Yeonaixho brought Peregrine into his room and over to the bed, sitting him down on the side of it. He leaned over the Angel, and slowly, teasingly, began to disrobe, revealing the intricate patterns tattooed across his chest and abdomen. The patterns consisted of lilies, stars, and spiraling flora, with a large moon shape in the center of his chest. With one hand used to pull off his layers of robes, Yeonaixho ran the other through Peregrine's hair, tracing his jawline and face. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine sat on the bed. His fingers toyed at his own clothes as Yeonaixho disrobe. He hesitated, admiring the tattoos, then he asked, "Am I allowed to take my own clothes off or would you want to do the honours?" He leaned into the touch on his face. "Oh, let me. I'll take care of you." Yeonaixho cooed, slipping a hand under Peregrine's shirt. With his other hand, he slid a finger into Peregrine's mouth. "Now, shhh..." @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine didn't mind himself, laying on his stomach and letting his wings stretch out. "I would hope I performed well. I've been practising for the better part of a decade. And you're not quite the best I've had but I don't think anyone can reach that standard." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"I'm not offended." Yeonaixho shrugged. "I certainly didn't gain my merit by being good in bed, it's not something I feel I need to succeed in. The wings, though... you weren't able to change my mind on that." He furrowed his brow. "A decade? Aren't you twenty-five or so?" @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

"No, you gained your merit by something else, didn't you?" Peregrine cackled to himself. "Well, I said roughly, not exactly. Don't worry your godly little head about it darling. You received the best of my efforts, no matter your bias." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Bodily sacrifice, in fact. Which on paper sounds a lot similar to it, but often involves more... permanent damages." Yeonaixho's hand traveled to frame his temple, highlighting the scars beneath his eyes. "Mhm, still. I know I lost my virginity young, but you must've been younger." His pale eyes widened. "Though, I suppose I'm in little place to judge." @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

"Bodily sacrifice..." Peregrine repeated with a wry chuckle. "I sacrificed my body a long time ago." He was not getting it. "Hm... you'd be surprised, I only had my first kiss when I was... hm, sixteen? And it wasn't even real, it was just so I could be left alone." He cackled slightly. "Not in the same way," Yeonaixho teased, and gently traced Peregrine's cheekbone, stopping close to his eyes. "Or else you'd be lacking something like I do." "Mhm, shame. Though, with how you speak about yourself, it doesn't surprise me." Yeonaixho hummed. "Otto, hm? Will I have to worry about him tracking me down because of what just happened? "Well, I am quite lacking in boundaries, my fiancée used to say. And my virginity, that's long gone by now." Peregrine leaned into the touch with a hum. He gently picked up Yeonaixho's hand and traced his fingers over his eyes for him. "These little things, I presume?" Peregrine cackled, dropping Yeonaixho's hand. "Well, really it's a claim of ownership. I don't love him, only dated him for a favour, broke up for love, and then again because there was nothing else. I don't think he really likes me either. He just likes to be the one who owns the Angel more permanently. So... yes, we're quite open. He's the one who puts me with the people who are desperate for the Angel. "It was either my eyes or my tongue- and they were hesitant to agree to the tongue anyways- it's not as much of an impact. I didn't care, either way. I'd decided that my sight was trivial enough to give away. And well, look at me now. I'm doing fine without it." "Ownership, hm? Does he control you? Or is his possession simply for show?" "You're certainly doing fine." Peregrine chuckled lightly. "You couldn't even see how beautiful I am and yet you still managed to make the right decision." Boy. "Hm, well, it's mostly for show, but he dishes me out onto people who want to touch divinity and I provide. You'd be shocked at what people want to do to the Angel... some, like you, make me beg, some beg me and some... they just take." His chuckle persisted but sounded forced. "Oh, you don't need to reinforce anything like that, dear." Yeonaixho cooed. "I'm God. I'm doing better than fine." "Ah, so he's like a glorified manager, then." Yeonaixho nodded. "Do people pay him to see you? I can't imagine he'd freely give away something so desirable as access to you. Everything has a price." At the comment on his godhood, Yeonaixho laughed. "I'm not surprised. You don't encounter many gods at all, do you? And I'm something far more important." He sighed. "The Lord and his Angel... darling, isn't it? "Well he's rich enough already. Famous actor. Though I suppose he must require some funds after paying my way. Hotel rooms, drinks, food, clothes. He spoils me, that can't be cheap, can it?" Peregrine hummed with laughter. "I suppose I am the price." Did that make sense? No. "I don't encounter many angels either. It's why I'm the Angel, rather than a angel. Or an, I suppose." Peregrine sighed and stretched himself out on the bed, smirking in the pillow. "Denying my existence after you saw all me? Tsk, tsk, Hand of God." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Both the price and the reward, hmmm." Yeonaixho hummed in thought. "And the recipient, as you mentioned how much he pays for you. You truly are dependent on him, aren't you?" "And yet again, by labeling yourself as the Angel, singular as the title is, you have named yourself perpetually inferior." He leaned close down over Peregrine, letting his hair fall over the man's body and face. "I, as God, am the consecration of power in the universe. I am ultimate, and I am infinite. You, angelic, while beautiful, are a messenger. A herald, a plaything. You will always be less than I am. I am the sun, and you are a fleeting comet, borrowing my brilliance." "Oh. Peregrine chuckled. "Well, other people help pay my way too. But really, it's all Otto deserves. He was the one who allowed me to break into that lifestyle in the first place, even if I didn't appreciate the good he did me for the first few months." Peregrine pushed himself up onto his elbow and smirked, eyes travelling up and down Yeonaixho. And yet, he was still below. "Now, where I am, we don't exactly have God. Even if one existed, it wouldn't quite reach into our corner, where we lurk. And so, the halo of the Angel shines ever brighter. Even a comet impresses the meek. I'm good enough for the people who need me?" Peregrine leaned closer to Yeonaixho, running his fingers through the other's hair. "Really? Now that's a surprise." Yeonaixho tilted his head to the side, letting his hair trail across Peregrine's face. He traced a line down his jaw. "And what, pray tell, didn't you like about those early days? What was it that you had to get used to?" "Dear, if you did not have God where you're from, you would not exist. "Oh," Peregrine crooned, a grin pushing itself out onto his features, almost natural. "I just wasn't settling in. Didn't quite understand what I had signed up. Generic teenage angst, you understand, don't you? But the habit grew on me just at the right time, when finally people could touch the Angel." He chuckled lowly again and traced circles on Yeonaixho's cheek with his thumb, the grin falling but the tone sticking. "The world is full of parents and actors and socialites who expect you to earn your keep and, trust me, I have certainly gone above and beyond." Peregrine shrugged with one shoulder. "I never really look at the hand that feeds me. Easier to keep eating that way." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Mmmhhhmm." Yeonaixho hummed in understanding, and in something more, as Peregrine spoke. "You acclimated to your environment, didn't you? How preciously mortal. Is that why you sought me so desperately? A need to 'earn your keep' by pleasuring me?" He let out a low chuckle as Peregrine traced his cheek, moving his own hand over his lip. "Yet now, you have. You've seen the hand. You've seen God, in a way that few are privileged to." Gently, he slipped two fingers into Peregrine's mouth, pressing on his tongue. "Couldn't you say the same about yourself?" Peregrine returned his own hum, his thumb beginning to travel down to Yeonaixho's chin. "Well, there's really no one else worth 'pleasuring' here, is there? Why put myself through them when the real prize is you?" As he spoke, Peregrine leaned forward, his lips grazing Yeonaixho's upper cheek "And the bragging rights? Irresistible, my Lord." Peregrine tilted his head as if to shrug, relying on their close proximity for Yeonaixho to feel the movement, a smile playing on his face. "Mm." "I did not acclimate to anything. I changed the world to fit my purposes." Yeonaixho rolled his head back. "Oh, I'm desirable to you, aren't I? You made it very clear how much you wanted me before. Am I really that special, in your eyes?" He let out another low, gravelly laugh as Peregrine played with his fingers, then retracted them only for a moment, so that Peregrine would be able to speak. "I did ask you a question," He leaned over Peregrine, his lips a fraction of an inch from his ear. "Do you still wish to eat?" @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine chuckled as Yeonaixho spoke, nodding to his question, his fingers still on his tongue. Once they were removed, he let out a slightly dramatic sigh. "You did." "Then it would be graceless of me not to satisfy you..." Yeonaixho cooed, pressing his body to Peregrine's. ~ fading to black AGAIN. WHORES ~

