He leaned against the wall, letting out a contented sigh. He was happy to watch them dance, it would be a nice reminder.

For a few seconds, Inu looked a little nervous at the aspect of touch before he glanced over at Roy briefly before back to Eben, following his lead.

"...I see." He said softly. "So like this.."

Eben nodded encouragingly. "just like that."

"Follow my lead" He told Inu, before beginning to take slow steps in a circular pattern, counting all the way. at some point, it stopped being counting and started being humming, some waltz tune in Eben's lower register.

Eben had also already taken account of the aspect of touch, still wearing his gloves and jacket, collar hugged close to his neck.

Roy just silently watched, taking in the scene. He felt… relaxed. Genuinely relaxed. There was a warm feeling settling soft in his heart as he watched his friends dance together.

It was silly, without the music, all there was was the sound of their footsteps. But soon the silence was blessed with Eben’s humming.

It was wonderful. They were wonderful.

Inu made a small sound of understanding before he began to copy Eben's moves, staring down at his feet before back up at him again. He pressed his lips together tightly before he let out a small airy laugh.

Inu too, felt relaxed. For the first time in awhile.

Eben focused back on Inu when the other laughed and his breath caught, the humming ceasing for a moment. He tried to resume the humming as if nothing had happened, despite how briefly unsteady he'd just been. He was all of a sudden hyper aware of Inu's hand in his, of the hand on his waist. He was just as aware of Roy's easy smile, softened eyes. The way they both looked at him.

His eyes flicked over to Roy, then back to Inu, repeating a few times while he waltzed on. Roy, Inu, Roy, Inu. His coat was too heavy and warm.

This was going to be a problem. This was a problem.

Eben slowed their waltz, suddenly staring somewhere to the side of Inu, or just above his head, really anywhere but Inu. "Do you feel learned enough?"

Roy said nothing, waiting for Inu to speak. Maybe Eben was getting tired? It had been a long day… he didn’t seem worried. He still had a relaxed smile on his rosy face.

Inu was totally lost in thought before he blinked a few times to clear his head. "Hm?" He asked. "Oh. Oh. Uhm. I-I guess?" He titled his head slightly before he let out a small hum. "If you think so then..mm...that's fine. I'm just not a professional dancer or anything....haha."

Eben nodded, trying for a smile again. "Good. You and Roy still need to dance, right? You both know how now, and you're not half-bad at it." He told Inu, slowing the waltz to a stop.

He looked at Eben with a look of concern and sympathy. A little you okay? kind of look, before patting him on the arm lightly and walking over to Inu.

He smiled at them. “I’ll warn ya, Eben was a good teacher but I’ll still probably mess up a bit, hehe.” Despite the concerns he seemed really happy.

Eben dropped his hand from Inu's.

"Thank you for the dance, I will remember it." He looked like he meant it.

He stepped away from the two. "I need to get some air, I trust you'll both have remembered how to dance with that refresher."

Inu nodded slowly and watched Eben leave the room before he frowned. Inu pushed some hair out of his face before he sighed heavily. Did he do something wrong? Probably. He assumed so.

He noticed the change in demeanor. “Give him some time, been a long day, y’know? Well, ha, how do you wanna do this? Um, s-shoulder or waist?” He didn’t know what the proper names like lead or whatever. He was a little sheepish but excited.

"Ah..uh. Anything is fine." Inu turned to Roy with a small nod. "I can follow...you. You seem to have a better grip on..what you want to do." He smiled weakly.

He nodded and copied what Eben did, putting a hand on Inu’s shoulder and holding out his hand for them. “You ready?” He had a very goofy smile on his face, hoping to cheer Inu back up.

Inu nodded and gently took Roy's hand into his before he smiled at him- for real this time. "Yeah." He said softly. "I am.'

That warm feeling settled back into his heart at Inu’s smile. He had been working on contact, there was a slight tingling when Inu held Roy’s hand, but it wasn’t uncomfortable.

With a nod, Roy moved into the dance. The movement was a little slower than with Eben, doing his best to remember the steps.

"I found...counting helps." Inu said quietly. "One..two...three." He stepped. "One...two...three." Then again. "Its...easier to keep to the beat?" He leaned in slightly. "Like that.."

He unconsciously leaned in as well. They’re certainly close.

“Mhm.” He was focusing as much as he could, but found his eyes drifting from their steps to the hand on his waist.

It was much like when he first danced with Eben, his skin buzzed at the contact and his heart was racing. Still, the way his heart was beating wasn’t like fear, it was… hm.

Ah, he was getting too distracted. They were getting a little out of sync, so he went back to watching their steps. Still, he couldn’t help but glance at Inu with a smile. “You’re good at this.”

"Hm?" Inu blinked. "Am I? Oh. Th-thank you." He stammered. "I didn't think..I was that...good at this I-" He shook his head to clear his thoughts before he beamed excitedly. Inu felt his heart increase but..it wasn't bad. It wasn't anxiety. It was a nice change.

"I..I am glad you think so." He squeezed their hands. "I..thank you..."

He was beaming. He was so happy seeing Inu happy. “Heheh! I’m glad you’re having fun, bud. This- this is really fun. I’m glad I’m here. I’m glad I met you guys.”

Inu pressed his head to Roy's shoulder and he nodded along. "Mhm.." He agreed. "I-I am...I am glad too...its nice...I never uhh...I never danced before..."

He stilled for a moment at the contact before resuming the dance. “Me too, nothing like this at least.”

His heart was beating so much, surely Inu must be able to hear it.

“Um. Y’know, coming here, as weird as here is, um. I feel like I’ve learned a lot. About myself, my powers, and… and- w-well. I’ve never been this… close to people before. It’s nice…” Tentatively, he leaned his head against Inu’s.

Inu let out a small hum of acknowledgement before he shut his eyes briefly. "...I understand.." He mumbled quietly. "...Sometimes in the strangest places...you can know more about yourself..." Inu rocked back and forth, letting out a small laugh.

He smiled softly. “Yeah.”

All those years of feeling hopelessly alone because of the distance his powers forced him to keep. Now, they brought him here.

Beautiful, how much one can blossom, when they simply allow themselves to.

…Without any music, Roy had no idea how long they were there together. At this point, they weren’t so much dancing, rather just swaying together.

He felt… peaceful.

…Thinking of it, why had he asked them? Sure it was fun, and he wanted all of them to get to dance. Did it really need a reason? It was nice.

He felt very warm. That sort of warmth after he had been playing outside in the rain with his sisters and his mom had warmed up towels for them.

He felt safe.

He felt loved.

Realization. The change in his expression was subtle, but clear in the way his breath shuddered and his eyes widened ever so slightly.

“Oh.”

His movement slowed, and then stopped. Unsure of what to do with himself and this information.

Inu glanced upwards at Roy curious before he titled his head to the side. "Hmm?" He blinked. "Is something...wrong, Roy?" He asked softly and let out a small yawn.

"Sorry...didn't mean to lean on you and everything...mmm..I was getting a bit sleepy and uhmm..." He trailed off looking a bit nervous now. Dang it, did he mess up? Inu felt his anxiety bubble up in his chest before he stared at Roy.

“Hm? Oh! No, you’re fine bud. Just… realized something. Um- y’know, realized it’s late. Its, um… you’re okay.” He didn’t move away from Inu, but… at this realization and how close they were, his face was getting significantly redder as he looked back at them.

If it was possible for his face to be anymore red it would be. As Inu stepped away Roy shook out his hand a bit, smiling brightly. “Y-yeah! Of course- um. Maybe we can… figure out a dance the three of us can do. Won’t have to… take turns that way.” Oh he was in deep.
