MASKTOURN

Invo hadn't bothered to stop by his room at first to come to the gala, but when he noticed most others had changed into some fancier garments, he knew he'd have to go change as well. So, after a minor pitstop, Invo had changed into nicer clothes. They were a little more revealing, but still covered him quite well. His tight curls were out to see as well, and that was a bit strange, but Invo figured there must of been a reason for the change of clothes. Everyone wouldn't do it if it wasn't necessary, after all. Still bearing his mask, Invo lurked in his shadows, only peering out to examine any newcomers. At some point, however, Invo realized it looked more suspicious to not be present. Everyone here was roaming quite freely... would it be odd if he didn't at least blend in? In a corner, Invo stepped out of the nearest shadow and walked over to what seemed to be a food buffet. He scrunched up his nose, unfamiliar with many of the items. @capisnotonfire (edited)

Parties weren't Eremurus' scene. The idea made him anxious. Already, he felt anxious as the flowers on his antlers changed. Geranium. Geranium to ease and calm anxiety via aromatherapy. He reached up towards his antlers, gently touching the flowers before sighing quietly to himself. The mask felt uncomfortable and so did the clothes, even though they were more loose-fitting he just...ugh. It felt wrong. He didn't even know why and the mask didn't help him either. Walking past the crowd, Eremurus made his way to the table and looked at it. Like Invo, his face also crunched up slightly at the unfamiliarity. @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

At first, Invo was content with just staring deeply into a pot of liquid he assumed was punch. (Why was it called punch? It didn't even have hands). His attention was taken when he saw something weird move in the corner of his eyes. He looked up, his gaze landing on what looked like horns(?)—Horns that were attached to a person. On top of their head. Invo stared, unapologetically. "There is a horn stuck on your head," he commented and pointed directly to Eremurus' antlers. "And it is growing a strange flower." @capisnotonfire (edited)

Eremurus looked up when he heard someone speak to him. Slowly he turned his head to Invo and blinked once. Then twice. "Oh," He glanced upwards. "Yes. My antlers. They grow flowers based on how I feel." He clarified. "Geranium is the flower I have growing now." @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

"Ant..lers?" Invo slowly repeated as he looked over the odd shapes on Eremurus' head. Invo tilted his head as gazed at the other young man and he hummed. "Ger-an-ium... strange name," he commented. He stared at the flowers a little more before finally looking back at the masked figure. "...Do you know sign?" @Cap | Eremurus + Valerie

"I know English sign." Eremurus nodded. "Are you more comfortable communicating like that?" He asked. I like sign too. Helps me. I learn visually. Eremurus signed. I'm Eremurus. Do you have a sign-name you'd like me to call you by? @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske (edited)

English sign... an inferior sign, but something Invo did know. He frowned a bit and started to sign in return. Eremurus. Strange name for a strange horned person. You may call me Invo. I have no other name, he replied. His signage was a bit sloppy with ASL, but it got the message across. @capisnotonfire (edited)

I'm named after the flower. Eremurus smiled slightly. They held out their hand and out sprouted a flower, then they offered it to Invo. You can have it, if you'd like. This is the flower I am named after. @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

A flower? I have never heard of it, he commented, and even with signing, you could tell he was somehow mocking the notion. Though, he did glance down at the flower Eremurus created. Did he always have that in his hand? Or did this horned man make it just now? Invo took the flower a little more roughly than a normal person would, but he seemed to examine it with genuine interest. They are also known as foxtails lillies. Eremurus informed. I do not wish to bother you with a tangent on flowers, but, that is well..what they are known as too. They signed. They paused for a moment, thinking about what to say next. Do you know any of the foods here...? I do not...I'm unfamiliar with them. They frowned a bit. @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

Invo hummed. Foxtail lilies? That is a bit on the nose, is it not? He signed in an amused manner. He glanced back to Eremurus before turning his attention to the food beside them. In all honesty, Invo didn't know many foods in general. Everything looked more western style here, so that made it worse.

Not sure. It just seems like a really big board spread.. what do americans call it.. Chart boards? There is a lot of sliced fruit, cheese, and meats. I assume everything here is edible.

Haha! Maybe. But I think its alright. He laughed along slightly. It seems so...I personally don't really eat meat all too often. I prefer to be a bit more vegetarian. Eremerus admitted.

We can sit together and try the food, if you'd like? Can be better if we try it together? The saying is...food is good with friends..right?

Eremerus seemed a bit unsure for a few moments then grabbed a piece of cheese, staring at it and taking a small bite. @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

Invo hummed as he continued to look over the variety of meats and cheeses, before turning to look at Eremurus as they signed. We're not friends, he signs instantly before adding, And I'm not hungry. You should stick to eating the breads and cheese if you're vegetarian. Invo pauses. Are you an animal? Is that why you don't eat meat?@Cap | Eremurus + Valerie

Of course, not. Eremurus agreed. They didn't even seme hurt by what Invo said. But the bread and cheese is a good idea...

Cheese is good at least and to answer yes and no. As you can see my antlers, I have deer like attributes. It doesn't mean I need to conform to the diet, I just do not enjoy meat. The texture is not for me.

Invo hummed as he read Eremurus' sign and he slowly replied back. Why though? He asked and pointed to the other man's antlers. Are you some sort of hybrid? A chimera? Is one of your biological donators a deer? Seems like he was fixated on the fact a deer-man was talking to him. @Cap | Eremurus + Valerie

Hybrid can probably be best used to describe me. My mother was a nature goddess after all. Eremurus explained. Eremurus continued to pick and the bread and cheese, placing it on a plate as he ate some of it. What do you think of this place? @Aj | Invo + Ryunoske

Invo had raised his hands to answer Eremurus' question, but his brain was slow to process what he had first said. Your mother is a God? Which God? He asked, and even if he was just using his hands, Invo somehow sounded demanding. He didn't really care to answer Eremurus until he got his answer. @Cap | Eremurus + Valerie

Invo paused to think, his lips curling a bit as he thought. Invo knew a lot of Gods, but all of them were meaningless and inferior to the Great Hmarab. No, I'm not sure who that is. If I don't know of her, then that is for the better for you, he replied with a shake of his head.

Gods beyond the Great Hmarab are of little interest of me, unless they pose a threat to Her. Rejoice that I do not know of the name of your god.
