It wasn't long till Inu found his room. Thankfully he used his powers to move all of the luggage to the room before he took a seat on the bed. He let out a small huff of air as he flopped onto the bed. It was..a bit of work moving all of the luggage but it was fine. It was all here now at least!

He let out a heavy sigh pushing his hair out of his face before he shut his eyes briefly. He was tired already. "..Mm..." Inu mumbled to himself before he smiled weakly. At least he had a nice bed to sleep in...

Roy bustled along with his duffel bags of stuff. Room, room, room, gosh this place was big, room, ha! There’s his name, and a few others. Inu, Eben, that’s nice, and….

“Sonvabitch. Fuckin’ room me with the devil ‘emself why don’tcha.” He let out a sharp breath, hair puffing up slightly. He psyched himself up and entered the room, prepared for the worst.

…and nothing. Nobody? He looked around, there were some- fucking hell. Her bags were here. He set down his bags and looked into a room…

Inu glanced over his shoulder and looked at Roy. "Huh..? Oh..! Uhm. Hi." He sat up, offering a tired smile. "Yeah...I'm here..." He yawned before he tilted his head. "Is everything..mmm..okay..? Are we in a room together..? I wasn't really paying attention all too much..but I guess we are then huh..?"

Eben made his way to the room, no luggage in sight. He took a look at the names by the door, bracing himself.

Inu possibly the best outcome, they seemed to have the easiest time talking with him.

Roy seemed friendly enough, wouldn't be a bother or a bad roommate that Eben could tell.

...okay. Roque. Eben made a mental note to make sure he was not put on her half of the room if he could help it.

He finally stepped inside to find Roy and Inu already there, talking.

Ah, right. Powers. He fidgeted with his hands, unsure of how to phrase what he needed to say. “Look, I.. me and Eben spoke to Roque on the way over and she’s bad fuckin’ news.” Suddenly, the door opened. Roy whipped around, small sparks crackled around his hands.

It was just Eben. He let out a sigh and the sparks died down. “Don’t- don’t scare me like that. Ha… it’s good you’re here too. We gotta talk about Roque.” He looked to the door and frowned. “Maybe we should move somewhere else to talk ‘bout this…” His hair still looked like a bristling cat. @Cap! | Valerie + Inu + NPC'S @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Inu blinked slowly before he looked over at the luggage then back to Roy. He opened his mouth before he flinched as the door opened, though he smiled when he saw Eben. "E-Eben!" He smiled a bit before he looked over at the two.

"Did-did something..happen..?" He asked softly, eyeing down. "Oh..maybe I made her mad before and she took it out on you guys...I'm sorry.." Inu frowned. "I didn't..mean to do that.." He rubbed his arm. "We can..move elsewhere if you'd like..or we can all gather on one bed or something..."

"My apologies." He told Roy after startling him, noting the sparks that shot out when he had.

Eben smiled a little at Inu when acknowledged, but it disappeared as both Roy and Inu started talking. He was...mildly confused by how Inu chose to few the situation.

"If it was anything you'd done I'm sure she wouldn't have had any trouble going to you about it, don't apologize." He replied to Inu. That would not be anything Eben would want to have happen to Inu in the slightest, however.

He noted just how uncomfortable Roy looked, deciding he'd rather not stay here at this time either, honestly more because it was crowded than because of Roque.

"I passed by the courtyard earlier, if this room is not preferred we could move there, so long as the cold isn't a problem."

He suggested this location in particular because it was quiet and spacious.

"The courtyard..? Yeah we-we can uhm. We can go there." Inu nodded. "I..got one of the heavier jackets they provided and everything so.." He stood up, walking over to the two of them.

"..We uhm.." Inu paused. "We can..all stick together..we are..like roommates right..?" He laughed a bit. "Thats uhm. That's what they..they do right..?" He asked.

Roque got back to her room, not bothering to knock before opening up the door. She stepped inside and looked around, letting out a sigh of relief at seeing that the others weren't there.

