[8:08 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"Where did I put my pens??" Titania grumbled to herself as she dug through her various suitcases. After her conversation with Kass, the princess was intent on writing some more things down for her current story, but for the life of her, she couldn't find her supplies. She left a couple of suitcases open as she dug through another, frustration building up on her expression. After a few more moments of searching, she sighed and looked up for the closest person near by.

At that very moment, it would be a man with glasses. "Uhm, pardon me, sir with the glasses and dark hair—Do you perhaps have a pen with ink I could borrow?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[8:10 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Oh, of course!" Darcy smiled, and dug around his bag for a bit. He handed Titania a rather-fancy looking fountain pen. "I never travel without one or two," He laughed. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[8:23 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania's face lit up as she took the pen. "Oh, thank you so much! You are quite literally a life saver," she smiled and grabbed a small stack of papers out from one of the open suitcases. She closed the suitcase up and used it as an improv table for her writing, immensely focused on whatever she was working on. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[8:24 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"I wouldn't go as far as to say that, but you're welcome." Darcy laughed. He looked on curiously as Titania started writing. "Might I ask what you needed it for?" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[9:08 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania took a few moments to answer. She needed to get this one sentence down annnddd done! The princess looked up at Darcy and smiled. "For the story that I am currently writing. It is unfinished and I am only about two fifths in, but I just had the most wonderful idea after speaking to a friend of mine. I wanted to get it down before I forgot about it," Titania replied as she handed the pen back to Darcy.

She stood up and dusted her dress, collecting herself. "I apologize for the rather brute entrance and lack of introduction. I am Princess Titania Anasah. Thank you so much for you assistance, kind sir," she said with a bow. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:12 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

A writer? And a princess? This person certainly seemed quite interesting. Darcy took back his pen, and put it back in his bag.

Darcy politely returned the bow. "Of course! It's my pleasure to make your acquaintance, Princess. My name is Darcy Sterling. And you don't have to apologize for your introduction, I know what it's like to be hit by a sudden wave of inspiration." He chuckled. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[11:03 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania looked over Darcy, finally taking the moment to actually see what the man's appearance was. "The pleasure is all mine, Sir Darcy. Are you a writer as well?" She asked him, intrigued by his inspiration comment. "I have not met many other writers before, so I would be ecstatic to exchange some information!" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[11:13 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"A linguist, actually!" Darcy smiled. "It's similar, in the fact we both deal with a lot of words. Though, I spend most of my time translating things that have already been written by others." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[11:52 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"A linguist?" Titania repeated, tiliting her head in a curious manner. "I cannot say I have ever met one of those before... Though, I do understand the position of translation. I assume you must do the same things.. Or perhaps the titles of interchangeable?" She questioned.

"What sort of things do you translate, Sir Darcy?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[11:54 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Yes, I study linguistics- the study of languages, that is." Darcy hummed. "I don't only translate, but it makes up the bulk of what I do. My specialty is puns, idioms, and other phrases of the like, so most of what I translate falls into that category. Though, I most enjoy translating fiction." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[12:24 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"Oh! So you are a bit of a jester!" Titania concluded, still as excited as she was earlier. "Simply a jester who writes much more than speaks his endearing comments. How lovely! I quite enjoy fiction myself, mainly the horror and psychological genres specifically."

The princess grinned even wider. "You must have a lot of experience with many different types of languages. Do you have any favorite puns? I would love to hear them. A good laugh is important to have, even in tense situations." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[12:37 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Yes, something like that!" Darcy laughed. "I think there's something wonderful about jokes that use language as a basis, especially when they're lost in translation."

"Horror and psychological, hm?" He mused. "Those are rather dark genres, is there anything in particular that draws you to them?"

"There are so many wonderful puns, in so many different languages, it's hard to pick a favorite. One of my favorite multilingual puns is, 'where do cats go when they die,'" Darcy paused a bit for effect, "The answer? Purrgatory! It also works in spanish, as purgatorio, as 'gato' transaltes to cat." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[12:55 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania listened intently to Darcy, slightly rocking her feet as she did so. "I love exploring the human mind. What sort of things people can do when pushed to the extreme. I would never want those sorts of things to happen to real people, but I find myself fascinated by the prospect, so I indulge myself in fiction. There are just so many oddities in each and every individual. You never truly know what someone will do and I find that exhilarating," she answered with a bright smile.

As Darcy continued, Titania couldn't help but laugh a little at his joke. "Oh, an animal pun! How clever. It is quite interesting to see that it works in a whole other language as well. Words can be quite difficult, even for a writer like myself." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[12:58 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"It really is fascinating, isn't it." Darcy hummed. "I find horror stories most potent when they reflect the greater fears and anxieties of a period, especially when it's being currently experienced. There's something almost cathartic about it all."

Darcy smiled. "Thank you! It's one of my favorites. I absolutely understand the struggle of finding the right words, so you aren't alone. There's so many, it can be difficult to choose which ones to properly convey your message." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[9:14 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"Period pieces are quite fascinating. The kind you described I find to be particularly so. It feels almost like a fictional autobiography, in a way. A distortion of how one's thoughts can do to how they perceive the world and its current problems. Definitely an interesting concept, for sure," Titania agreed with a nod.

