Yuga tried every door he passed, but none of them budged. He coughed every now and then. He could hear Isi following him, knowing it was her by the sound of her hooves, but it didn't bother him too much. He was more worried about anyone else following them. He could hear Isi's call telling that nobody was after them, and it relieved his mind. He still wished to find a better hiding place. He breathed heavily and raspily, and before he could slow down to catch his breath, he tripped on his feet, and collapsed to the floor. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Isi resumed following upon hearing him collapse, using the sound of his breathing to figure out where he was in the twisty hallways. It was at this point she realized she probably couldn't find her way back to the dining hall but it's probably fine, right? She crouched down a few feet from him. "Are you okay?" She asked, after catching her breath. She expected him to nod or shake his head in answer, especially with how his breath sounded. Her voice echoed oddly in the hallway and she quite honestly was not a fan of being underground like this, although she wasn't freaking out or anything. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Yuga coughed harshly. His breathing really didn't sound good, and he didn't attempt to get up. He was just lying there on his belly, trying to gather himself. His heart was pounding in his head. Now he felt even more trapped. He didn't know how to get out, and being underground was not a good feeling. He turned his head to look back at Isi, before collecting his limbs under himself and sitting up. He hung his head, holding his paws on the floor for support, and finally shook his head slightly. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

"Okay" Isi replied uneasily to his headshake, trying to fathom what exactly to do. She didn't have any water on her or anything like that, her cloak was still in the dining hall, no one knew they were down here, no one that could help right now, at least- and neither of them had actually managed to get a breakfast besides tea. "If you can walk, we can try and get out of here- or I could support you somehow, but I get the feeling you don't wanna be touched. If I left you to find someone, I don't know if I'd find my way back-" They rambled a little, thinking out loud, more for their own sanity than to Yuga's benefit. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Yuga listened to Isi ramble, and started feeling bad that he had caused trouble to them. He put his face in his paws, dizzy and overwhelmed. He sat there like that for a while. Finally, he took his hands away, and started getting up on his feet. He was shaking still, but could stand up, taking support from the wall. He coughed in his sleeve. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Isi stood up after he did with a little sigh. "If you start to fall again, are you okay with me catching you or something?" They framed it as a yes/no so Yuga could just nod or shake his head. Their mind drifted back to Peregrine, wondering what possibly happened that could lead to those injuries and Petrai brandishing a crossbow. Yeah they didn't like the guy a whole lot but he'd looked beaten enough that it honestly made her wonder what the church viewed as appropriate 'punishment'. She'd ask if he was okay later if she ran into him at the dorm or something. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Yuga looked at Isi a little suspiciously, and considered it. Isi wasn't a human, and they had seemed to only try and help Yuga. They had even made sure to give him space after noticing he didn't like to be touched. He believed he could probably trust her. At least he felt she was more on his side than the church staff, at least at the moment. As he thought about it more, he wasn't even sure if the church staff were a threat. It had felt like that in the moment, but he didn't really know that. He nodded his head. He would be okay if Isi caught him from falling. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Isi gave him a little smile, feeling very relieved at that. "Lets get out of here then, I don't think I've ever done a maze before" Isi told him, deciding to treat it more like an adventure or a game, if only for her sake. As she started walking, it was difficult not to do so quickly, but they didn't want to make Yuga go faster than he was able right now either. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Isi paused with Yuga as he coughed, taking the time to sniff the air, see if she could get anything meaningful. She got a whole lot of hallway, but she also got some other smells, mostly various spices and dried things, concentrated in one area. They turned to Yuga. "I think I know where we have to go, it's not far-" Honestly if wherever she was smelling had food like she thought it did, she'd prefer to eat there rather than in the dining hall at this rate. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Yuga wanted to get out as soon as possible as well. He didn't feel good, but managed to keep up with Isi.