But ah, her bags were. Perfect. She got to work unpacking, surprisingly keeping all of her things on one side of the room she chose. Everything was put away just right, kept in a very particular order that only Roque knew.

Once that was done, she walked over to her white suit that she had placed on her bed. It wasn't all that frilly or detailed, just white with blood red accents. Roque picked up the shirt and pants and headed over to the bathroom to change.

...

Once that was done, Roque exited the bathroom, heading over to the door before pausing.. She went over to the dresser and pulled out something, shoving it in to her pocket quickly before heading out finally. Gala time!

Heading back into the room, Inu opened the door before he looked around. Seemed like Roque was here but...she wasn't here now. He glanced over at Roy then wandered into the room, moving towards his corner and digging through the bag he had. "..Do you..uhm. Do you have a fancy outfit..?" He asked Roy. "I..uhm. I don't have much but...I did want to ask for your..thoughts.."

“Ah, yeah. It’s not much, though.” From his bag he pulled out a nice sky blue button up and some black dress pants. The sound of metal clinked in his bag and he pulled out this.

He then pulled out a pair of cowboy boots with a few intricate patterns.

The hand that had been running through his hair absentmindedly has stopped as Roy looked to Inu, staring a bit as he processed what they had said.

The thought of his hair touched- braided. Being braided sounded nice. He would have to focus a bit to not shock him on accident but… it sounded really nice…

Inu nodded and gathered his clothes. "I-I uhm. I won't take too long." He shook his head. "So give me a few minutes.." And with that Inu headed into the bathroom.

After a few minutes, Inu stepped out of the bathroom and adjusted his coat a bit before he turned his focus back to Roy. "Have..you ever uhm..mm..been to parties like this..?" He asked as he wandered back over to him. "I..have never..been to a gala..or anything.."

Inu nodded along and took a seat on the bed before he clapped his hands together. "Mhm mhm...you're uhm. Too tall for me too reach so..I need you to bend down." Inu couldn't help but laugh embarrassed. "I-I uhm..I'm not too tall..so...yeah..ehe...I'm uhm..a bit nervous for the gala...mmm..sometimes if it's super loud I can get overwhelmed.."

Eben silently got ready after Inu had in the bathroom, reappearing in a long dark coat, heeled boots, and a dark suit. For whatever reason they seemed to find it difficult looking directly at Inu in his gala outfit, just sitting on the bed while Inu braided Roy's hair.

His heart was definitely beating faster. It must be his powers acting up from not moving. He tried to focus on not shocking Inu on accident.

Inu really did a great job… ah, the event, right. “Ha, we should probably get to the gala, I bet everyone else has already gone.” He checked over his outfit once more and looked to the other two. They really did look great.

Inu stood up as well, keeping a bit more to himself before he took a few steps forward. "Uhm- lets..let's not argue.." He said nervously. "We'll uhm. We'll see you at the gala..?" Inu turned to the others before he moved towards the door and by extension, a bit closer to Roque.

He kinda just wanted to get out of here and have a nice night with Roy and Eben..hopefully they'd still be able to achieve that.

Roy startled at the touch, as well as the door slamming, but relaxed. He ran a hand through his unbraided hair. He’s glad it didn’t poof up like it normally does when he’s stressed. The braid must have helped with that. He started towards the direction of the gala, checking that the others were following. “…Sorry about that, y’all. I probably shoulda kept my mouth shut, but I couldn’t stand her insultin’ us like that and then pretendin’ to apologize.”

He smiled a bit at Inu. “Yeah, it’ll be nice to spend more time with y’all.” Not that they hadn’t already spent a lot of time together. He just liked being with them.

Walking back to the room was..weird. Inu didn't know how to feel. He couldn't even explain it if he tried. He stood in front of the door for a few seconds before he opened it, quietly shuffling in.

Inu...did not look good. His outfit was a mess, he had blood covering his shirt, chest, and leg. Not to mention he looked a bit deshevled too. It was..certainly not the best sight to see...