~ WHORES ~ Peregrine had now sat up, his wings wrapped around himself. Yeonaixho couldn't see it, he thought, so there was no point pretending. "Perhaps you're improving. Thanks to my expertise, of course," he teased. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Perhaps I am." Yeonaixho hummed. He sat up at the side of the bed and brushed his long hair out of his face. "Or perhaps, you're still acclimating to a divine presence. I'm going to go clean up, you're free to remain here as long as you like." @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

"Me? Acclimating? Darling, I am a divine presence, I don't need to acclimate," Peregrine teased, leaning his head to the side. "Yes, yes, you can't emerge from your quarters in such a state, what would your believers think? Tsk tsk." However, Peregrine was already standing up, stretching out his wings. "Cleaning up may perhaps be the best course of action." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"And as previously discussed, I am far more divine presence than you." Yeonaixho left towards his en-suite bathroom. "That's the idea, isn't it. You aren't invited to join me- it'd just defeat the purpose of cleaning up in the first place." Leaving Peregrine on that, he shut the bathroom door on himself. A few minutes later, the sound of running water could be heard. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

"Afraid I'd dirty you further? I see," Peregrine replied teasingly, shaking his head to himself. Letting his wings settle down first, Peregrine began to peruse the bedroom, first walking around the bed then sitting down in one of the armchairs, tossing his legs over the arm. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

The fireplace isn't lit, but looks like it has been recently, at least within the past few days. That made sense- it was quite cold. The small table by the armchairs was covered in a stack of books- all braille, some with other sheets of notes tucked between the pages- and a mug of day-old tea. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine picked up the mug of tea and- and he drank it? Okay. He picked up the books and flicked through them boredly. Man doesn't know braille. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

The tea was bitter, cold, and disgusting. Ew. The books- and accompaynying notes, presumably made by Yeonaixho, would be quite boring to anyone who didn't know braille- there were, of course, no illustrations or diagrams to hint at what the book's subject might be. It was a mystery, and a rather boring one at that. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine dumped the books back onto the table and spun himself off the armchair. He paced in front of the fireplace, as if to pretend it was lit. He sighed dramatically, shifting from side to side. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

