I think you'll get the room to yourself Darcy. I'm really glad I met you both"

It was at this point she was definitely running if neither tried to stop her.

Petrai only grunted in pain as she was forced to the floor, her voice used up by her shriek. As Yuga held her down, he'd feel something... odd, on her back, hidden by her clothes. Petrai didn't protest but to try and free herself.

Roy screamed as he felt the bolt rip through him, falling to the ground. Lighting burst and then fizzled out with the pain. His vision blurred but he forced himself to his knees off of Isi. “hhh…. t-tell… tell us.. gh, what’s happening. Talk.” A very dangerous amount of blood was staining his clothes.

Isi looked at Darcy. "Do you know any healing spells? Anything?" She was desperate, even though she knew that wasn't really how Darcy's powers worked.

When Roy spoke, Isi looked at Petrai with him, and at Yuga. She realized that everyone around her was in a really bad position if more guards arrived. She trusted Roy to stay up for a little, and maybe Darcy to help, as she got up and stepped over Petrai, standing in the hallway beside Yuga and the fallen woman, to be a lookout, line of defense. Maybe Petrai could say enough before more came.

Yuga furrowed his brows, and looked from one person in the room to another. He had no idea what was happening. He had been worried about the announcement regarding Isi, and he'd come to see if everything was alright, and then he'd seen the Second fire a crossbow into the room. He wanted to know what that was about, but these people were asking... even bigger questions?

"What. Are you talking?" He glared down at Petrai, and was surprised by her words. Wings. He shifted a bit, so his muzzle wasn't at Petrai's neck anymore, and he poked his nose into her back, nudging and shifting around. Wings?

"I let you go if you stop attacking? Explain what's happening", he said.

"Why you think they killed someone?" he asked. He then turned to glare at Petrai again.

"Don't shoot my friend for strrresspassing. Not that serious."

Petrai paled as Roy's electricity flashed- normally it wouldn't have bothered her, but the pain from his initial attack still lingered. She tried to brace herself on the doorframe.

Abruptly, she blurt out. "He's doing necromancy. He knows it's wrong- of course, he knows, but he doesn't care. He never has, he loves her too much. Why would he ever listen to me, when she's involved? And I can't do anything to stop him- and you all surely can't either, so we might as well save our efforts."

Yuga's ears turned to face the different people as they talked, whereas his head turned less fequently, his eyes mostly focused on Petrai and Isi. His tail moved restlessly, and he listened to everything with growing concern.

Once the truth was revealed, he stared at Petrai with eyes as wide as they could go. His claws pressed against the crossbow, almost digging into it, and he started to shake. He lowered his gaze, eyes still wide, and his mind was racing.

Then, the announcement rang out, different than the rest, and answered Roy's question. Yuga's face started to twist in rage, and he shook more and more, gripping the crossbow tighter. A low growl started building up in his throat, and his eues shone a little brighter.

Isi, despite the situation, smiled a little. "Oh, she came through" she was quiet, listening. All of it was so much. She had no idea why Ryunoske was involved but was glad about it. Everything had to be over now, right? Everyone knew, what could the church possibly do to change this?

As Yuga started to growl Isi looked at him with concern. She couldn't blame him though. "I know."

Yuga's heart was beating hard, and his breathing became heavier. His fur was bristling, and red mist started to slowly cloud the edges of his vision. He closed his eyes, and shook his head intensely.

No. No... He needed to keep his head. He needed to stay present. Now more than ever.

He took a few deep, deep breaths, and opened his eyes. They weren't shining bright anymore. They looked rather normal, apart from the thin rims of water above his lower eyelids. He stared at Petrai wordlessly, his expression conveying his feeling of pain, treachery, and anger. Then, he quietly walked up to Roy, and silently offered to support him.

"Let's go, then." Was the only thing he said aloud, the words coming out as a scratchy mess.

"oh hell no" Isi replied quickly. She similarly went to move to support Roy, but stopped when she realized Yuga was going to, since that would save Petrai free to try and run or something. She looked at Roy, Darcy, and Yuga. "But it's gonna be kind of difficult to move her, especially if we want to f-"

Isi was cut off when a door slammed open at the end of the hall, accompanied by heavy, quick footsteps. In seconds, Eben was standing by the doorway, badly-concealed shock and anger on his face as he looked first at Roy, then Petrai, then the bolt. "God-damnit" he hissed.

Yuga flinched, his fur neck fur and tail poofing up, when Eben suddenly arrived. The fox bared his teeth, his ears pinning back, and he snarled, before he realized the man wasn't wearing a church uniform. In addition, Roy yelling his name further affirmed that this guy was okay.

He stood back, glancing at Eben. The announcement suddenly turned into sounds of struggle. Yuga twitched nervously, looking at the speakers. Then, he looked at everybody in the room. They would be fine among themselves, they didn't need Yuga here anymore.