Eben was sitting on his bed on the other side of the room, reading a few of the books he'd procured from the Library when he heard the door open. He walked through the door to the entryway, looking at Inu. He stood still and examined Inu's appearance for a second, though it may have felt like a minute. He didn't look alarmed or surprised, more just like he was thinking honestly.

"Are you hurt?" he walked into the bathroom, and Inu could hear water running.

Roy was sprawled out on his bed, wide awake. He had hoped he could settle down and get some sleep, but his restless mind had other ideas. So much had happened today, and his mind was focused on processing all of it instead of letting Roy sleep.

…voices. Is Inu back? He sat up and opened the door. He had already changed out of his Gala clothes and into some sweatpants and an incredibly tacky shirt.

"..." Inu stared at the two of them for a moment before he shut the door behind him and just moved to sit on one one of the beds, staring at the ground. "...Not..hurt...anymore.." He mumbled. Which..was sort of a lie. He still hadn't bandaged up the stab wound on his calf.

"...I...it...uhm." Inu pulled his knees close to him. "...Can we...talk about it..later...please.."

Ohhhh fuck. Something definitely happened. “Hey, you don’t gotta talk about it now. Whenever you’re ready.” Inu had shut the door, so Roque probably wasn’t coming back anytime soon. He would really like to know what exactly happened before his imagination could come up with something worse, but he really didn’t want to push. Especially with how rough Inu was looking. “Do you want anything? Water?” Roy was nervously tugging at his hair. He wasn’t sure how to comfort them when he didn’t know what happened.

Eben sensed a hesitance in Inu's voice, but Inu was too covered in what must have been blood (presumably not Inu's, as there was no way Inu would be this lucid if it was. Best case scenario was that they would not see Roque for some time) for Eben to tell if he was injured or not, so he'd have to be cleaned up first.

Speaking of which, Eben walked out of the bathroom with a warm, wet towel. His gloves were off. He walked to Inu, pulling a chair along with him and sitting in front of him.

"You need to get this substance off. Do you want me to do it, or would you like to?"

He held out the towel. He sounded a bit different, like this was a routine he'd been through before and he was on autopilot or something.

Now Inu and Roy were both panicking, or something like it. Eben had no idea if his heart was even capable of elevating to the rate of panic anymore, but at the very least it wasn't now. He was feeling many, many other unpleasant feelings however. He addressed Inu first.

When Inu had raised his legs, Eben had finally noticed the excess blood coming from the wound on his calf. Oh dear.

He kept silent, deciding that Roy could keep him calm and talking enough to let Eben stop a damn infection.

Eben sleeps like a rock (pun intended) straight through the announcements. The pillow fort collapsed on him during the night and he didn't even notice. He is still asleep when the others wake up.

Roy woke from sleep, the best he’s had in a while. He stretched and opened his eyes, looking to the other two. His senses caught up to him and the scent of blood hit his nose.

“Wh-what the fuck???” He looked around the room, eyes adjusting and taking in the strange bloody symbols strewn about the room.

Of fucking course. Can’t have anything nice. At least she didn’t wake them..? He turned back to his friends. “Hey, it’s morning. Up and at ‘em!” He moved himself over to where Eben was and pulled the blanket off of his face.

At the sound, a shiver made its way up Roy’s spine. He shook his head like a dog, like he was trying to shake out the feeling of the sound. He got up, stepping over the blood- where the fuck did she get this from- and pulled out a less stupid shirt and jeans.

“Hm, yeah I think it’s a good idea to talk to someone about our roommate. But I’d like to eat first. Heh, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, they say!” He let out a nervous laugh. He put a goofy smile on but he was still pretty unnerved by the blood.

He finished getting dressed and walked out. “Ready to head out? It’s probably still freezing out, make sure you’re warm enough.” He grabbed his coat off the floor.

She walked over to each symbol painted out on the carpet, and easily removed it with the flick of her wrist. All the blood moved up from the carpet and disappeared up her sleeve, leaving no trace of any stain on the carpet.