The fireplace remained unlit, of course. There were a few trinkets on the mantle- a wilting lily in a vase, a small statue of a crow. Again, nothing too interesting. There were strikingly few decorations to look at- no paintings on the walls, no visual intrigue. It made sense, for a blind man. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine huffed. Clearly even though Yeonaixho wouldn't be able to appreciate any of it, he should totally have some decorations just so Peregrine could have something to look at. He wandered around the room and entered the study partition, humming to himself. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

There was at least more to look at in the study- the open windows provided more light, and the desk was absolutely covered in documents- all of them braille, of course. Yeonaixho's brailler- a typewriter-like machine with less buttons and a chrome shell- was even on the desk, he'd left a document half-written sometime before he'd brought Peregrine in. There was another discarded mug with even grosser discarded tea, and another wilting lily flower. One of the desk's drawers had been left slightly open, revealing the files piled inside. Strangely, the files and books in the drawer were scribed in print, rather than braille. Peregrine could read these. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine decided he was going to chug the tea again. Ew. "Not the worst thing I've drank," he convinced himself. Unhinged behaviour king but sure. He ran his hand along the wilting flower, his eyes trailing along the desk until they naturally fell upon the open drawers. He raised a brow at the print and leaned down to read them, not even bothering to actually pick them let alone sort through them. "Hand of God, yet can't even hide a secret..." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

The second cup of old tea was somehow, even worse than the first cup. It was somehow both too liquid-y and too slimy, and tasted pecurily like dust (probably because there had been a lot of dust in the cup, too.) There were no more old cups of tea for Peregrine to drink, so hopefully he'd learnt his lesson. All the books in the open drawer were journals- falling apart at their hand-sewn seams, labeled in scrawled, messy handwriting. The easiest to see was labeled, 'Necromatic Concepts: A1-S12, Permability of the Soul?' @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine grimaced but convinced himself, in his head this time, that he had drunk worse things. He probably had, to be fair. Peregrine picked up the journal, muttering its name under his breath and flicking through it before hiding it under his shirt. For later reading. The journal was filled with hand-scrawled notes, and the occasional anatomical diagram of the brain, throat or heart. Peregrine would have to be very careful with it as he picked it up, or else it might fall apart in his hands. The other journals were titled similarly: 'Necromatic Concepts: D23-A12, Bodily Recognition', 'Necromatic Concepts: M22-O6, Regeneration & Decay', 'Necromatic Concepts: J7-L19, Do Ghosts Exist?'. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Well the journal was stuffed inside of his shirt against his chest and stomach so who knows if it'll survive the journey. He boredly glanced at the other journals, chuckling slightly, then he sat down on the desk chair and propped his feet up on the desk. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Peregrine's swinging his feet up onto the desk caused a good number of the books and documents to go falling to the floor, making a loud crashing sound. Maybe Yeonaixho wouldn't be able to hear the crash above his shower? @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine didn't give a shit, he just leant back in the chair and sat there for a good, comfortable minute

The running water quickly shut off. Only moments later, Yeonaixho emerged from the bathroom, his hair sopping wet, a towel wrapped around his waist. "What happened? Is everything alright?" @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

Peregrine cackled. "You thought there was some emergency where I was in danger, and yet you're still so modest. After all our exploration..." He got up from the chair. "Everything is quite all right, my Lord. If you still want to be called that." @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Did you knock over my books?" Yeonaixho quickly dismissed Peregrine, walking over to his desk and crouching by the mess of books beside it. He frowned, disappointed that all his research was now on the floor. "Shit." Standing back up, he faced Peregrine. "I think it's time for you to leave, now." @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

"Not on accident," Peregrine teased. "I kid, darling." He stepped back, raising his hands. "Not the worst way I've been dismissed, you should know." To his credit, if you had to give him some, he did start to leave. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

"Get on with it." Yeonaixho waved dismissively, and began reorganizing his research- something he apparently cared for a lot more than he did Peregrine. @soul | peregrine 🎭 + ekmeros 🎻

"Ta-ra, darling." Peregrine waggled his fingers before he did in fact leave. Wow. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

... Madeline and Ryu were walking down the hallway toward Yeonaixho's door. Madeline had slowed down, taking particular steps to avoid creaking floorboards. She seemed pretty well versed at this by now, so hopefully Ryu would know to follow her lead. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

Ryu never was too far behind Madeline, but her size always made snooping a harder task. Regardless, she did her best to be vigilant. She didn't see anyone yet.. but that didn't mean no one was around. As Madeline and Ryu neared the door, they could hear the hushed, distinct voices of two individuals speaking inside Yeonaixho's room. "I just... I'm so afraid. Why would she do that, Father? It doesn't even make sense! She's not like this!" "I know, I know. It's hard, when we learn those we love don't have our best interest at heart. I know you cared for her, Albanes. Madeline froze as she heard the voices. She didn't care so much about Yeonaixho, but hearing Albanes.. Crying about her again.. Madeline didn't move any closer to the door, only trembling and crossing her arm over her stomach. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄) @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

It was pretty easy to guess who Albanes and Yeonaixho were talking about, thanks to how Madeline reacted. Ryu glanced between the door and Madeline before shaking her head. "...I can try to make them fall asleep, but if it doesn't work.. it'll be force," Ryu whispered to her. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Ryunoske nodded. She took a faint step closer to the door where the hinges and smallest openings were in it, and closed her eyes once again. Taking in a breath, she slowly exhaled. Instead of the usual colorful smoke Ryu breathed, this smoke was light in color, greyish-white and almost translucent in the light. The smoke directly filtered into the cracks and crevices inside of Yeonaixho's room, slowly but surely getting into the air the two inside had to breathe in. "You can open it. They'll be out long enough for us to make the announcement," Ryu said, her voice only slightly lower than normal. "I'd like to get this over with as quickly as possible." @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