"Right! Words, even with the slightest of changes and arrangements can have such wildly different meanings, it is tricky to choose which ones you want to use. I can spend days stuck on one piece because I simply cannot find the word I am looking for to describe something. It is awful," she laughed. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:19 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"It's rather interesting, I believe, to understand the ways in which one's real-life beliefs can manifest into their writing." Darcy nodded in agreement.

"Absolutely! I run into the same issue with my translations," He laughed. "Oftentimes, there will be a word that works perfectly in the original text, with no equivalent in the language I'm translating into. It can all be rather frustrating.." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[9:37 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania rocked slightly as she thought about Darcy's words. "It is most certainly interesting to connect a writer's personal bias and beliefs into their writing. Sometimes, I find it rather difficult to feel sympathy for a character in a story if they share the same horrible traits as the author, who uses their writing to try and sway others to feel the same way about a topic. It is quite a shame too, because a story can be quite interesting," she sighed.

"I understand that completely. There are some words in my native language that simply do not have the same, insightful and deep meaning once translated into English. It is rather sad, in all honesty. Some people will never get to hear the true beauty of some things simply because of the difference in cultural barrier." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:42 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

Darcy hummed in thought. "Yes... it really is a shame, when a good story becomes tainted by an author's belief. Some believe that a writers work must be divorced entirely from their beliefs, but I personally disagree with the idea. Oftentimes, one's beliefs become so personal they interfere with the work itself."

He tilted his head in curiosity. "Oh? What language do you speak natively, if I may ask?" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[9:59 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"Yes, yes! My thoughts exactly. I have no problem with authors including their own beliefs into their works, in fact, I can find it quite enjoyable... But some authors are simply terrible beings at the heart, which only taints every work they create. That is both the horror and beauty of art, however. Everyone is entitled to create. It is simply one's own duty to know which to indulge in," Titania hummed.

"My native language is that of Forykinir. I doubt you have heard of it before. My kingdom is... Not quite fond of exploring its outreach. Only those far few and between have been granted the access to my homeland." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[10:03 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

Darcy nodded in agreement. "Truly. I will admit, though, as a researcher, that the beliefs displayed in one's work often make good evidence when arguing about their character." He noted.

"Forykinir, hm?" Darcy mused. "I do admit, I've never heard of that specific language before. Do you know more about it? What language family it belongs to, perhaps, or any interesting features it has?" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[7:19 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania nodded along with the first half of Darcy's reply, before having to pause to think about her response. "I am not fully educated in things such as language families nor do I think I know what would classify as interesting features of Forykinir that I can easily translate into English... Many words in Forykinir are clicks, very similar to some deep sea creatures. I would say Forykinir is much more an isolated language due the location of my kingdom," the princess informed.

They pause for another moment before adding, "I would be happy to teach you some words if you like, Sir Darcy." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[7:24 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Ah, don't worry! Not many people know the families their languages belong to, so it's understandable that you wouldn't know." He lit up at the mention of clicks. "Oh, click consonants are a very interesting feature! Not many languages use them in regular speech, which makes them fascinating, in my opinion." He quickly pulled out his notebook and began writing down some of this information.

He lit up even more at Titania's offer. "Really? I'd be honored!" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[8:46 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

The princess smiled brightly and nodded her head. "Ah, I see. The clicks make up for at least 70% of Forykinir, so it can be difficult to keep up with for those who are not used to the motions," Titania hummed. "May I borrow that pen once more? I can write out some of the basic words. I can even write out the alphabet, if you would like--Well, the alphabet closest to the English one, I suppose. There are about 43 basic characters in the Forykinir alphabet. It will make it easier to pronounce as well." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[8:51 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"I would think so. With how uncommon they are in most other language, it must take a while for any learners to get used to communicating with them." Darcy hummed.

"Of course!" Darcy said, and handed Titania his pen again. "My abilities allow me to easily communicate in any langauge, but I've always found it interesting to learn more about a language itself, rather than relying soley on my powers." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[9:16 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania gently took the pen again, using another scrap sheet of paper to write on. She didn't comment on Darcy's power just yet, focused on writing. After a couple minutes, Titania finally looked back up and showed Darcy what she had written.

"This is how you would say, 'Hello, my name is Titania Anasah', she pointed to the top line, then repeated the same sentence in her native tongue. "And this is how you would spell your name, Sir Darcy," her finger moved to the second line and pronounced it just like the last line.

"And this is how Forykinir would translate into the English alphabet," Titania gestured to the very last section of the page. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[6:07 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

Darcy watched with fascination as Titania showed examples of the writing system, copying down some of inscriptions. "Incredible...." He repeated the pronunciations a bit awkwardly, but pretty accurately. "It's a beautiful alphabet." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[6:48 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania looked quite surprised, yet happy, Darcy was skilled enough to pronounce things correctly the first try. The princess gleamed with an excited smile, and her rocking became a bit more noticeable. "You are quite a natural, Sir Darcy! You did mention your powers help you learn languages easier, but still, quite impressive!" She hummed.