Petrai didn't say a word as she led Roque down the dark and dingy underground hallways. She kept her gaze on the halls stretching out before her, and her hands steadily holding her loaded crossbow. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Roque kept her hands shoved in her pockets as they walked. She was glancing around, almost anxiously. "Where'd you put my scythe at, Petrai? I'd love to get my hands on that baby first." Roque drawled slowly, her tone nearly dripping with... Excitement? @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"It'll be given back to you just before you depart back to the mainland." Petrai replied simply. She didn't make eye contact with Roque. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

"Mm. And did anyone ever have any.. Problems with it?" Roque asked, looking over to Petrai and smiling. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Did you now? I'm sure you think you did a great job, dear." Roque chuckled, and paused in her tracks. She grabbed the tie of her robe and pulled it, sliding the garment cleanly off of herself. It obviously wasn't anything that Petrai hadn't already seen- symbols, scars, tits, etc- but what was new was a scar that had just opened in the center of her back, over her spine. It was a quickly spreading, thin line. Goopy, black blood began to drip from it as it grew, but Roque showed no reaction. "I think you'll see that you made quite a large misjudgment." She flinched, choking back a groan as red blood rushed out from the wound. The glob of red blood rushed to her hand, quickly forming her scythe once again. Red veins of blood sprouted from the handle, writhing and throbbing as they anxiously wrapped around her hand and wrist, securing it in place. She raised it up in the air. Petrai hadn't previously been facing Roque, but turned to face her as soon as she disrobed. The very moment Roque raised her scythe up at her, Petrai fired her crossbow, straight through the meat of Roque's forearm. As soon as the shot was fired, she reloaded the crossbow. "You liar," She spat. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

The shot hit true, for sure, but Roque merely ripped it out with her free hand. The red veins began to fill in the gaping hole in her flesh, closing up the injury fairly quickly. "You'll have to try a bit harder than that, bitch." Roque laughed. "But I suppose dear ol' Yeo' will know that I'm injured now.. Let's take this conversation away from prying eyes and ears." Instead of bringing the scythe down on Petrai, she stabbed the blade in to the floor. She swiftly drew a circle, and at the same time, stepped closer toward Petrai. The portal in to the bloody void opened as Roque stepped, and she lifted the scythe up once again. Now, she sent the scythe out at Petrai, clipping her around the waist from the back. She yanked the scythe forward, both cutting in to Petrai's back and shoving her toward the portal. She was close to follow behind, giving one last push to Petrai to ensure she fell in before jumping in behind her. The portal promptly closed up behind them, leaving no trace to where they went, besides for Roque's robe laying strewn out on the ground..

Good. Coast was clear. Roque shoved Petrai up on to the floor and then stepped up herself. The portal promptly closed behind them. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Petrai groaned as Roque dragged her up, but didn't yet wake. Elsewhere in the hall, two pairs of approaching footsteps could be heard. "Petrai!" A voice- distinctly Yeonaixho's- called out. "Petrai!" @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Fuck. If it was just Yeonaixho, Roque could have handled that.. But the other set of footsteps left too much to chance. She grabbed her robe in one hand, the other still holding her scythe, and ran off down the hall in the opposite direction of the footsteps. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"There she is- she's getting away!" Called out a deep, masculine voice that'd be foreign to Roque. Just as Roque was about to turn the corner, all the muscle in her body would seize to a grinding halt. She'd crumple to the floor as he body went numb. The paralysis only spread through her limbs and muscles- she'd still be awake and aware, just unable to move. Behind her, the two men rushed to Petrai. "Her wing's been injured... and she's so bruised..." The non-Yeonaixho man muttered. Roque wouldn't be able to see it, but as she lay numb on the floor Yeonaixho laid his own hands gently over Petrai's wings, healing the damage Roque had caused. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

What was happening..? This couldn't- this couldn't happen to her. She was above this. She tried with all of her might to move, but she just couldn't. The only thing moving on her was the bloody veins of her scythe continuing to move up her arm. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Take Petrai to her room. I'll come see her in a bit. She should be... at least somewhat stable now." Yeonaixho instructed the other man. What followed was the brief shuffling noise of a body being shifted, and the departure of the other man's footsteps. Yeonaixho then approached Roque. He kept her numb- it was definitely his doing this, she'd be able to tell by how the feeling intensified as he approached her- and kicked the scythe away from her hand, out of her reach. Roque wouldn't be able to fight it as Yeonaixho hoisted her over his shoulder and carried her away. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

The veins snapped off of her wrist as the scythe was kicked away. She continued trying to fight him off, but it was of no use. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

With hands now covered in thick gloves (with both a wollen lining and leather casing- the thickest globes he could find), Desmondus approached Roque's scythe. Tentatively, he put a gloved hand over it, not yet lifting it up. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Desmondus was generally a really uneasy guy, so all things considered this didn't freak him out too much. He pulled the scythe up to a standing position. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