"O-okay.. If you're sure." Madeline said quietly and pushed the door open the rest of the way with a loud creak. She stepped inside and glanced around, seeing the intercom sitting on the desk. "You can go make the announcement. I'll watch over Albanes and Yeonaixho to make sure they're not waking up already." Madeline said and stepped up beside them, mostly just next to Albanes. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

Yeonaixho and Albanes were sitting on the bed together- Albanes leaning on Yeonaixho's shoulder, Yeonaixho with his arm around Albanes in a paternal embrace. Both were sound asleep. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Ryu nodded and stepped into the room with no hesitation. She headed straight to the intercom and messed with it for a moment before speaking... @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

While Ryunoske was making the announcement, Madeline gently took one of Albanes hands and held it. She leaned forward and moved up their hands until the back of Albanes hand was gently resting on Madeline's cheek. As Ryu finished making the announcement, Yeonaixho shifted, rising from Albanes's side. "What the... Albanes?" Not yet fully noticing Madeline's or Ryu's presence, he gently jostled his daughter's shoulder to wake her up. Albanes startled awake, moving her hand away from Madeline. "Madeline, what's going on...." She scanned the room, until she spotted Ryu at the desk "-Father, there's a guest in here!" @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

Hearing Albanes and Yeonaixho ruffle up from their slumber, Ryu quickly pressed the open mic button, keeping the pa system playing on its own. "Alright, worm girl. Let's get a move on," Ryunoske said as she started for the door. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄) @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

Madeline hardly had time to react to both of them waking up before Ryu said that they needed to get going. She gripped on to Albanes' hand tighter. "Albanes. "Wh- what's going on, why did-" Albanes stammered. She kept glancing between Madeline, Yeonaixho, and very occasionally Ryu, "Who is that? Why- were were we knocked out?" Typically, Ryu would of already swung at Yeonaixho, but for reasons she'll never say out loud, she didn't. Instead, she blew another hefty plume of sleeping smoke at him, and only him. Well. Ryu kidnapping Yeonaixho didn't make Madeline look very good now did it. But she still wasn't going to leave. Ryu didn't even get three steps down hall before Albanes got her in the knee. That hurt like a fucking bitch, Ryu will tell you. She toppled over, and used Yeonaixho as a landing cushion, which wasn't much considering he was a lanky sack of bones, but it was something. Sorry, old man. "Urg–You seriously think I killed him? Your father is no God if you think a little smoke would do that to him-" Ryu huffed, a flare of white smoke coming out her lips and directly onto Albanes' face as well. "Take a nap. But fueled by her utter insanity toward Albanes, she managed to get her up on her shoulder and staggered out after Ryu. "Wh-where- where do we go now?! Ryu forced herself up, though, her knee did a pretty little click clack as she did so. With a noticeable limp, she pulled Juno up once again. "I'm not kidnapping him. I want to interrogate him. The idea was to take him away while you try to talk to Albanes, but it seems like that didn't work," he shrugged. "Im going to stay here for a while longer now. I think your little girlfriend is going to be out for awhile, so take her away. I want to hear what this guy has to say, and I want the island to hear it too. Well, that message was pretty clear. She took a small step away. Albanes was going to hate her. There was no other way this was going to end. She was complicit upon the entire downfall of this operation, and personally responsible for whatever was about to happen with Yeonaixho. But as long as Albanes was alive and safe.. it was okay. /nsfw Ryunoske didn't watch Madeline go off. She turned her head and continued back into the room, shutting the door behind her again. Before Yeonaixho could wake up, she looked around for something to restrain him. Setting him down in a chair and then scouring his room real quick, Ryu found some rope. "Not gonna bother to ask why you keep rope in here..but since Peregrine was in here last, I can imagine some reasons," Ryu said, making sure the mic would be able to pick her up. She tied Juno up against the chair, his wrists and ankle against the legs and arms. "I didn't kill the asshole, by the way. His daughter hit me in the back of the knee with a mace. Yeonaixho slowly awoke, and muttered something in a language Ryu wouldn't recognize, under his breath. "Well. This isn't very fun." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

"Sorry, I wish it was a different situation where you're tied up, but I had to do what I had to do," Ryu shrugged. "Your daughter is safe. The worm girl who's in love with her took her. I'm not going to hurt you either. I just want to talk," Ryu said as she took out a cigar and lit it. "I met your wife. She's pretty. A bit dramatic, but I can see why you like her. "Albanes-" He tilted his head slightly up, not fully trusting Ryu. "And why should I believe you? You obviously have no qualms hurting me, am I to believe you'd treat her differently?" For a very long while, he was silent. His expression unreadable. "Jymaiyri..." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

"Feel yourself over for an injuries if you want. The only thing you should have is maybe some bruises when I fell over while holding you. And that's cause your little kid bashed the back of my knee. I used sleeping gas on you two. If I wanted to injure you or your daughter, I wouldn't have bothered with that," Ryu replied, taking in a whiff of her cigar. Hearing Yeonaixho's grumble, Ryu looked him in the eyes. "Jymaiyri? Is that her name? She was upset she couldn't say her name or yours. Thought that I was you for a few moments too. The look on her face when she realized I wasn't you told me everything. She loves you dearly.. and you do too. "Hmph. Good for her." Yeonaixho scoffed as Ryu relayed Albanes's accomplishment. "Then what is it you want from me, specifically? Some kind of perverted service? Redish-green smoke filled the room as Ryu continued to stare at the old man. "..She told me she loved your hair, your eyes.. the way you're entirely devoted to her. She wishes she could pass on. Yeonaixho scoffed, but remained silent. Even after Ryu had said more, he waited. A pained breath, and he said. "You know so much about her, hm? Then you'd know we vowed to never part from the other. She doesn't get to die before me. She doesn't get to leave me here." @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