"You are free to have these sheets. Perhaps keep them to study over if you ever come across anyone else who knows Forykinir.. though, that may be far and few in-between." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[7:36 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Thank you!" Darcy smiled. "I do try my best." He laughed a bit awkwardly.

"Really? Thank you! I greatly appreciate it." Darcy smiled. "Even if I don't end up using it much, the knowledge of a new language is worth enough." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[10:16 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania nodded as she handed Darcy the sheet of paper with her writing on it. "I am always happy to help another writer-esque enthusiast! Learning new things is important for everyone, especially for people like ourselves," she chuckled softly.

"If you do not mind, I may need more help later on with some words for my story. Do you think I could come to you and ask about some things then?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[10:19 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

Darcy carefully tucked the paper into his journal, making his own notes about its contents. "As am I! It's always nice to meet someone else with the same interests as oneself."

"I'd be happy to help!" He smiled. "Finding words is a speciality of mine, so if you ever need help, feel free to ask!" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[10:33 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

The princess did a small happy hop as Darcy agreed and she pulled a little on her sleeves. "I most certainly be back for your assistance then, Sir Darcy. If you would ever like to know about Forykinir in more detail and learn more words in general, I will be happy to help as well! Perhaps I can even teach you a few jokes myself," she laughed. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[10:34 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"I would definitely like to know more, perhaps at some later point." Darcy smiled. "In that way, we could help each other out!" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[11:45 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"Yes! That will be a future set event then, Sir Darcy. I am sure we will come across each other again since we are heading to the same place, I assume," Titania hummed. "Now that I think of it, I suppose it does only make sense we are here for the same reason. What brings you to this event, Sir Darcy? Surely you are not here to learn more about your studies?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[11:51 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"I believe everyone here is for the same event, at least, everyone I've spoken to so far has been." Darcy hummed in thought. "I came here out of curiosity, honestly. I'm intrigued by this church, and what all they promise." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[11:57 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania hummed, her rocking slightly slowing down as she listened. "I see. Are you interested in the wish as well, Sir Darcy? Did anyone else you meet say they were either?" She oddly and specifically asked the linguist. The princess had her priorities.@innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[11:58 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"In a sense, yes." Darcy hummed, but didn't elaborate. "Some others I spoke to were, but others came for simpler reasons- the food and shelter offered, or the chance to show off their abilities. What about you?" @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[3:16 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania quietly stashed that information into the back of her mind. "I see.. It is a bit sorry that others came for basic prospects of life... I would of imagined they would come for the fortunes," she commented.

"As for myself... I am here for the wish as well." Titania also didn't elaborate. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[3:18 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Yes.... it's rather unfortunate, that some must rely on the mysterious charity offered by a church, just to survive. If anything, I hope the competitors in that situation get what they're hoping to get out of this event."

He nodded at Titania's mention of the wish. "I see." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[3:24 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania nodded her head in agreement. "Yes. Hopefully even after this event is over, whoever may need the help can rely a bit on this church. I hear churches are meant to provide such aid in typical settings, anyhow," the princess hummed.

She then looked over Darcy for a moment before smiling. "What would you wish for if you win, Sir Darcy?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[3:59 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Yes... perhaps, that is why this church is organizing the event, as a way to provide charity." Darcy mused.

He contemplated Titania's quezon for a moment, before providing a simple response. "I'd wish for knowledge." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[8:49 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania stared at Darcy momentarily, before tilting her head at him. "A wish for knowledge..? Of what sort, Sir Darcy? You seem plenty educated already. Surely, there is not much more you can learn that you have not already been studying." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[5:18 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"I'd rather not elaborate too much, forgive me." Darcy confessed. "It's a bit of a... personal reason. A pursuit of my own." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[9:07 AM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

Titania nodded and waved her hand a little. "No, no. I completely understand. My wish is too, a bit personal. You do not have to tell me if you do not wish to," she reassured him with a faint smile.

"So.. instead of discussing wishes.. May we perhaps have a truce instead? No hard feelings to the other if they win?" Titania offered. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[9:45 AM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Thank you. I won't ask you of yours, either." Darcy gave Titania a soft, reassuring smile.

"A truce? That sounds agreeable." Darcy nodded. "I won't hold it against you if you win and I loose." He promised. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[12:35 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"Agreed. I hope we can both enjoy our time here if we are going to be staying for a while," Titania smiled warmly. She handed Darcy back his pen once more before closing some of her suitcases.

"I believe I shall be mingling with some of the others here now. I would like to introduce myself to others, if they are all as interesting as you and the other woman I met." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[12:38 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

"Of course," Darcy smiled, taking back his pen and tucking it back into his bag. "I do hope we have the chance to talk more sometime, I really did appreciate meeting you." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

[12:54 PM]Aj | Ryunoske+Titania:

"As did I, Sir Darcy. I look forward to speaking to you again at a later time," Titania replied and bowed her head to him before turning back to her suitcases. She had jussst a bit more work to do now that everything was strun everywhere. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

[12:56 PM]innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄):

Darcy politely returned the bow, and bid Titania goodbye, before wandering off to find someone else to talk too.