There was that uncomfortable feeling as he did.. one particularly strong wave of weirdness produced a small voice in his head. There was no urge to act on it, however. 'Kill.... Kill............. Roque......" A tiny voice called out. The red veins that usually attached themselves to the wielder's hand hung loosely in the air. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Desmondus held the scythe out as far as he physically could from his body, and continued down the hallway like this. To distract from the voice pleading murder, he repeated prayer mantras in his head. I submit my body and will to God. I give my soul and voice to God. Seeing as that was having no effect, the voice of the scythe seemed to change tactics. "Help...... us.... please..." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Desmondus didn't pay any attention to that, either. He'd memorized the entire Revised Loucari Prayerbook, 8th edition when he was twelve years old, and he had about four hundred more verses to go before he even got to the next chapter. After mass, Albanes went straight down through the underground halls. It was too cold to justify going outside, and she needed the space to process the news she'd been told halfway through the ceremony. Desmondus had left to go tend to his sister. Albanes gathered herself, adjusting her loose vest in hopes it wouldn't fall over her shoulder again. She didn't meet Eli's eyes, but cast her gaze aside in restless anxiety. "Did you hear about Roque...?" @Cap! | Valerie + Inu + NPC'S

"No- well, uh, she has been causing problems. Enough that Father's decided to remove her from the tournament, but-" Albanes frowned. "Apparently, she attacked Petrai, only a few hours ago. Apparently, she's really hurt." @Cap! | Valerie + Inu + NPC'S

"...Ah." Eli frowned and shook his head. "Alright...well...its...mmmnn.." He crossed his arms with a heavy sigh. "...At least..she's fine now...this is all so crazy...ugh." After speaking with Peregrine, Petrai descended underground. Yeonaixho had told her to 'take it easy' for they say following her injury, yet she had so much restless energy she just ended up pacing around the island with a readied crossbow. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

She wouldn't get to wander for long before there was a set of foot steps approaching from behind her. She would already know who it was before she had to turn around, obviously, but Madeline still seemed to be trying to stay quiet and unobtrusive. "Petrai." Petrai startled uncharacteristically, but turned around. "Madeline." She greeted with a nod. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

"No- it was Peregrine, actually, but no, I'm fine." Petrai sighed. "I haven't seen Roque- in person- since she was imprisoned." @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

"Whatever trouble she causes is just more for me to answer with the hand of justice," Petrai ran a hand through her hair. Though she spoke in a calm tone, her rising emotion was evident in the way she shifted her body and measured her words. "It doesn't matter if she's behaving now, or if she's causing trouble. "Petrai.. You can't kill her." Madeline said, taking a step closer. "As much as you want to you- you can't.. it wouldn't be right." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

".. That doesn't- that doesn't matter." It did make sense, though, all things considered. If anyone here knew Yeonaixho before he became the Lifebringer, it would have been Petrai. Petrai pressed her hands to her face, clearly trying to stop herself from crying. "Yeonaixho needs corpses. He would be grateful if I delivered him one." @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

"That's-" Madeline took in a deep breath. "That's good. Better. Not good but- yeah, better.." She paused for a little while, trying to calm herself down. "Will it.. Hurt them..? Will they be the same..?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

She tightly gripped a small piece of fur on her leg and yanked it off, stuffing it into a crack in the stone. She could follow the scent back, hopefully, at least as far as here. Hannah growled at seeing the lightning. Her grip loosened up on the tree quite a lot, leaving more of it on Kal and Titania. "Do you really think- you can beat all of us? Really? It would be better if you just gave up and pretended like you didn't see us." Hannah grumbled, sneering over at Teya. Mostly at the trident. "I always knew you were the hardass one. Shame you didn't die with the rest of the kids back then, or whatever your sob story was you were telling the idiot. That would have made our little trip much easier." Roque said with a grin. With all the back and fourths, Titania was growing anxious. She didn't want to fight, far from it. The princess understood fighting often resulted in only more violence.. but with nothing in sight that could hold Teya down, and with none of them having their powers, physical force is there only option if Teya refused to move. Slowly, Titania lowered her end of the tree onto the ground. "P-Please.. we do not wish to hurt you.. but you leave us no choice if you d-do not let us go.." Kal set his end of the tree down. He moved closer to Teya, hands extended out, ready to strike. His position was that as a boxer. “Come on, please don’t make us do this. Teya attempted to stab Kal with her trident, but missed entirely. @jail

One arm around his neck and another around his knees, she picked him up horizontally and threw him straight at Teya longwise. "Yeah, I got a lot more people left around to throw." Roque chuckled. She didn't, really, but it was fun to think about.