"But she has. You just refuse to accept it," Ryunoske corrected. "And now you're making all of us suffer for your own selfish wants. I told her that your love was selfish, but she just smiled. She said she would do the same if she was in your shoes. Isn't that just romantic?" Ryu chuckled. "How long have your workers known about your little plan? Were they going to be sacrificed too? The smoke in the room seemed to circle in a slow manner, like a herd of fish under water. Ryu took in another whiff before shaking her head. "What she wants is to rot, Yeonaixho. She doesn't want to stay here any longer because every minute she is, she's suffering," Ryu repeated with a stern voice. There's a pause before she continued. The smoke tensed. Ryunsoke leveled her gaze and her grip snapped her cigar in half. "No. Out of anyone, I understand why you need to fucking move on with your life," she retorted, yet her voice was still unwavering, cold. "The people you hurt to bring back the one you love is a great price. That's your daughter, your friends.. people who you also care about. Ryu chuckled. "You think I forgot her? You're a fool," she spat and the urge to punch Yeonaixho started to crawl on her. Though, that rage quietly simmered. "...You what now? You cut out your own daughter's heart? For what reason?" @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Yeonaixho didn't reply. "She was sick, she was going to die- God, you people are stupid." He rolled his eyes. "I was saving her- I continue to keep her alive, because she deserves the chance to-" He was cut off by the rapid pounding on the door, and then the entrance of a pair of guards- Desmondus and Astrid. While Desmondus moved to free Yeonaixho, Astrid immediately drew her giant sword and attacked Ryu. Instead of hitting him with the sword, though, she threw a fireball at Ryu's shoulder. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

The fireball did quick damage to Ryu's shoulder. She didn't even have a moment to reply. The burning on her shoulder singed her skin and Ryunoske immediately moved to remove her shirt. With her shirt gone, the clear burnt skin on her shoulder and arm were exposed. Ryu winced as she put a hand on her exposed burns. "First my knee, now my shirt and tattoos? I spent good money on those," Ryu said through a pained chuckled. Without another second to lose, Ryunoske blew out another ploom of smoke. This smoke was dark gray and had underlying blue tones. Despite the smoke, Astrid shot another fireball at Ryu's torso - hitting him right in the chest. Bam. Meanwhile, Desmondus had just about finished cutting Yeonaixho free. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

Yknow. A smoke screen is only good if you can move freely. The injury to the knee did more damage than Ryunoske wanted to admit and she couldn't move fast enough. The second fireball did significantly more damage than the first. It ripped at Ryu's upper body, burning nearly all the skin up to her face. Blood was crisped at her wounds and even a bit of bone was exposed. She was lucky to even be standing still. There was pained shout, something Ryu didn't do often, if at all. The sound of her hitting the floor could be heard behind the smoke, but despite all of that, Ryu persisted. With what breath she could muster, more gray smoke was sprayed into the room. Sleep gas. Just as he stood, Yeonaixho slumped back into his chair in slumber. Astrid was quick to follow, falling over on the floor. The guard drew his rapier and, in a form very much resembling some old-timey duel stance, thrust the blade into Ryu's chest. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

Again. Can't really run when you're withering in pain. The last thing Ryu noted was the sound of thumping. She must of gotten someone with the sleep gas, but it wasn't enough. She didn't quite register the rapier in her chest. Burns will make your sense of pain dull, but blood quickly spilled from her body. Once Ryu was out, Desmondus began dragging bodies away....

Madeline and Albanes headed back up to Yeonaixho's room. The trail of blood leading to Petrai's room was worrying, but.. Ryunoske needed help first. She opened up the door and stepped inside, looking around for Ryunoske. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄) @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

Albanes lingered awkwardly by the door, not wanting to fully enter unless some of the sleep smoke still lingered. She bit her lip to try and stop her worry. @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄) @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline

(just some unconscious ryu thoughts. not really that important to read lol) It was rather warm and peaceful where Ryunoske laid. It was relaxing, even. She was laying down on a familiar lap while someone brushed back her hair. The scene was nostalgic to Ryu. "You got into another fight..?" A calm, but distant voice said above her. Ryu sighed. "I won, does it really matter?" She replied. The voice hummed. "But there will always be another fight if you continue being so reckless. It's tiring taking care of you all the time," the person laughed. "But you do it anyways," Ryu retorted back, laughing along. The brushing hand stopped, as did the voice. There was a lingering pause before the voice spoke again. "You have more work to do still. I'll be waiting here when you're finally finished." The person gently brushed their fingers over Ryu's cheek, before the scene went quiet. . . . Ryunoske was still laying face down on the ground, her blood still bright in color. She was breathing still, but it was so faint, she looked still from afar. Her burns and stab wounds were quite a neat addition to her already existing scars. "Ryunoske!" She was honestly in worse condition than Madeline had expected her to be in. She rushed over to her side and pushed Ryunoske over on to her back, which was quite a feat for her. @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania @innsjo (glass🎸+ darcy🖋+ npcs❄)