"Stay together, stay safe, keep each other safe. Ryunoske needs help", he said, and with that, darted out of the room.

"bed, now." Eben told Roy, and as Darcy helped Roy over to him, he did his best to hold the other man up and guide him. He gave Darcy a nod in thanks. Eben was thankful Darcy had the sense to wrap the wound, but didn't think he'd applied enough pressure.

Isi looked between Roy, Eben, and Darcy. She heard the fight, and was too late to stop Yuga from bolting, but no way was she gonna let him walk into that on his own. She looked at Darcy. "I gotta go. You all- you're enough for Petrai and I'm not helping here." With that, Isi bolted after Yuga, her adrenaline returning.

Eben left for a minute, getting more towels from the bathroom. He also stripped another sheet off the bed Roy wasn't lying on.

There was an alternative if Roy kept bleeding despite his efforts, but Eben didn't even want to think about it.

"What happened? I heard the announcement, and then the next one...and I Believe it was Isi that just left here." Eben asked quietly to Roy has he began to inspect the wound.

He watched from his peripherals as Darcy dragged Petrai. "Make sure she doesn't have a radio or anything of the sort" he called.

Eben had undone the bloody make-shift bandages, and was now applying new ones, a good amount tighter than before, packing towels in and securing them with strips of bedsheet.

He listened to Roy's story. He wished the man hadn't gone to that length for defense, but there was nothing to be done now.

"In other words, everything went to shit and I was in the greenhouse the entire time." He muttered to himself, then, more directly to Roy, "are you hurt anywhere else?"

He seemed to be calmer now that he was in his element and Roy wasn't actually dying, yet.

“Haha… yeah.” Now that the blood was stopped he was slowly starting to feel better. His expressions became more serious. He moved a hand to Eben’s arm and held it firmly.

As Roy and Eben talked, Darcy brought Petrai into the room that had once been Peregrine’s, intending for this to be her holding cell until they found something to do with her. He’d only ever read about hostage situations, and didn’t really know what to do, but he was trying. If it meant his friends would remain safe, he’d do anything.

When he’d brought Petrai into the room, he laid her out on the clean bed- the one that hadn’t been Peregrine’s- and closed the door. While Petrai was still asleep, he inspected her body, looking for a radio, like Eben had suggested, or any other weapons she might be carrying. He found her magazine of crossbow bolts, and a small dagger hidden in her belt, and was glad he’d found both. It was uncomfortable work, searching an unconscious, older woman like this, but Darcy knew he needed to do it, to protect those closest to him.

Once he’d checked over Petrai, he rested her down on the bed, and waited out the moments til she woke.

It was only minutes til Petrai was up again. She rose carefully, calmly, to face Darcy. “And I am yet again met with the face of my captors. Very well.”

Darcy looked away awkwardly- he’d expected Petrai to be angry, or at least stern like she’d been before. He wasn’t yet used to this strange, quiet resignation. “Yes… I’m sorry, but we have to keep you here. To protect everyone.”

“Hm.” Petrai said. She shifted awkwardly, uncomfortably. She knew, sooner or later, that her life was going to be used as a bargaining chip. Let us leave, or we’ll kill her. It wouldn’t be the first time.

“We’ll try to treat you right, though,” Darcy said, “At least I will- I know you’ve done a lot of bad, but… you’re stuck in the middle of all this, too. And even if you weren’t a decent person, I still can be.”

“I thank you for it.” Petrai replied flatly. She kept her hands folded neatly on her lap.

The room fell silent. When a moment of that silence had passed, Darcy coughed into his hands. “Well… I’ll give you some space.” He watched Petrai on his way out, then closed the door on her, shutting her in.

Albanes worked silently, but swiftly. Soon enough, she had pulled out the crossbow bolt that'd been lodged in Roy's chest, and wrapped it in a towel. Albanes was first to fully enter the room, and lit up when she saw its occupant. "Petrai!" She exclaimed, rushing forward to embrace the woman. "Oh, it really is you... I'm so happy to see you, I was so scared... but you're safe."

"Safe as I can be." Petrai corrected, with the gentless touch of kindness. She returned Albanes's embrace, patting her on the shoulder. "I'm glad you're here, with Madeline. She'll take care of you."

Albanes exited the room before Petrai did, and awkwardly lingered by the wall, waiting for Madeline to be free.

Only minutes later, Petrai emerged. The differences in her appearance were clear- not only had she changed out of her red gown and into a simple pair of trousers and a billowing white shirt (stolen from Peregrine's left-behind belongings, no doubt), but her wings- jet black and folded against her back- were now plainly visible. She made her way to the door, but before she left turned to Roy and Eben. "They're out of the dungeons, now, by the way.