Roque was laughing as she heard Peregrine's struggle. Oh, that was just perfect. He got used as a battering ram then stabbed.. Beautiful. All that commotion gave her a strong sense of where Teya and Peregrine were scuffling. She charged at them, managing to run in to Teya and knocking them both back to the ground. She ended up on top of Teya, sitting on her stomach and leaning over her. She moved her hand up to Teya's face- awkwardly trying to feel her way around before she gripped on and forced her head to stay down on the ground. She leaned over toward Teya's face, grinning and showing off her fangs. "It's been soooooo long since I got a proper meal, so thank you for giving me the opportunity." Roque chuckled and quickly moved her head down to Teya's neck, where she bit down on the sides and began drinking up the blood that came flowing out. Teya screamed and thrashed as Roque straddled her, though her protests faded to desperate whimpers as it dawned on her how defenseless she had become. Teya was not often one to cry, but it had been a long day. @jail

Hannah understood why Ryu was so insistent that she was a good person. This freak was who she was getting compared to!!!!! Hannah couldn't do anything but watch in horror, thankfully the tree limbs blocking a bit of her view. Roque lifted her head back up, blood now dripping down her chin and back on to Teya's face. "You taste a bit sweet, you know that? Something about lightning, I think, it just tastes that way." Roque chuckled warmly. She leaned down and placed a bloody, wet kiss on Teya's forehead before standing up, not bothering to clean off her own face. Teya didn't even protest, but slumped lamely on the floor. She put a hand to her fresh wound, but didn't do anything else. Seems like everyone was free to go... @jail

As the group moved forward, they'd come to a door at the end of the corridor... a door that led them straight out into the #dining-hall @jail

The underground tunnels were dark, dismal and cold. Petrai led the group silently through it, only communicating through simple hand gestures. She seemed to have no trouble seeing where she was going, even in the dim light. @expedition gang

Ryu followed directly behind Petrai and motioned for everyone to wait at a corner before passing further into the hall. She took in a deep breath before releasing a greyish-blue smoke from her lips. The smoke seeped deep into every crevice and hole it could get into and spread quickly through the halls. After a few moments, Ryu gave the go ahead with a wave. @expedition gang

(forgot we’re all replying lmao) Enya’s sticking closer to the front of the group for right now, but unfortunately, her eyes don’t adjust as quick as she’s moving—she walks directly into whoever might have been in front of her. Luckily she doesn’t trip but it’s a close one. Homegirl nearly couldn’t beat a DC of 5 smh. Somewhat mortified, Enya drops back to cover the rear instead and hopes no one else could see well enough to notice as the group moves ahead. @expedition gang

Valerie couldn't help but let out a tiny laugh at Enya before she walked over to her and offered Enya, offering her hand to help her get to her feet. "Careful, Enya." She said softly. "Don't get too excited.." Then she took a few steps forward. "...Let me know when I should change the ground." She whispered to the group. @expedition gang

Petrai only answered Valerie's question with a curt nod, signaling that now was a good time as ever to do so. She continued down the corridors, leading the group further into the pitch black of the labyrinth. @expedition gang

Of course, as luck would have it, descending deeper into the dark hallways is setting an already-stressed Enya even further on edge. There’s a faint crackling noise as she (tries to) carefully follow the others in—and the briefest flash of blue at her feet accompanying it as a few of her footsteps sear into the floor. She winces in pure embarrassment, snuffing the flames almost as soon as she realizes, but the damage has been done. Homegirl rolled a 3 i think it was. Everyone definitely saw this time. YEA

Valerie watched Enya before she couldn't help but let out a tiny laugh. Girl. Then she shook her head and placed her hands on the ground, watching it turn into sand to muffle their footsteps. @expedition gang

At Enya's falter, Petrai spun around, clearly angry even the low light. "We're trying to be stealthy here." She hissed, probably louder than she should've been. @expedition gang

Enya’s face burns bright red at the reprimand, and she freezes in place until Valerie is finished changing the floor. Good thing that she didn’t do that until now (and also Enya passed her roll) so Enya won’t accidentally make glass! From here on out she’s quiet enough, though. Maybe the embarrassment helped. @expedition gang

Roy went along, surprisingly stealthy for such a typically clumsy guy. He gave Enya a little smile and thumbs up to cheer her on. @expedition gang