Albanes rushed over to Ryunoske with Madeline, and once he was turned over began healing the stab and burn wounds. She worked silently, but swiftly. @Mads|Roque🩸+Hannah🦈+Madeline @Aj | Ryunoske+Titania

While Albanes healed Ryu, her stab wound closed and a bit of her burns also started to heal over, but a good chunk of them turned into faded over scars. Her breathing became a bit more settled and with some strain, Ryu opened her eyes. His vision was blurry at first, but squinting made it focus faster. "I was really worried you weren't-" Madeline breathed out a breath of relief. Ryu dying would have been just one more thing to add on to her guilty conscience. "You should see the other guy.." Ryu's lame attempt at humor fell flat, as she didn't even smile. She listened to Albanes for a moment, taking a second to even register who was talking to her. "...I see. Your dad is still alive. I didn't hurt him or the other two who were with him. Now that you're healing me.. ".. We didn't kiss." Madeline said, but didn't refute the rest of the statement. "I think even if you wanted to kill him, you couldn't have. I.. Hm. Ryu closed her eyes again, her burns fading even more. "..If that's the case, is there any chance we can leave here without more fighting? "We could.. Try to run. Steal a boat and get away before he can catch-up.." Madeline suggested. "But I suppose most of the losers want to get their powers back- need to get them back, even. Like that one that turned in to a tree, we can't leave him like that. And we don't know how Albanes would be affected by leaving Yeonaixho either.." ".. I- don't know, I think someone else's heart could maybe work? Yeonaixho's quarters were a mess. The door was slightly ajar, the floor was covered in blood, there was a toppled-over chair in the center of the room, surrounded in cut-away rope. The desk was covered in documents and papers- almost all of them braille. One of the desk drawers was open, revealling hand-bound, handwritten jorunals inside. As she looked over the journals, they did line up with what she saw in the lab, only this must be someone else's writing. The braille didn't do much for her, but she did run her finger over it a little anyway because the feeling was neat. Isi cringed a little at Yugas suggestion, truly hoping that wasn't the case. "Yeah, sounds good", Yuga nodded. He looked at the machinery for a moment, trying to see how it worked. He fiddled with the microphone, and finally found the record button. He cleared his throat, before perssing the button. He tapped the microphone to test it out, before talking. "People on the island. Guests, and others. We have been lied to. Every worker on the island, you have lied to us. You used us. You betrayed us. We trusted you. I trusted you. You promised me a home, you promised me everything, you faked that you cared, and I believed, like an idiot. You lied", he snarled. "You always were going to put us in cages, and use us like animals. I hate you. Give back the powers you stole, and let us leave, and we leave you in peace. If you don't, if you keep fighting, we fight back." "Guests! Stay together, protect each other. Don't let them take what's yours. Fight to save you, fight to save us! We will not die here. We will never surrender!" He hit his fist on the desk for emphasis, and huffed. Isi nodded at him, placing the Ocarina to her lips and beginning to play. The sound echoed through the speakers, it sounded hopeful, urgent, and a little upbeat. As the music played, if anyone was outside or cared to look out a window, they would see and hear a discordant chorus of birdsong answering Isi's tune with their own as the various birds rose into the air and alighted on rooftops and trees nearer the staff building. The song did not last more than a minute or two. Once it ended, Isi leaned down to the microphone to speak. "Kick some ass and don't die! Yuga listened to the song with a small smile, and nodded his head to the rhythm. Once it was over and Isi said his piece, he grinned and clapped his paws. Then, he lifted his hand for a high-five. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Isi grinned and high-fived Yuga enthusiastically. "I don't really know if anyone listened to that but it was kinda satisfying huh?" They laughed. "we should probably think of getting out of here though, in case they care enough to look for us" @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

It was better not think about what would come after this. He didn't want to think about returning back to the streets to die after all he had survived here. He had nothing to lose, so he was going to do his all to help the people who still had futures ahead of themselves to live those futures. Yuga's lips curled into a snarl, but his eyes stayed wide and terrified, his ears low and his tail between his legs. He growled, but it was feeble and scared instead of intimidating. He said something in Vulpese, and after a moment repeated clumsily: "What, what is this...?" He licked his muzzle and grimaced in a mix of disgust, confusion and horror as the corpse stabbed itself. They looked back at Yuga for a split second, and looking at his fear and feeling her own anger made her determined to get them out. They wouldn't let Yuga pull them back. She aimed a swift, hard kick at the zombies torso, which did a whole lot of damage, and gave them a little time. Yuga's eyes were fixed on the creatures, but a moment after Isi had spoken, his head robotically turned towards her voice, and a second after his eyes followed. He took her hand, fur still bristled and ears down. The stapler hit the corpse straight in between the eyes. It stumbled back, putting its hand to its face. Blindly, it swung the knife at Yuga, but didn't land a hit. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Isi stumbled back a bit when she was hit on the head, but that wasn't even the worst part- the mace made contact with one of her antlers, causing the top portion of one to snap off and clatter to the floor. Yuga let out a triumphant howl, and bounced a little between the fallen corpses. They were still unnerving. It was like you never knew when they would rise again. "Are you okay?" he asked Isi and looked at their broken antler worriedly. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

"oh that?" She reached up to touch the broken bit. "Just spent a while growing it, but I'll live. Are you okay?" They looked worriedly at Yuga's arm. They also completely missed that he may have meant the head trauma and not the antler but who cares, she's fine. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Yuga looked at the wound that was spilling blood all over on his arm, and staining his gray church tunic. His ears bent back and he frowned in disgust. "I'm fine..." he mumbled, and proceeded to lick the wound. @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