She went over to her bed and plopped down, closing her eyes.

"Roque, I'm very disappointed." Yeonaixho frowned. "I'd hoped to give you another chance to compete in this tournament, but when you break our rules, rules you've been informed of time and time again.... I simply cannot let these things happen under my watch."

As much as he wanted to go and ask someone about Hannah, his nerves were not having it. Thankfully no one was in the room so he could freak out without judgement.

He honestly looked like a chicken with its head cut off, just with a little more electricity. Pacing around the room, shaking his hands around with arcs of lightning scattering about all the while chanting to himself “she’s going to kill me. She’s going to kill me and I don’t- why! What did I do this time! Think you fucking idiot- what happened! Think think think-”

Every so often he’d stop pacing and just. Grab at his face or pull his hair, whispering to himself “calm down. calm down calm down fucking calm down!”

Eben entered the room, looking mildly preoccupied. He was holding a flower (he definitely stole from the greenhouse), and only the inner petals of the flower were stone, and he seemed focused on keeping it that way. The second he looked at Roy, however, the entire flower spontaneously petrified.

Roy was too busy mumbling to himself to notice the door opening, but upon hearing Eben he startled. He made a rather humiliating squeak of fear and whipped his head around. He looked very disheveled, a flannel he’d been wearing haphazardly thrown to the floor and his boots kicked off.

His breath was short, eyes wide, and he all together looked like a cornered animal.

A shiver racked his body and he shook his hand a few times to let out some sparks. Coming back to his senses he opened his mouth to try and answer his friend. “s-sorry. Um. I..” He grabbed at his hair and tried to sort his frantic thoughts. “I- so- so the person I’m fighting- ah, she really really hates me a-and she told me at the docks that I did something but I can’t figure out what I did?? I don’t- I don’t remember her from before this so I… I wanted to ask anyone if she’s said anything about it but I- I just worked myself up and…” He trailed off, unsure how to explain the panic attack Eben had walked into.

He…he was right. He wasn’t alone anymore, he had to get himself together. “Y-yeah.” He mirrored Eben at the other bed. His hand weaved through his now tangled mess of hair, his breath still shallow.

“I- I keep thinkin’ about it but I really don’t know her, I’ve never seen her before but she acted like she knew me. And- and I’m too scared to ask her again- like she’d just kill me right there for forgettin’ I don’t know- I don’t think she’d answer me if I asked anyway…”

Eben listened intently, though toward the begining he found himself wishing Roy had come to sit on his bed instead of the opposite one.

"Hannah, right? That's who you're fighting?" He has absolutely memorized the fight schedule btw.

"It doesn't seem like our hosts promote killing others in the arena, considering they rescued at least one contestant from death so far. Are you sure she wouldn't talk to you if you asked?"

Eben had not met this Hannah, but he could not fathom having a hatred that strong for someone, and then that person not having a single clue what they did to earn it. It didn't seem logical or fair.

He was working himself up again, breath becoming more ragged as he curled in on himself. “They just stopped the arena from killin’ them, how could they stop- if she was quick enough-“ He suddenly cut himself off with a wheezey laugh. “S-she can control those fuckin’ monsters- they can’t stop her.” His thoughts were too fixated on the idea of giant, jagged rows of teeth tearing him to pieces than the chance of making amends with those monsters’ commander.

He moved to sit on the same bed Roy was on, placing a gloved hand on his shoulder.

Controlled or not, a self-brewed lightning storm was difficult to fight. Eben didn't know what else to tell Roy other than reminding him that he was equally powerful to anyone else here.

His hands were trembling as he stared into them. His powers… could he really rely on them? The sudden shift on the bed loosened him from the grasp of the more… bloody thoughts he couldn’t rid himself of.

…he was nothing if not dangerous. And if the only way out of that maw of jagged teeth was… he looked away from his hands and to Eben, mind beginning to process the hand on his shoulder.

“Wh… what if- what if I can’t?” He stared at Eben with panic in his eyes.