"it's not gonna kill you but we should still bandage it-" she looked at the door. "Just maybe not here. Do you think you'll be okay if we get to the dorms and then bandage it?" Isi really really did not want another wave of corpses, or worse, to corner them here again, especially if Yuga was hurt. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

Yuga nodded. "Yeah, that's okay. Just a moment." He went, and walked back to the intercom, and started recording. "YOUR CHURCH LEADER IS A BITCHASS MOTHERFUCKER WHO HAS ZOMBIE ARMY!" Short and sweet. He had to get that off of his chest. "Okay, let's go." @sketti | Eben 🕶 + Isi 🍁

Maybe it was the way it cut the tension or something, but Isi laughed so hard at Yuga's announcement it may have carried over into the intercom. "Okay okay- let's get out of here" they held out their hand again and got closer to the door. @Twig | Taisto + Yuga

The ghost of Jymaiyri Ke Naido walked through halls she had once despised. Her soul inhabited her body now- now, and again. It felt odd- to command her hand to rise and have it rise. For twenty years she had toiled without it, and yet now she was tethered. Even the rythmic beat of her heart and the contraction of her lungs were foreign experiences. It was as if she had been reborn completely- a phoenix out of ash, a new spring growth. Was this what Yeonaixho had felt like, the first time he had brought himself back? Jymaiyri wondered this. All those memories seemed so distant now- remembered more by her body than her soul. Had she really changed so much, in twenty years? Or had the world changed without her? Those twenty years had felt like a dream. Like nothing. She could remember her last living day like it’d been yesterday. And yet, it still felt so distant. Time had elapsed her, without her knowing. It felt so wrong, and yet to be living again, to have inhabited her own body was elation. It was a high she never wanted to come down from. She was real again. She could breathe, and swallow, and think. For twenty years, she hadn’t known how much she missed it. It had been so hard to know, when all she had been capable of was rage. Rage that still festered in the pit of her stomach. Despite Yeonaixho’s meticulous restoration of her body, she could still feel the aches of her mortal wound. Yeonaixho led her along, one hand on her waist, the other holding his cane. He’d aged in her absence- twenty years of time had shifted his appearance ever so slightly. His hands were more worn, the darkness under his eyes more pronounced. When he smiled, his face creased into wrinkles he hadn’t before. But he’d aged well, or at least, he’d aged familiarly. He’d grown older in a way Jymaiyri found she didn’t really mind. He was still hers, eternally. It was just strange, to think that he’d passed her in age. It was stranger to think that, after twenty years, her body was still thirty. She didn’t feel thirty. She didn’t feel fifty, either, the age she would’ve been if she’d lived. She felt new and old at the same time. She wondered how long that infantile newness would last, that fresh unease. She wondered if she’d have enough time to get used to it. “You haven’t changed the church quarters since I’ve been gone.” She said, as they walked through the empty halls. Since she’d been gone- a polite euphemism for something neither of them truly wanted to address. She’d been gone, and now she’d returned. Like she’d been on a business trip. “Ah, yes.” Yeonaixho answered lightly, idly. “It felt wrong to, honestly. You know me and design. I’m horrid at it.” “And Petrai didn’t care to change it?” “You know how she is.” Jymaiyri had thought she’d seen Petrai, Yeonaixho’s oldest and dearest friend, at the resurrection. But she hadn’t. The woman might’ve looked like Petrai, but she was far too free. That was not the Petrai Jymaiyri knew.

Through the dusty, dated hallways of the staff building, Yeonaixho led Jymaiyri back- back through memory, back to a dream, back to a life that had been so firmly in her grasp but had slipped out of her hands like dry sand. He led her back to their room- the room that had once been theirs, twenty years ago, and had been his since. It was easy to tell what desire drove him- of course, she wanted him bodily, too. It’d been so long, out of his embrace. She craved the saccarine that was him. She wanted it on her body, on her lips. What better way to mark her reunion than to consummate it? He opened the wooden door slowly, letting it creak before he let her into the room. “Forgive the mess, please. There’s been a bit of trouble recently.” Jymaiyri stepped silently into the lofty chamber. Dark, as was typical for any space Yeonaixho inhabited. Dusty, every surface covered in something. She was sad to see he’d let his organizational habits go without her. But she understood. The blood on the floor, and the chair beside it, she did not care to know the purpose or history of. “You’ve kept it the same.” “Mostly. At least, any of it that mattered.” Yeonaixho hummed as he rested his cane by the door. “I’d always hoped you’d return. Couldn’t bare to change it.” Now, he was in front of her. He cupped her face in his hands, tracing her cheeks, the bridge of her nose, the creases of her eyes. He committed her to his tactile memory, as if he couldn’t believe she was actually real. “And now, you have me back.” Jymaiyri could melt in the embrace. The proximity was entoxicating. Instead of replying, Yeonaixho kissed her again. It, like it had been before, was sublime, but now, in dim privacy, it was passionate. He leaned into her, over her, one hand traveling up through her hair and the other caressing her back. Jymaiyri had needed this. She’d needed this for years. Passion completed her. Jymaiyri led them both over to the bed, in a tangle of passion. She laid Yeonaixho out on the bed, then sat over him- one leg on each side of the body. She resented the starchy, lineny funeral gown he’d dressed her in, and the way it clung to her body in all the wrong places. Likewise, she resented how Yeonaixho’s mess of layers obscured his. She began to pull her shirt off, and when Yeonaixho realized that was what she was doing, he assisted her. Then, it was his turn. “Treat me gently, lilybud.” He murmured into her ear, only a breath away. “I’ve missed this.” Jymaiyri only answered by giving him all he desired. It was good sex. Sex like they used to have, before. Jymaiyri hadn’t known how much her living body had yearned for his in this way. This did not complete her, it did not fill the strange, aching hole where her mortal wound had once been, but it satisfied her. That was enough. Afterwards, Jymayri rested languid by Yeonaixho’s side, their bare bodies pressed close together. Yeonaixho had closed his eyes, but he was not asleep- even still, she could tell that by the pattern of his breath, and the ease of his expression. He’d intertwined his hand in hers, and caressed her knuckles. “I missed you,” He whispered, only loud enough for her to hear. “I missed this.” And she knew that it wasn’t just the sex he’d yearned for. It was the proximity. The physical closeness. Everything about her. She’d missed it, too. Though she missed it differently. Was this something she was supposed to come back to? “I did, too.” Jymaiyri murmured. And she did. Still, she missed it- the time she hadn’t had. It felt both incredibly wrong and incredibly right to be here, like this, in her body again. She knew she wasn’t supposed to. “What was it like,” he asked her, “When you were... gone?” “Horrible.” She said immediately. “All I could feel was pain. Pain, and rage, and the weight of my own grief. I hated it all.” “I’m so glad you don’t have to expirience that anymore. I’m so glad I got to lift your burden.” Silence followed, til Yeonaixho added, “Ilfther Hanishadria is dead.” That tore into Jymaiyri more than it should’ve. She had been holding a knife for twenty years, and someone had wretched it from her hand. “What? He’s dead?” “Five years ago.” “Tell me you did it. Please.” If anything, let it be Yeonaixho. If anyone but her, him. “I... didn’t. It was his son.” Yeonaixho’s hand stilled. “A political assassination. A beheading.” Jymaiyri stifled the sob burning in her chest. Twenty years of toil, of nothing but desire for vengeance, against a man who was already dead. What did she have now? Could she return to living as she once had, alongside Yeonaixho’s side as if nothing had happened? Could she pretend to be whole? Could she pantomime forgetting, until her mind tricked her body, too, into forgetting these twenty years had passed? Did she even have enough time to forget? “Don’t cry, dear. Please. Don’t cry.” Yeonaixho shifted over to her. He pressed his hands to her face, drying her tears. Jymaiyri leaned into him, the warmth of his embrace. It was everything, and it was fleeting. “Yeonaixho, what are we going to do?” His brow furrowed. “What do you mean?” “We can’t go on like this. There’s nothing for us. It’s over.”

Yeonaixho sighed. He was tired- it was evident in his voice. “All this, for nothing.” “Not for nothing. No. For grief. For love.” Jymaiyri insisted. “But we can’t continue. I can’t pretend this is all normal.” “A fitting end.” Yeonaixho mirrored. “Hand in hand. The only way.” “And neither of us will be left behind.” Jymaiyri echoed. She leaned close to Yeonaixho, and whispered in his ear the only thing she still desired. He did not object, or protest, or show hesitation. Perhaps, he knew it too. This was the only way. This was their only fitting end. In a better world, they could’ve lived together. A quiet life, a simple home. The two of them, together in life and in death. They’d rest together in the earth, in paired graves, after well-lived lives. They’d have spent all their time together. They’d have rested in peace, and in unity. They’d have left this world free of any desire, or yearning for missed time. Jymaiyri had long ago learned this world was not good for her. She’d learned it through the pain of war and grief of death. She’d learned it through those fleeting, rare happinesses, those moments of nothing but joy. They were all so short, looking back, but so wonderful. This world, she knew, would never give her a happy ending. Hers was a life of tragedy. Cruel fate had already tried to end her once, in violence. She knew time would not treat her kindly again. This was it. Yeonaixho knew it, too. He hadn’t brought her back for some kind of desperate shot at paradise. They both knew that was never going to happen. This was simply a chance to make things right. Finally. She could rest easy, by Yeonaixho’s side, knowing this. It would be over, soon. Maybe, she could finally rest then, in eternal embrace. It was all she could ask. (edited)

Petrai knocked on the door before she entered it. She would give Yeonaixho and Jymaiyri that pleasantry, at least. "Coming," Yeonaixho said, and got the door. He and Jymaiyri had since dressed, They'd spent the last hours talking about everything and nothing, everything they'd missed. "Yeonaixho." Petrai said when the door was opened on her. "Petrai," He sneered. Jymaiyri lingered by the bed- watching, waiting. "I don't want violence. I'm here to propose a deal." Petrai began. "I'm listening." "You've got what you wanted." Petrai spared a glance towards Jymaiyri, "Now let the rest of us go. This isn't worth it. They'll just kill you both." "Oh, we were going to let them leave anyways." Yeonaixho said. "It's not worth it." Jymaiyri supplied. She got up and walked towards the door. "You spread the news around. Everyone off the island by nightfall." Petrai met Jymaiyri's calculting, cold gaze. She never knew what that woman was thinking- even now. She didn't know what the two lovers had planned, but it wasn't her business to know. She knew this wasn't the ideal situation, but she'd take any victory she got. "Alright. Everyone will be off by nightfall." Petrai nodded. She turned to go spread the news.