After some time Roy eventually lifted his head, hand still locked onto Eben shoulder. He wiped away a few stray tears and forced a little laugh. “Sorry for cryin’ all over you.”

Inu knew he struggled to set boundaries and talk to people but...nothing even happened. He talked to Hannah a bit but it kinda felt nice to get his feelings out a bit.

He sighs deeply and pulls at his hair. “… I wanted to go ask if anyone’s heard anything about it or maybe ask her myself but I got… I got all worked up and freaked out over it. She… she can control sharks or somethin like that and I’m… I’m terrified that she’s gonna kill me in that arena.” He was trembling again.

There was something that had been on his mind for a while now. And.. if his fight went how Hannah wants, he might never have the chance otherwise… “Um, y’know on a more positive note. I’ve been thinkin’ about that gala from the other night and… well we never got to all dance together.” A smile and blush had spread across his face. Perhaps it wasn’t the best time to bring it up, but he wanted this. Something nice before the fight. Hopefully they’d feel the same.

It was all so much.

Inu ran over to the two and tried to pick Roy up and failed. Horribly. He bit down onto his lip before he rapidly shook his head and just hugged Roy, burying his face into his shoulder. "You're okay!" He sobbed. "You're okay! You're okay!" He hiccuped.

"I was so worried about you- I-I-I thought I lost you- you- and- and- and-" He inhaled sharply.

Inu cupped Roy's cheeks for a moment before he brushed some hair out of his face and placed their foreheads together.

He pulled off his shirt with a sort of strangled sound, relieved to get the blood away from him. As Eben and Inu held onto him his heart rate finally began to go down.

He was safe. And he was so incredibly tired. He weakly held onto Inu, eyes fluttering closed at the contact. He tried to speak, his voice incredibly hoarse from the screaming, but he didn’t know what to say. He sighed heavily and just thumbed the fabric of Inu’s shirt.

He was so tired.

Eben awkwardly sat on the bed, leaving the clothes beside Roy and Inu.

He realized he envied them, their emotions shown so fearlessly even without meaning. Not because he wanted their sympathy, but because they could make things so obvious without them realizing it, and that simplified things.

Because it was so obvious now, at least as far as Eben could see, just looking at the two on the floor, holding one another. Eben couldn't compare himself to that.

They loved each other, didn't they?

And Inu was leaving, and this was far too late a realization to have.

It was tiring wasn't it? Inu thought so. "...Let's get you into bed.." He mumbled. "You're tired...and hurt...I don't...mmm..want you on the floor." He stood up, slipped his arm under Roy's in an attempt to help him onto the bed too.

Then he glanced at Eben offering him a tiny tired smile. "...I wanna..spend the last...time I have...with you..."

Inu saying that seemed to confuse him, as did Roy's gesture, but at least he recognized they wanted him closer. He did so, standing up and walking to them, but tugging his coat closer around him as he did so, just in case. Soon he was in arms distance.

At Inu’s word’s Roy seemed to get out of his head somewhat.

“oh…. One small mercy.

The jacket Inu now wore was warm and had a comfortable weight to it. The texture of the denim was well worn to the point of being soft. There was a nice flannel lining in the areas that rub most on the body. The buttons were wooden, clearly added by hand. It was plain to see how much love went into making it.

Roy was happy to give it to him for the time.

Roy smiled weakly and closed his eyes again. He… still felt disoriented but Eben and Inu were right. They were here, he was safe.

…it would be hard to be without Inu. He really hoped Eben wouldn’t lose his fight.

“…please be safe.” He shifted until he bumped into someone. He liked being close.

Immediately after Inu and Petrai left, Eben's face fell into one of frustration. "If this has anything to do with what I asked Yeonaixho..." He didn't finish the statement, but it was evident he thought he'd accidentally had Inu punished or something.

He paused a little at the next question. "I had a younger brother, and an older sister. I suppose they're still technically my siblings, but I was formally disowned by them as soon as I turned 18. I have several step siblings, but I never got on well with them and don't consider them actually siblings, and I'm sure they feel the same way about me." Eben didn't sound at all sad or disturbed by this, he honestly looked like it was an inconsequential fact he'd just remembered.

So I was in a lot of pain and there was a lotta residual lighting from the strike I guess? So when they brought me in with all the machines and stuff it caused a power overload and everything shut down. I wasn’t really conscious for most of it but… whenever my family talks about it... it sounds scary.” He felt guilty just thinking about it.

Inu stumbled the room his eyes wide with a slight panic. He was here. That was...too easy. He looked down at his hands flexing them before he looked at the door and slammed it shut, locking it. Nobody could get it now, right? Well. Maybe if they had the keys- Inu bit down on his lip and frantically tried to pull over the nearest desk but..failed. Shit. Inu let out a small strangled sound of fear before he took a few steps back and booked it into the bathroom, locking the door behind him. Hopefully he'd be safe here right? Right?

Eben and Roy weren't here yet. He didn't know what to do in all honesty. Hide in the bathroom was..the safest bet wasn't it? No wait- he'd be cornered in here. Inu unlocked the door and stumbled out before he shut the door behind him, breathing heavily as his eyes were wide.

He felt trapped. He felt small and trapped and afraid.

Inu flinched when he heard the two speak and it thankfully snapped him out of his thoughts for a few seconds. He got to his feet and bolted over to the door quickly unlocking it before Inu stared at the two, his eyes wide.

Inu all things considered looked alright. The two most notabely things about his appearance was that instead of the typical blue and yellow sclera Inu had, it was replaced with a grey. His eyes were also a muted blue and yellow. Aside from that and a bloody cut on his hand, Inu was uninjured.

"...I-Is it r-really you..?" He mumbled staring up at them. "R-Roy? E-Eben...?"

"..." Inu gently traced the bandages around his neck with his fingers before he turned away. "...You...mm..can probably..figure out why...I'm not..the best...mm..but I'm trying to get better...."

He leaned closer to Roy, looking him in the eye. "But you," he began, far more decisive, "Cannot be so careless with your own life again, no matter who or what you are trying to protect if it comes to that."

He frowned a little more at Inu's last statement. "Keep in mind that Yeonaixho was perfectly fine with tricking and imprisoning all of us, and after the announcement, anyone still siding with him is also complicit. I think trapping them somewhere for a little while is only fair if it comes to that."

Eben inhaled, face set in a hard stare and a frown as Inu talked. He didn't look Inu in the eye.

"You do know, now. I didn't exactly think to tell you in the moment, there wasn't an infinite amount of time before the powers are retrieved and Yeonaixho becomes hostile." Eben explained. He was even toned, and sounded less like he was explaining a life-or-death decision to his partner and more like he was discussing a business deal. Too unempathetic.

Inu stared into Roy's eyes for a moment, watching him carefully. As Roy placed his hands on his shoulders, then his face he couldn't help but flinch slightly. Not because it was bad. No. He just wasn't used to the tenderness of it all. It was weird to him. Very weird. A good type of weird.

Roy's voice was soft. Gentle. Kind. Something Inu wasn't used to it.

Before Inu could even respond, Roy kissed him and it instantly shut Inu up. Which was nice. Inu's thoughts finally came to a halt as he just embraced the warmth. Something he yearned for and wanted so badly and now it was finally here.

Huh...

How odd.

After a few moments Inu pulled away and leaned into Roy's touch, smiling warmly as the color rose to his cheeks. The deep blues and purples bringing out his freckles if Roy cared to notice.

"Thank you.." Inu whispered in return. "I love you, too."

He paced for a bit, unsure of what to say, guilt gnawing at him and fear building. Eventually he just slumped against the door, sitting with his arms resting on his knees.

He didn’t know what to say- he never would. It would never be good enough to fix what happened. He couldn’t do a thing to help.

God he felt awful. He told Inu he’d get them back, that he’d help them find his brother and he failed miserably.

His heart aches for them, to be so close to having family again and to have that torn away… it was heartbreaking.
